Bread For The Soul March 27

Welcome to Devotional Talk, where we find God’s grace in our life’s always changing peaks and valleys through His unchanging Word. I’m so excited to begin a new series of devotionals with you. It is from a book titled Bread for the Soul: Nourishing Your Faith Daily, a devotional that feeds our hearts with daily truth. Today, we’re diving into the March 27th reading by Hugh M. Cartwright, a Scottish minister whose writings always point us to Christ’s sufficiency. This entry confronts us with a sobering truth: God, rebuking us in our moments of unbelief, calls us to trust Him more deeply. I’ve been challenged by this reflection—it’s a reminder that even in our doubts, God’s faithfulness remains. Whether you’re wrestling with unbelief or standing firm, let’s hear this word together and let it nourish our souls. Join me as we reflect on God’s call to greater faith!” For a deeper dive: https://devotionaltalk.wordpress.com/ I’m on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@devotionaltalkpodcast?si=oQ1jMtvaNIYagOk9

    Crucifixion and Resurrection

Welcome to a special Easter Sunday episode of Devotional Talk. He is risen! —— He is risen indeed! Today we will find hope in life’s peaks and valleys by examining God’s unchanging truth through the death and resurrection of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Today, we’re turning to page 172 of The Valley of Vision for a prayer called ‘Crucifixion and Resurrection.’ This Puritan gem captures the heart of Easter—the cross where our sin was slain and the empty tomb where death lost its sting. It’s a day to stand in awe of Christ’s sacrifice and shout with joy at His victory. As we read this, we should be struck by how it pulls us to the foot of the cross and then lifts us to the dawn of resurrection life. In a world of trials, this is our anchor: He died, He rose, and we’re forever His. So, join me as we reflect on this prayer—let it sink deep and stir our souls to worship. Voices From the Past Aug 28

Welcome to Devotional Talk, where we seek to find God’s grace through prayer and worship by reading some truly inspirational devotional books. For today’s episode, we turn to Voices From the Past and a gem from Thomas Case’s Treatise of Affliction. This is the August 28th reading. Case invites us to see God’s loving hand even in our trials. Like the infamous psalmist David, this Puritan pastor knew suffering firsthand, and his words point us to the refining fire of affliction that draws us closer to Christ. Join me as we read, reflect, and rest in the truth that God’s ways, though sometimes hard, are always good. Let’s step into this together! A Minister’s Praises

Welcome back to Devotional Talk, where we find strength in God’s grace through every high and low. Today, we’re turning to a beautiful prayer from The Valley of Vision called ‘A Minister’s Praises,’ found on page 344. This entry should speak to our hearts. It reminds us that even as we face the trials and temptations of this world, God calls us to lift our voices in praise with exceeding joy. Not because life is easy, but because He is worthy. Written in that rich Puritan style, this prayer points us to the unshakable goodness of our Savior, who carries us through.
