YNC: Haggai + Jesus curses the fig tree (Fight against Procrastination)

Welcome to the Young + Chosen Bible Study on Haggai Chapter 1:  3 in Connection Prophet ~ Haggai Ruler ~ Zerubbabel  Priest ~ Joshua God called out the laziness and procrastination/selfishness God sometimes stops whatever you have in motion so you can refocus on Him Your work will be in vain if you do not involve God in it After hearing the message from the Lord, the people obeyed  God is with you and will give you strength for his projects Questions  Do we reflect how we dress ourselves and leave God naked?  In other words, do we take care of ourselves first and leave God as an afterthought? Where is God in your lives? Do you place God in a box or in your heart? Through The Word (Biblical commentary): In returning to God, our souls are restored Worldly productive vs spiritually lazy: people were fixing their nation but leaving the temple in ruins When you put God second, things don't work out (frustration) Get to serving the Lord and He will be with you Chapter 2: V3: 7 months in dont compare you results to past keep building to make something beautiful with what you know now be strong and brave even when thing look grime God will remind you of his promise to you Shaking anything and everything for keeping his promise in keep you even sending His Spirit Materials/look doesn't matter, but the intention and purpose for finishing the project does. For everything is from and made by God and belongs to Him  New creation with God will be more beautiful than the last blessing not only you but his other children 9 months  What good is building the temple if people's hearts are corrupted / unclean Think carefully about how you want to execute God's plans When you try to mess with God, He will send correction, but if you repent, He will bless In obedience to God, we will be blessed and given authority and chosen, so enemies will be destroyed Do not compare and gloat for more when God already deems your work worthy Through The Word (Biblical commentary): V4: To doubters, God says  Be strong and work for I am with you BE strong and  Work for God is with you Gives a glimpse of the future and how it will be more glorious than the last and will be a place of peace (Jesus) All the power is from God not us Can not live a life with a dirty heart and do clean things for God (personal example: David's kill count compared to Solomon) Comparison (Matt. 21:18–22; Mark 11:12–14, 20–25) If you are not aligned with Jesus and give off a persona (fig tree looking ready to eat), that you are Jesus will call you out on it. But when you walk closely with God, you will produce fruit and build unstoppable faith!

YNC: 3 John + Mark 2 (Jesus heals a paralyzed man)

3 John (Jesus heals a paralyzed man) + Mark 2 Welcommee this episode is For My Best!! Here are some reflective questions: What does your friend group say about you? How supportive or destructive are they truly? Be Hospitality and supportive for traveling teachers ( 5–8): encourage welcoming, providing for itinerant teachers and ministers. Warning about false teachers and divisive leaders (3 John 9–10): identify and call out ungodly or prideful leaders who refuse help and exclude others. Distinguish good vs. evil by God’s standards, not personal opinion; fruit of actions reveals spiritual alignment (3 John 11). Value of face-to-face fellowship over only digital communication (3 John 13–15). Analogy + comparison Sheep vs. goat: sheep follow the shepherd (trust and unity), goats act independently and cause division — self-examination of whether one follows Christ or rebellion/worldly impulses. (Mark 2:1-12)  Story of friends lowering the paralyzed man through the roof to Jesus: importance of godly friends who bring others to Christ; faith of friends leads to healing and forgiveness. Bonus: Philemon story: forgiveness and using authority for restoration rather than abuse (Onesimus example). Goals + Takeaways Build and maintain a godly community: friends and church should encourage spiritual growth, accountability, and mutual support. Be hospitable and generous to those serving the gospel; practical care matters. Recognize and confront ungodly leadership or divisive behavior when necessary, protecting the community. Choose relationships that lead you closer to Jesus; don’t idolize creation or prioritize worldly influence that lead you away from Christ. We are called to be sheep so let us lean on our shepherd. New Epiphany, Thank you, Jesus! Who is your leader?  What are you prone to following? Based on your fruit (lifestyle) would you say it produces good or evil outcomes?  Sheep wait and listen to their shepherd depending on them for everything Defense  Shelter  Food  Goat runs on pride and self-ambition seeking solely on themselves Bonus: Though a group of animals are a flock, not every flock works as a community. As children of God we have to learn to share the title and workload under Christ (Letting Jesus lead and be our shepherd). Learn to share a name and space like sheep leaning on our shepherd unlike the goats who lead the goatherd and fend for themselves.   So the question is are you a sheep or goat? Is God your shepherd or goatherd?
