The Heare Brotherhood Podcast

Heare Co.

The Heare Brotherhood mission is to forge a global brotherhood of support and growth. What started as a vision and a dream has turned into a global brotherhood, with members from over 50 countries in every habitable continent. We are creating a space where men can connect, support and strengthen each other, shoulder life’s burdens together, and realize that we are not alone on our journeys as men, as fathers, as brothers, as sons. We dive into authentic conversations, with some laughs and some tears, covering topics like: What is true masculinity? What is true brotherhood? How to connect more deeply with ourselves, others, and our higher power. What tools, concepts, and practices help us live our lives more fully. How to become more present and authentic. How intentional vulnerability demonstrates strength and courage. We also give you a sneak peek into how we as the founders – John Moore, Justin Brey, Michael Allen, and Jason Rogers – have built this brotherhood. You’ll see some raw moments, some stories of success and failure, and some twists and turns of seeking to fulfill our mission of forging a global brotherhood of support and growth. We are here to hear. Thanks for listening to and supporting the Heare Brotherhood podcast.

Dr. Dan Hoopes | rare condition that delayed puberty, didn't feel like a real man, wounds become wisdom, balancing masculine and feminine

Dr. Dan Hoopes shares a vulnerable story of growing up without "growing up" in the typical sense – he was not reaching maturity milestones and was often wondering what was wrong with him. He had a rare condition that delayed entering into puberty until his late teens, even after high school graduation. He tried to hide and push down the feelings around being left behind, he wore masks of being masculine, but buried his worries, feelings of inadequacy, and comparisons. Eventually he was properly diagnosed, treated, and suddenly grew dramatically in height and weight, but it still didn't feel like a real man. His journey to manhood had felt artificial.  Years after stuffing it down, he began to do the healing work. He reconnected with his inner child – with that boy who had carried so much. He didn't feel embarrassed or ashamed of him, he was deeply moved by all this boy had done and carried for so long. He began to feel more deeply, to be okay with tears which he had avoided expressing his whole life, and found healing with himself, his past, and with his masculinity.  Dan wrote about his journey in a book called "Worthy of the Boy: Your Wounds Can Become Your Wisdom" and is currently writing a book about the balance of the divine masculine and feminine.  Follow Dan on instagram Visit Dan's website Connect with us: hearebros.com Instagram LinkedIn
