June 12 Everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean. - Numbers 31:23 For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. - Deuteronomy 13:3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the LORD. - Malachi 3:3 Each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. - 1 Corinthians 3:13 I will turn my hand against you and will smelt away your dross as with lye and remove all your alloy. - Isaiah 1:25 “Behold, I will refine them and test them, for what else can I do, because of the sin of my people? - Jeremiah 9:7 You, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. - Psalm 66:10, 12 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. - Isaiah 43:2-3 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. June 10 The younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. - Luke 15:13 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. - 1 Corinthians 6:11 We all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 2:3-6 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. - 1 John 4:10 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. - Romans 5:8, 10 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. June 6 The LORD… will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. - Zephaniah 3:17 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the LORD loves you. - Deuteronomy 7:7-8 We love because he first loved us. - 1 John 4:19 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him. - Colossians 1:21-22 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. - 1 John 4:10 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 Behold, a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. - Matthew 3:17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. - John 10:17 His Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Hebrews 1:2-3 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode.
