March Madness, WNBA CBA, & NCAA Hockey |115|

Wisconsin reigns supreme as your 2026 NCAA Women’s Hockey Champions, taking down rival Ohio State in a statement win to secure back-to-back titles. We’re already looking ahead to what stars Laila Edwards and Caroline Harvey do next in the PWHL. March Madness is delivering the drama, and Carolyn is officially all-in on Virginia after their instant-classic double OT thriller against Iowa. Cinderella run or legit contender? Their Sweet 16 showdown with TCU will tell us everything. Meanwhile, Danielle is (once again) riding the Notre Dame hype train, but Carolyn’s not convinced, citing the “homophobic curse” as a very real obstacle to a deeper tournament run. Chaos, narratives, and a little superstition? That’s March Madness! And in the WNBA, the future is looking brighter than ever. A brand-new CBA brings higher pay, revenue sharing, expanded family benefits, and long-overdue recognition with one-time payments for veteran players who helped build the league into what it is today. Unrivaled Championship, SheBelieves Cup, & NCAA Conference Championships |113|

Championships, chaos, and the road to March Madness. This week in women’s sports had everything. The Mist are officially your 2026 Unrivaled Champions, and Breanna Stewart just added another trophy to an already ridiculous résumé. We break down the title run and what the new Unrivaled basketball league means for the future of women’s hoops. But the celebration didn’t stop at the trophy ceremony… it spilled into a reportedly wild after-party that ended with a battery charge involving Arike Ogunbowale, a reminder that nothing good happens after midnight. On the soccer side, the USWNT team claim another trophy, winning the SheBelieves Cup with dominant performances over Canada and Colombia. We talk standout moments, what it means for the squad heading into the next international window, and why this group looks scary good. Then it’s Champ Week in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball, and the bracket picture is coming into focus. We break down conference tournament chaos and predict the No. 1 seeds heading into Selection Sunday. Bonus: Danielle’s preseason Final Four picks are aging like fine wine, with UConn, UCLA, Texas, and South Carolina all looking like legit title contenders. USA Hockey, Alysa Liu, Mikaela Shiffrin, & Iowa Basketball |111|

The Olympics are over, but the U.S. women showed out. They won 8 of Team USA’s 12 gold medals, including a historic third Olympic gold for Mikaela Shiffrin and a joyful, full-circle figure skating triumph from Alysa Liu. In hockey, Hilary Knight and Team USA defeated Canada in overtime to secure their third Olympic gold in women’s hockey, in a record-setting 5.3-million-viewer thriller that cemented their dominance. We also spend time unpacking the viral locker room video of the U.S. men’s hockey team laughing during a presidential phone call that included a joke at the women’s team’s expense.  In NCAA Basketball, the Iowa Hawkeyes handled the Michigan Wolverines for their 50th consecutive sellout, building serious momentum ahead of the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament.  If you’re here for women’s sports news, Olympic highlights, women’s college basketball, and unfiltered analysis that doesn’t look away when things get uncomfortable, this episode is for you. Chloe Kim, Unrivaled 1v1, Duke Softball, & SEC Basketball |110|

Women’s sports delivered chaos, clutch moments, and history this week. At the Winter Olympics, Chloe Kim battled through a torn labrum to grab silver in snowboard halfpipe, while 17-year-old Gaon Choi shook off a scary slam and came back flying to win gold. Talk about Gen Z nerves of steel. NCAA softball is officially back. Duke Blue Devils softball stack ranked wins over Texas A&M and LSU for a solid start at the Clearwater Invitational. Head coach Marissa Young continues building a powerhouse in record time. In Unrivaled action, the Point Gawd reminded everyone why she owns the nickname. Chelsea Gray stormed back to take the 1v1 crown, securing the $200K championship win in a trophy-stacking year. Next stop: Unrivaled playoffs at Barclays Center. In NCAA women’s basketball, the madness is already here. Vanderbilt beat Texas behind a scoring explosion from Mikayla Blakes. South Carolina took down LSU in Dawn Staley’s 500th win. The Top 16 reveal is out, but if this week proved anything, the bracket is far from settled. Tap in for the full breakdown, bold takes, and everything you need to stay ahead of the women’s sports conversation. WNBA CBA Standoff, Unrivaled, & Lindsey Vonn |109|

There’s still no collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for WNBA players and league executives are reportedly showing up to meetings empty-handed. If the WNBA can’t lock in a deal that supports player salaries, revenue sharing, and long-term growth, could Unrivaled shake up the women’s basketball landscape? Over in Unrivaled, the Hive are scrambling to pull it together, but is it too little, too late for a playoff push? We’re also sending support to Rickea Jackson after her ex-boyfriend was charged with aggravated battery. The media coverage of the incident is skewed and disturbing. At the Winter Olympics, Lindsey Vonn is facing major backlash for competing on a torn ACL because the internet still loves telling elite female athletes what to do with their bodies. We unpack the double standards in sports media and the ongoing policing of women’s choices. We promise we close on a high note, celebrating Breezy Johnson for earning Team USA’s first medal at the Milano Cortina Games because women’s sports victories deserve the loudest applause. Let’s get into it. If you rate Women’s Sports Weekly 5 stars, send a screenshot and you will receive a sticker! Philly is Unrivaled, Australian Open, & Milano Cortina Winter Olympics |108|

Philly is officially Unrivaled. The City of Brotherly Love hosted two electric games, and Marina Mabrey stole the spotlight with a jaw-dropping 47-point eruption in front of 21,000 buzzing fans. Over in the NWSL, Trinity Rodman locked in a historic contract to stay with the Washington Spirit, igniting league-wide conversations about the new High Impact Player rule and what’s next with the Players Association. But for now, women’s soccer fans can celebrate keeping a generational talent on U.S. soil. On the tennis courts, Elena Rybakina claimed the first Grand Slam of the year at the Australian Open. Her celebration may have been ice-cold, but her game was anything but. She brought pure power, ruthless precision, and a statement win to set the tone for the season. Then we flip into full Olympic preview mode as the road to the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics heats up. From Lindsey Vonn’s return to competitive skiing to Mikaela Shiffrin’s redemption arc, plus the always-intense USA vs. Canada women’s hockey rivalry, we break down everything you need to know.
