What Are You Trusting to Make You Feel Secure?

The average person sees thousands of ads every day, and every one of them is saying the same thing: you need more. More security, a nicer-looking life, the next experience, the newest thing. But what happens when all of it still leaves you wanting? In this episode of Counterculture, Katie and Michael talk about money, discontentment, and the greed most of us don't think we struggle with. They walk through the story of Zacchaeus, a wealthy, greedy tax collector who gave up his dignity to climb a tree and see Jesus, and whose whole view of money changed once Jesus called his name. They also unpack Paul's secret to being content in every season, and share the everyday habits they use to fight discontentment. Here's the big idea: contentment isn't found, it's learned, and it starts with seeing Jesus as worth more than anything else. So what are you trusting to make you feel secure?🔔 Subscribe so you don't miss more podcasts to help deepen your faith.💬 Still have a question? Who's Carrying Your Mat?

Our culture says strength means handling it on your own. Keep your struggles private, don't ask for help, and find a crowd that lets you "live a little." But what if the people around you are quietly pulling you further from Jesus? In this episode of Counterculture, Katie and Michael talk honestly about the difference between worldly community and godly community. Katie shares her own one-foot-in, one-foot-out college story, and together they look at the friends in Mark 2 who carried a paralyzed man to Jesus, along with the early church's picture of shared life in Acts 2.Here's the big idea: to have godly community, you have to build it. That means seeking out people who point you to Jesus and becoming that kind of friend for someone else. So who's carrying your mat, and whose mat are you carrying?Scripture: Mark 2:1–12, Acts 2:42–47, Galatians 6:2🔔 Subscribe so you don't miss more podcasts to help deepen your faith.💬 Still have a question? Counterculture: Fear of Man vs. Fear of the Lord

Whose approval matters more — man's or God's?We're kicking off a brand new series at REVO called Counterculture — honest conversations about what it looks like to follow Jesus in a world with a very different set of values. In this first episode, Katie and Michael dig into a question that shapes almost everything else: are you living for people's approval, or God's?We all do it. We chase approval at work, in our friendships, on social media, in dating, with family — and it never actually satisfies. So what does it look like to fear God instead of man? Not "fear" like being scared, but a deep, life-shaping awe that actually sets you free. We look at Daniel's refusal to bend to a changing culture, contrast it with the Pharisees who cared more about looking good than being good, and land on a challenge from Galatians 1:10: who are you really trying to please? This is the first episode in our Counterculture series — coming up we'll get into community, money, work & rest, identity, social media, singleness & dating, and forgiveness. Glad you're here for it.🔔 Subscribe so you don't miss more podcasts to help deepen your faith.💬 Still have a question? Growing Pains | Still Standing: Faith When Life Gets Really Hard

Some seasons of life are just hard. And sometimes it feels like the hard things don't stop coming. In this episode of Growing Pains, we sit down with Noah for one of the most honest conversations we've had in this series. He opens up about what it looks like to carry real weight as a student — and what faith actually looks like when circumstances aren't changing and answers aren't coming. This one isn't tied up neatly. But we think that's exactly why you need to hear it. _______________________________ 🙋 NEW HERE?We'd love to meet you! What Does It Actually Cost to Follow God Overseas?

What does it look like to leave everything behind and serve God in a country where you don't speak the language, can't read your shampoo bottle, and have to smile through 7 minutes of unchewable mystery meat?Kenya Larned joins us from Bogotá, Colombia, where she's been serving for the past six months at El Camino Academy — a Christian school training up the next generation of Colombian leaders with a biblical worldview. In this episode, Kenya shares what God has been teaching her about being rooted in Him, what it was really like teaching kindergarten, the moments that broke her and the moments that filled her back up — and why she just accepted the high school principal position for next year._________________________ Watch our first podcast with Kenya where we talked all about what she does in Colombia! https://youtu.be/HxrRcPNTZcc?si=EpUYkB1gVKL-L6Zs WAYS TO BE INVOLVED: 1.)  Pray- Commit to pray for Colombia, El Camino Academy and Kenya Larned.
