Episode 12: Finding Power in Healing with Kristen Cordero

Welcome back to Grief in Motherhood, a space where we hold truth and tenderness side by side. I’m Kaitlin, and today I’m joined by someone whose story and work are rooted in deep healing and powerful transformation. My guest, Kristen Cordero, is a Therapist and Trauma-Conscious Embodiment Coach. She’s an empath, nature lover, and proud fur mama to a dog and two cats. Kristen is also a daughter of refugees, an endometriosis warrior, and an intergenerational cycle-breaker. Through her work, Kristen helps women uncover their inner power—to live life on their own terms, heal ancestral trauma, and navigate their fertility journeys with more peace, empowerment, and joy. In this conversation, we explore how grief, trauma, and motherhood intersect—and how the path of embodiment can bring both resilience and restoration. This is an episode filled with wisdom, gentleness, and hope. I’m so honored to welcome Kristen to the podcast.   About Kristen:   Kristen is an empath, nature lover and fur mama to a dog and two cats. She is a proud daughter of refugees, endometriosis warrior and intergenerational cycle-breaker. She is a Therapist and Trauma-Conscious Embodiment Coach who works with women to find their inner power to live a life on their own terms. Her mission is to help women heal their deep wounds, face their fears, shed layers of societal conditioning, break the cycles of ancestral trauma. She loves working with women who are going through their fertility journeys, like herself, to heal and find more peace, empowerment and joy. Her approach is deeply rooted in the belief that you are not broken and that your pain is not a pathology. Episode 11: Love Beyond Loss: Navigating Life After Losing Triplets

In this deeply moving episode, I’m joined by Elle Margetson, a mama whose story is one of unimaginable loss, resilience, and hope. Elle is the mother of four beautiful babies—her triplets, Noah, Eden, and Hudson, who tragically passed away after their premature births at 23+2 and 23+6 weeks, and her rainbow baby boy, Sonny, born in 2023. Elle shares the raw truth of what it’s like to lose multiples, the unique layers of grief that come with that experience, and the loneliness she felt when she realised there was little support for loss mamas walking this path. Drawing on her background in mental health, Elle became a therapist for grieving mothers around the world—turning her pain into purpose. We talk about: Elle’s journey through the devastating loss of her triplets The specific challenges and emotions that come with losing multiples Finding ways to honour your babies and keep their memory alive How becoming a therapist for loss mamas has been part of her healing The arrival of her rainbow baby, Sonny, and the complex emotions that followed This conversation is for every mama who feels alone in her grief, especially those who’ve experienced the loss of more than one baby at once. Elle’s courage in sharing her story is a reminder that even in the deepest heartbreak, there can still be moments of connection, purpose, and healing.   Connect with Elle: Instagram: @ellemargetsonhypnotherapy

Episode 5: Real, Raw, and Beautiful: A Conversation Between Bereaved Mothers

Hey mama. It’s me,  Kaitlin. In this episode, I sit down with Sarah Mayfield for an open-hearted conversation about motherhood, loss, and the journey of grief. Together, we share the raw, unfiltered realities of life after loss—the pain, the love, and the resilience it takes to keep going. This is not just a discussion about grief; it’s about honoring our children, embracing healing, and finding beauty in the brokenness. If you’ve experienced loss or know someone who has, this episode is a reminder that you are not alone. There is space for your grief, your love, and your healing. Tune in for a deeply personal and powerful conversation.  A little bit about Sarah: Sarah struggled to find informed grief services for her son, Bradley, after the death of his brother, Elliot. Today, Sarah’s passion is supporting bereaved youth and families while promoting grief awareness.  Sarah is a Compassionate Bereavement Care™ Certified Provider, is Certified in Thanatology (Association for Death Education and Counseling), and has been a Nationally Certified Counselor since 2007. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Counselor Education from the University of Virginia.  In her previous nine years as an elementary school counselor, Sarah loved reading picture books aloud to classes on the carpet. It was through the students’ reactions to these books that she discovered a passion for an earnest message packaged in a confident, rewarding rhythm. Sarah's debut book, This Sure Thing, is her family's passion project for bolstering awareness of childhood grief as well as the importance of continuing bonds with loved ones after death. Sarah finds joy in upcycling forsaken furniture, getting lost in the plants (and weeds) of her yard, dancing unapologetically in the kitchen with her husband and kids, and remembering the motto, “Love never fails.”   Connect with Sarah Website-- livethatlove.com Linkedin--https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarah-mayfield-med-ncc-ct-206633247/ Facebook--https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100073560866174&mibextid=LQQJ4d   Connect with Me E-mail: griefinmotherhood@gmail.com Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefinmotherhood Instagram @grief.in.motherhood YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@griefinmotherhood   Resources https://forgetmenotbaskets.com/ https://www.instagram.com/givingmeiracles/ https://www.instagram.com/grief.in.motherhood/ https://pregnancyafterlosssupport.org/ https://www.measuretheplacenta.org/
