    That’s So Raven’s Halloween Episode Was… Kinda Terrible?!

    That’s So Raven gave us a Halloween episode about Raven and Chelsea… turning into cows?! 🐄🎃 This week on Friends of Disney, our Disney Channel Halloween marathon continues with That’s So Raven and its Halloween episode, “Don’t Have a Cow.” And after watching it, we have one pretty major question: What did any of this have to do with Halloween?! Raven and Chelsea desperately want invitations to Alana's Halloween party, discover a mysterious spell book, accidentally begin turning into cows…and eventually we discover that almost the entire thing was one of Raven's visions. Meanwhile, Cory just wants to go trick-or-treating without his dad. And somehow THAT becomes the Halloween storyline we actually care about. We break down the bizarre cow transformation, Chelsea's vegetarian storyline, Raven's unusually long vision, the spell book that doesn't really fit the rest of the show, Alana's incredibly underwhelming Halloween party, and why Cory's much simpler trick-or-treating story captures Halloween better than the main plot.     JONAS Expected Us to Just Believe They Were Superstars?!

    The Jonas Brothers are supposed to be global superstars...but has JONAS actually shown us that yet? 🤨🎸 This week on Friends of Disney, we're continuing our JONAS rewatch with Episode 4, as the Jonas family attempts to spend some time being a “normal family.” Mrs. Jonas wants Joe, Nick and Kevin to live a little more like ordinary teenagers — doing chores, having family dinners and cutting back on some of the ridiculous perks that come with being famous. But there's one problem: the episode also expects us to believe these three are enormous superstars without the show doing much to establish it. And that leads us down a rabbit hole. We debate whether Mrs. Jonas is asking too much of her sons, whether being famous should change normal family expectations, why the brothers are more concerned about disappointing their mom than their own safety, and whether this storyline happened WAY too early in the series. Plus, we get a bizarre trip to a thrift store, Macy going full fangirl, questionable disguises, exhausted Jonas Brothers, private jets for pizza, and one very important comparison to Big Time Rush. 🎸 Does JONAS rely too much on the audience already knowing the real Jonas Brothers were famous? 🏠 Was Mrs. Jonas asking for a reasonable “normal family” life? 😴 How many chores are reasonable when your kids are literally falling asleep standing up? 📺 And did this episode age particularly badly now that we're watching JONAS years removed from peak Jonas Brothers mania?     High School Musical 20 Years Later... Does It Still Hold Up?

    🎵 Season 3 of Friends of Disney begins by heading back to East High! Twenty years after High School Musical became a Disney Channel phenomenon, we're revisiting Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan and the Wildcats to answer one big question: Does High School Musical actually still hold up 20 years later? Some parts have aged surprisingly well. Others... maybe not so much.
