    📉Progress Ain’t Profit

What's the point of making progress if your bank account still looks the same? I've been putting out episodes, producing visuals, and having conversations about potential opportunities. The recognition is growing, but I'm still trying to turn that progress into steady income. On PROGRESS AIN'T PROFIT, I talk about the business side of being a creator, the difference between making connections and getting paid, and how Jay-Z's "Can't Knock the Hustle" featuring Mary J. Blige connects to the situation. I want to reach a point where the work can support a team and I can spend more time on creative direction. The Daily BARZ Club is a self-development podcast through hip-hop, hosted by Royal Tey. IN THIS EPISODE: • Recognition growing faster than the income — and what that gap actually feels like • Connections vs. collections: why being seen isn't the same as being paid • The Jay-Z thread — "Can't Knock the Hustle" and wanting more from the craft • Building toward a team, so the hours go to creative direction CHAPTERS: 0:00 — The work is getting seen 1:41 — Recognition don't pay the production 2:36 — Back to regular life — the bills are still there 3:20 — Jay-Z, "Can't Knock the Hustle" 4:47 — Connections aren't collections 5:16 — Carrying the weight — help, clients, and a team START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content

    Too Many Hands⌛️

There are only so many hours in a night, especially when you're trying to make progress on things that matter to you. I can start working around nine, look up, and it's already past one in the morning. I'm still looking at things I planned to finish. That's where TOO MANY HANDS comes from. The more things I have going on, the more decisions I have to make about where my time goes. Some opportunities are worth taking. Others can wait, even when they look good right now. In this episode of The Daily BARZ Club, I'm talking about that late-night pressure, the difference between being busy and making progress, and knowing when I've given the right things enough attention for the night. Everything that matters doesn't have to matter tonight. IN THIS EPISODE: • The 9 PM to 1 AM nights — and why "one more thing" keeps winning • Busy vs. progress: the question "what moved?" • Measuring yourself against somebody else's pace, and what it costs at 2 AM • Every opportunity comes with a bill — sometimes the currency is your time • Ending the night with things left undone, on purpose CHAPTERS: 0:00 — The night shift: 9 PM to 1 AM 2:07 — Busy can look like progress — "What moved?" 2:28 — Measuring against somebody else's pace 3:22 — Every opportunity comes with a bill 4:03 — Every door ain't a door you walk through 4:37 — Measuring the night by what deserves the hour 5:52 — Full schedule, empty pockets 6:51 — Everything that matters doesn't have to matter tonight 7:37 — One bar a day — sign-off START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content

    My Reputation📼

My portfolio went down for a minute, but something else didn't stop with it. My name was still moving. People were still connecting with me. New invitations were still coming in. The numbers on some of my content had moved too. It made me look at reputation a little different. MY REPUTATION is about that space where the work has already been out long enough for your name to start showing up in places you didn't personally carry it to. That doesn't mean every conversation turns into something. It just means the introduction might already be happening before you get there. The Daily BARZ Club is a self-development and hip-hop podcast hosted by Royal Tey. IN THIS EPISODE: • The portfolio goes dark — and the name keeps traveling anyway • The dub tape in the backseat: your name in rooms you're not in • The shift on LinkedIn — people reaching back before you reach out • Catching up to your own reputation CHAPTERS: 0:00 — The spark: Jay-Z, and a Post Malone instrumental 1:16 — The portfolio went dark — the name kept moving 1:47 — The dub tape in the backseat 2:19 — People reaching back first 3:00 — Reputation travels faster than you can 3:50 — The name showing up ahead of me 4:43 — Reality check — for the builders (sign-off) START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content

    U BETTER RECOGNIZE🚪

Personal branding, creative portfolio building, and self-development for the hip-hop generation — that's what The Daily BARZ Club is about, and this episode is proof of the work paying off. The portfolio was already live. I kept putting the work out even when I couldn't see what was happening on the other side. Now it's starting to create real conversations — creative job opportunities, collaboration requests, possible partnerships. That's what happens when personal branding and creative career growth actually compound. Nothing is locked yet, and every knock doesn't mean it's the right door. But something changed. People are starting to recognize what the work can do. On this episode of U BETTER RECOGNIZE, I talk about: • Personal branding for creatives — how a live portfolio becomes a career asset • Creative career growth and knowing which opportunities are worth chasing • The gap between being seen and knowing which opportunity is real • Staying consistent when the payoff isn't visible yet The proof has been there. Now the response is starting to reach me. The Daily BARZ Club is a self-development and hip-hop podcast hosted by Royal Tey with Straight Edge Chuck, covering personal branding, creative career strategy, and building discipline rooted in hip-hop culture. LET IT DEVELOP🌓

I put the portfolio out there. The page is live, the projects are in place, and now I'm in the part nobody can show me. I know where I sent it. I don't know what happens after it leaves my hands or what conversation may already be moving where I can't see it. All I can do is keep going while the picture develops. LET IT DEVELOP🌓 picks up right where LEAVE PROOF ended. The proof is already in the room. I'm waiting to see what develops from it. IN THIS EPISODE: The sequel to Leave Proof: the portfolio is out — now what happens where he can't see it The darkroom: send the link, lose control of the room The five-year-plan question he still can't answer — and isn't faking one Working while it develops: not sitting back, not forcing it The portfolio introduces him in rooms he's not in CHAPTERS: 0:01 — The question he couldn't answer 1:00 — First, the portfolio had to be finished 1:31 — Leave Proof was finishing it — one place for the full story 2:34 — Pressing the button in the darkroom 3:02 — After that, I don't know who's looking 4:20 — The song underneath it: still moving 4:51 — Doing my part while the rest comes together 6:17 — Every day don't need to be a new announcement 6:31 — It can introduce me when I'm not there 7:23 — Growing the show, in front of the right people 8:30 — Still no five-year-plan answer — and not rushing one 9:06 — Let it develop — what's your daily bar? Royal Tey finally finished his portfolio site and gave every finished project one clear place to be seen. Before the site was done, showing the full range took too much explaining. One person might know the podcast. Somebody else might know one visual or one product idea. The full picture was spread across too many places. LEAVE PROOF follows what changed once the page was ready. Royal Tey talks about presenting the projects with care, letting the finished pieces speak first, and stepping into new conversations with something real behind his name. The episode also connects the old photography studio to the way creators use a phone today. The tools changed, but a finished piece can still carry your name after the camera is off. This is Season 4, Episode 3 of The Daily BARZ Club, continuing the story from KICK PUSH and THE GIFT & THE CURSE. Tap in with Royal Tey and Straight Edge Chuck for a real conversation about creative projects, portfolio presentation, personal growth, discipline, career opportunities, and self-development through hip-hop. Shoot and execute. Leave proof. IN THIS EPISODE: • The portfolio is finished: every project finally in one clear place • Before the site: too much explaining, the full picture scattered • Letting the finished pieces speak first • The page works before the call — conversations start further ahead • Put it where people can find it, and let it speak when you're not in the room CHAPTERS: 0:01 — 2:26 AM: getting right 0:33 — The proof was spread across too many places 1:33 — The projects needed a clear table 2:49 — The page gives people something real to go by 3:48 — The level of care, visible before a word 4:41 — The portfolio does its part before the call 5:00 — I wanted the page to feel like me 6:34 — Seeing what's missing: the next move gets easier 7:47 — Let it speak when you're not in the room 8:46 — Something to back it up before I say a word 10:32 — The next conversation doesn't start from zero 11:20 — Shoot and execute — close START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content

    The Gift & The Curse🎭

You wanted it. You pushed for it. Now you got it — and it's asking you questions you weren't ready for. This episode is about what happens after the momentum hits. The skateboard from Kick Push is mounted on the wall now. That push became something real. But here's the part Lupe didn't put in the song — once you build something, it starts requiring things from you. Time. Decisions. Energy you thought you'd have more of by now. That's the gift and the curse living in the same room. The office is still unfinished. Not because the work stopped — because it didn't. Construction everywhere while something permanent already hangs on the wall. That's the tension. You're maintaining what you built while still building. Nobody tells you those run at the same time. This one is for anybody who got what they asked for and realized the ask didn't stop there. The weight and the win are the same thing. You don't resent it. You recognize it. One BAR at a time. Subscribe wherever you listen. New episodes drop weekly. Follow @RoyalTey across platforms for the daily push. IN THIS EPISODE: • Getting what you asked for — and the responsibility that arrives with it • The AI-space test, taken without his tools • School late, the degree, the app, Brand Architectz — everything converging at once • Recognizing the season you're in, and what's stored for the next one • Building it and carrying it at the same time CHAPTERS: 0:01 — Thank you God: ten toes down 0:52 — The responsibility that comes with getting it popping 1:24 — Stumbling into the AI space: the test 3:27 — School late in life: the purpose wasn't clear yet 4:23 — The bachelor's, the podcast system, going all in 5:22 — The Daily BARZ app: attention vs. momentum 7:20 — Brand Architectz surfacing 9:42 — Recognizing the season you're in 11:42 — We don't believe in falling off — fix the screws, get back to it 12:45 — It's your time — time's not to play with 13:40 — Carrying it while still building it 15:23 — A new season ahead 16:20 — Get active in the Execution Room — close START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content

You don't need everything figured out to move forward. That's the lie that keeps people stuck — waiting for the perfect moment, the finished product, the sign that says 'now you're ready.' But real progress? It happens in the mess. In the middle. While the scaffolding is still up. This episode of The Daily BARZ Club draws from Lupe Fiasco's iconic 'Kick, Push' — a track that understood something most people miss: the journey IS the destination. Every push forward counts, even when you can't see the finish line. Royal Tey breaks down why momentum matters more than completion. Why the people actually building something meaningful aren't waiting for permission or perfect conditions. They're moving. Adjusting. Learning in motion. If you've been hesitating because things don't look 'ready' yet — this one's for you. Progress is already happening. Your only job is to keep pushing. Walk away from this episode feeling grounded, clear, and confident enough to build without apology. Subscribe to The Daily BARZ Club. New episodes drop daily. Follow Royal Tey for more raw perspective on growth, mindset, and momentum. IN THIS EPISODE: • Lupe's "Kick, Push": the journey is the destination • Moving the finish line every time he got close — and catching himself doing it • Momentum covers more ground than the plan did • Enjoying the process vs. staring into the distance • Progress happens in the middle, scaffolding still up CHAPTERS: 0:00 — Kick, push: we ain't cutting corners 1:21 — Who this is for: hustlers, students, 9-to-5ers 3:00 — Tripping out: a lot of what I wanted a year ago 3:46 — Moving the finish line every time 4:02 — The Lupe loop: hearing somebody enjoy the process 5:03 — Momentum's strange way of covering ground 5:46 — Missing what's already happened 6:16 — Trust the process, keep moving 7:00 — The Facebook group — tap in 8:16 — You ain't the lonely one — close START HERE: Every Daily BARZ Club link in one place — https://linktr.ee/thedailybarzclub Royal Tey / Malcolm Wallace — https://malcolmwallace.dev Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-daily-barz-club/exclusive-content
