    30 | Grocery Giveaway (with Doyle Bradsher and Jeff Cozzens)

    Six times a year, about 20 Sycamore View families volunteer on Friday afternoon, Friday night, and Saturday morning to give 120 bags of groceries to our neighbors and friends at our Grocery Giveaway. We aren't trying to solve world hunger , but much like Jesus, we just want to love our neighbors well. In 2028, Sycamore View Church will turn 50 years old, and we want to do this right. We want to use the next few years as a season of reflection and preparation: reflection concerning all God has done through this church and preparation for God’s future here. We want to be great story-tellers. So we’re launching what we’re calling “50 for 50.” Telling fifty stories. Over fifty months. Celebrating fifty years.     29 | The Crow's Nest (with Lacey Mauk and Kip Long)

    Forty-eight years ago, we needed one volunteer to make sure one microphone worked each Sunday. But, the more technology has advanced, the more volunteers are needed to run sound, media, cameras, and livestream. Today, that ministry is called "The Crow's Nest." In this episode, Anna talks with Lacey Mauk and Kip Long, two people that partner to make every Sunday run smoothly, from on the stage and behind the scenes.     28 | Agape Child and Family Services (with David Jordan and Randy Lillard)

    Since the founding of Agape Child and Family Services in 1970, a deep bond has been formed between Agape and the Sycamore View Church. Our roots run deeply together as Christ-centered partners both serving Memphis and learning all we can from our beautiful city and what it has to give. In this episode, Anna talks with two Sycamore View members who are deeply connected to Agape: the current CEO and President of Agape, David Jordan, and long-time board member, Randy Lillard.     27 | Children's Clothing Sale (with LeAn Ramsey and Lisa Miller)

    Twice a year since 2004, a team of about 15 women come together for a week of bonding and service. A ministry was launched that would exceed all expectations: the Children's Clothing Sale. What we thought was a ministry for others, became just as much a ministry for ourselves. It's not just about the clothes; it's about the deep connections and the opportunity to show people Jesus through kindness and compassion.   In 2028, Sycamore View Church will turn 50 years old, and we want to do this right.     Over 20 years ago, our church family asked our elders to study three issues: divorce and remarriage, instrumental worship, and the role of women in public worship. Over the next decade, our leaders carefully, thoughtfully, and prayerfully worked through these three conversations. We wanted to provide clarity on these issues as we continued with "Helping people see Jesus." In this 50 for 50, Phil Hart talks us through our position paper on Instrumental Worship.     25 | Boys and Girls Club

    In 2008, Sycamore View began a capital campaign to update the building to accommodate our thriving church. We knew God was calling us to create a space for young people, especially those right here in our neighborhood, but we weren't exactly sure what that would look like. As God does, he threw open doors and showed us exactly what that could look like. Years later, the Boys and Girls Club at Sycamore View is still thriving and growing in ways we could have never imagined. In 2028, Sycamore View Church will turn 50 years old, and we want to do this right.     Since 1978, Sycamore View has had numerous people serve in the role as office staff. This role has been vital for our ministers and church family.     23 | KDS (With Sarah Upton)

    Since 1946, Sycamore View (then Jackson Avenue) Church of Christ has partnered with KDS (King's Daughters and Sons). KDS offers a full continuum of care, including long-term skilled nursing, hospice services, and short-term rehabilitation. Some of the residents are adults with disabilities while others are elderly adults in need of more specialized care. In this episode, Anna talks with Sarah Upton about her time spent at KDS over the years.
