Dez Mighty

I am an award winning filmmaker, public speaker and creative who has developed technology solutions for some of the largest companies in the world. I built businesses from scratch, developed property, and spent two decades figuring out how the world actually works versus how people say it does. I founded Unfiltered London, co-founded Legacy AI CIC taking AI education to children across Sub-Saharan Africa, and I still think the most honest conversations happen when the professional mask comes off. I talk to people who have been through something real. A health crisis. A business that nearly took them out. A loss that changed everything. People rebuilding identity from the ground up. Sometimes the guest is an entrepreneur. Sometimes a public figure. Sometimes someone you have never heard of who has lived a story you will not forget. Every now and again I just talk about what is happening in the world right now. Straight. No filter. No agenda. No script. Just real conversations with real people.

    Mental Health and the trades

Send us Fan Mail Shareen Sinclair Every working day in the UK, two construction workers take their own lives. Shareen Sinclair has made it her mission to change that, starting with the businesses those workers run. Shareen is the founder of Trades Angel. She's an award winning strategic growth advisor, speaker and changemaker, and she's transforming the way trades and construction businesses are run. Her T.R.A.D.E.S. Framework helps established trades owners make more money, build stronger teams and create businesses that don't fall apart the minute they step away. She specialises in scaling. She takes owners out of daily firefighting and into real leadership, and she gets businesses ready for bigger contracts. She doesn't just coach the business. She coaches the person behind it, and often their partner too. Business problems don't stay at work. They come home at night and sit at the kitchen table. They hit relationships, families and mental health. In an industry losing men to suicide at this rate, Shareen knows a struggling business can be a matter of life and death. She knows this world from the inside. She's the daughter of an electrician and the former partner of a plumber. She brings over 20 years of experience across commercial banking, property and construction, so she understands the money, the operations and the pressure on the people. Shareen also founded the Trades Industry Leaders' Luncheon and speaks at industry events on business pressure, leadership, profitability and wellbeing. Her belief is simple: tradespeople are our fourth emergency service. Our homes, our economy and our country depend on them. No hands required. Painting with my mouth

Send us Fan Mail My name is Andy baker and I was born in Croydon on 6 June 1963. As a child and a teenager, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I always had a secret longing to go to art college, but I was too frightened to try in case I discovered I was no good. At 16, I became obsessed with motorbikes and spent all my time and money on them. At 20, I had a catastrophic accident in Switzerland. I fell asleep on my motorbike at 80 miles an hour on the motorway. I woke up in hospital to find my left arm had been amputated and my right arm was severely paralysed. I spent a couple of years studying with the Open University, then went travelling to the Far East with my girlfriend. I ended up living in Indonesia for almost ten years, mainly on the Hindu island of Bali. In 1996, I met a Canadian art professor, Morrie Rohrlick, who agreed to teach me to draw with a pencil held in my mouth. In 1998, I became a student with the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA), and I’m still a student with them today. I have never painted with my feet. I prefer the mouth held brush. The work on display is mainly acrylic. I’m now experimenting more with watercolours, ink, bleach and alcohol inks, including delaminated alcohol inks.   Support the show To see more of my work and visuals for this and upcoming episodes, subscribe @dezmighty on youtube. Ona Brown: Falling In Love With Your Life, The Daughter of Les Brown Speaks

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Inspired at the CSEP Media Lab, we sit down with Dr. Ona Brown, motivational speaker, author, and transformational strategist with over 30 years of experience empowering audiences worldwide. As the daughter of legendary speaker Les Brown, Ona shares what it was like meeting her father at 24 and stepping into her own voice rather than his. She opens up about her body of work How to Fall in Love with Your Life, why self love has to come before you can genuinely love your life, and why she believes you get the life you design, not the life you deserve. Ona also talks candidly about losing her mother this year, staying ahead of grief, and why she chose to spend Thanksgiving in the UK rather than sit with the absence back home. The conversation moves through imposter syndrome, why self development is a daily practice and not a one time fix, the power of feminine energy in leadership after a defining moment watching a speaker named Susan hold a room to a whisper, and the entrepreneurial hustle that started at age nine braiding hair and babysitting to help her mum. Ona also shares her reading list including The Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra, and reflects on her first visit to Brixton. A conversation about love, legacy, grief, and what it really means to carry a torch in your own way. Know Your Pause: How Marcia Jones Turned a Front Room Gathering Into a Menopause Movement”

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, Dez sits down with Marcia Jones, Founder and CEO of Sister2SisterBU, an Award-Winning Women’s Wellbeing community based in London. What started as a monthly gathering in her front room over two decades ago is now a thriving movement supporting midlife women across cultures through perimenopause, menopause, and everything in between. Marcia launched her Perimenopause and Menopause Support Group in October 2020, right in the middle of a global pandemic, because women needed a space where they felt seen, supported, and not alone. Today that group continues to grow, backed by funding and driven by Marcia’s no-nonsense approach to wellbeing, community, and transformation. In this conversation, Marcia talks openly about the symptoms nobody prepares you for, why the conversation around menopause is still not loud enough, and how her own journey including surviving breast cancer shaped the woman and the mission behind Sister2SisterBU. If you are in perimenopause, menopause, or supporting someone who is, this episode is essential listening. One flag worth noting: I cannot access the full depth of her LinkedIn profile without being logged in, so her specific qualifications and certifications beyond what is publicly indexed were not available. What is above is verified against her own website, Instagram, and LinkedIn public data. Sources: sister2sisterbu.co.uk, Instagram @sister2sisterbu, LinkedIn profile.
