Your landing page may explain what you do, list your services, show a contact form, and tell visitors to get in touch. But does it clearly answer the most important question: Why should a customer choose you instead of a competitor — or simply doing nothing? In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down why so many landing pages generate traffic and even form submissions while still failing to give prospects enough confidence to become actual customers. A strong landing page shouldn't just describe the business. It should help visitors understand the process, reduce uncertainty, provide evidence, address objections, and explain what happens after someone reaches out. One of the biggest competitors businesses face isn't another company. It's the customer deciding to wait. If someone is worried about price, timing, complexity, or making the wrong decision, your landing page needs to remove as much of that uncertainty as possible. For an auto repair shop, that could mean showing exactly what happens during a diagnostic appointment. For a window replacement company, it could mean explaining the process from measurements through installation. For a PPC agency, it could mean showing real campaign results, case studies, screenshots, scaling experience, and examples of how advertising produced profitable growth. Simply saying you've been in business for 20 or 30 years isn't enough. The customer needs to understand why that experience matters to them. Different visitors also need different reasons to choose you. An emergency plumbing customer cares about availability and response time. Someone planning a bathroom renovation may care more about past projects, estimates, timelines, and workmanship. The same principle applies across industries. Your proof should appear close to the promise it supports. If you claim excellent workmanship, show completed projects and reviews discussing workmanship. If you promise careful moving services, show your packing and protection process alongside customer testimonials. If you claim you can scale Google Ads campaigns, show the results. The conversion form itself also needs context. Don't simply say Submit or Contact Us. Tell customers what happens next. Will someone call them? Will they receive an estimate? Is a site visit required? Does submitting the form confirm an appointment? Removing that uncertainty can make taking the next step feel much easier. Landing pages should also help unsuitable prospects recognize when the business isn't the right fit. Clearly explaining service areas, minimum project requirements, specialties, pricing expectations, or customer requirements can reduce low-quality leads while increasing the percentage of qualified opportunities. More leads doesn't automatically mean better performance. A page generating 50 inquiries with only five qualified prospects may be worse than a page generating 30 inquiries with 12 qualified prospects. The same applies to bookings. Twenty highly qualified tour requests that generate four bookings may be far more valuable than 40 requests that produce only two. That means PPC and landing page optimization shouldn't stop at CPL or form submissions. Track qualified leads, MQLs, SQLs, customers, bookings, sales, acquisition costs, and ultimately revenue. And one of the simplest tests you can perform on your own landing page is this: Pull up the page and cover your logo. If the page could easily belong to five other competitors in your industry, ask yourself: What on this page would actually make someone choose us? That answer should be obvious to the visitor.
