    Is Creativity Telepathic?

I did a drawing.   Two days later, a museum emailed me with "a situation."   That synchronicity became the beginning of an electrifying art adventure through Venice Biennale, Malta Biennale, and ancient temples older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids.   In this episode of Female Frequency Podcast, I explore why I believe the art world is experiencing a spiritual revival—not spirituality as religion, but spirituality as perception.   From Marina Abramović's crystal installations to Judy Chicago's cast glass goddess, this conversation explores resonance, intuition, symbolism, emotional frequency, and the hidden ways art shapes memory, identity, and transformation.     I also share field notes from: — Venice Biennale 2026: In Minor Keys curated by Koyo Kouoh — Malta Biennale — Marina Abramović's Transforming Energies — Judy Chicago's The Materiality of Judy Chicago — ancient temples and feminine divine iconography older than the pyramids     What if creativity is doing more than self-expression?   What if art helps us access parts of ourselves language cannot always reach?     FOR ARTISTS: In our last episode, curator Carrie Scott reminded artists to be authentic—and sometimes that is the hardest thing to do. Creativity invites us into the hidden chambers of our own inner archaeology: memory, intuition, identity, grief, desire, and perception.     FOR COLLECTORS: The works you live with are your orbit. They shape atmosphere, memory, emotional frequency, and the architecture of your daily life.     This episode is my field report from Venice, Malta, ancient temples, crystal installations, synchronicities, and the growing feeling that creativity may be doing much more than we realize.   If the art world has felt emotionally flat, over-commercialized, or disconnected lately—this conversation is about what is beginning to return.     To help you live the fullest expression of yourself check out the Full Blossom flower elixir: http://lotuswei.com/ffp   Subscribe on YouTube @femalefrequencyproductions   Visit our website: thefemalefrequency.com Follow the Frequency on Instagram: @thefemalefrequency   + Artists workshop for thriving in public art commissions ➺Get Answers!   + Studio Glass Movement Happenings with Ocean Eleven ➺See!   If you like the painting behind me - contact  me today to acquire: hello@thefemalefrequency.com

Artists, Collectors, Getting Seen with Carrie Scott

I've been at the negotiating table—representing artists, museums, galleries, and vendors—and I can tell you this: the art world runs on undefined rules—and people still expect you to know them.   If you've ever asked, "Is this normal for a gallery to demand this?"—you're not alone. You're navigating a blurry system where dynamics shift in a heartbeat.   This is exactly why this conversation matters right now—when grant applications are due, calls for residencies are open, and art fair season is here.   In this episode, I sit down with art advisor Carrie Scott to talk about how she's advising artists and collectors in the current market. She's currently collaborating with The Christian Levett Collection and FAMM Museum Mougins, and is the founder of Seen.Art—an art collective for artists and collectors.   I could easily title this "Carrie: Unfiltered." It's a candid, behind-the-scenes conversation with a woman saying the loudest thought in her head instead of staying quiet, navigating a pinch of imposter syndrome, and showing how Seen.Art is helping create artist–collector relationships instead of dead-end transactions.   Bonus: She shares her top eight things artists should do to be seen and sold—and the newest resource she's building to help you.   Listen now to the Female Frequency Podcast with Jodie Nelson if you want professional advice—with a dash of art history—whether you're an artist or a collector.   Follow Carrie: @carriescottcurates Join the Seen membership: https://www.seen.art/   To help you live the fullest expression of yourself, check out the Full Blossom flower elixir: http://lotuswei.com/ffp   For artists looking to strengthen your story and your negotiation points on your public art contract - checkout -  Artist Guide to Public Art: Proposal to Contract    Subscribe on YouTube: @femalefrequencyproductions Visit our website: thefemalefrequency.com Follow the Frequency on Instagram: @thefemalefrequency

Rethink Light: How Better Lighting Transforms Wellness, Creativity, and Design with Julie Conway

What if the light around you is affecting your sleep, focus, mood, and creative energy more than you realize—and you've simply learned to live with it?   This conversation reframes lighting as more than a design choice—it's a wellness technology. In this Earth Day episode of Female Frequency Podcast, I sit down with award-winning glass artist and lighting designer Julie Conway to explore a powerful truth: Light is not neutral. It's a frequency shaping how we regulate, restore, and create. You need full spectrum light in your life.    As a curator, lighting has shaped my perspective from the very beginning. I learned early on that even a subtle shift in light can completely transform how a work is experienced—how color breathes, how form is revealed, and how long someone stays with a piece. Through my own health journey, that understanding deepened, revealing how the light in my kitchen was affecting my adrenals and creative output.   Julie has dedicated her life to understanding how we can thrive in a world of fast food, fast fashion—and fast design—without compromising our health. Her work brings light and beauty into the world through sculptural glass lighting that transforms environments—from luxury hospitality spaces, including Four Seasons, to statement residential interiors—into places that support both beauty and wellbeing.   We live in a culture where lighting is often chosen for convenience or aesthetics alone. Cheap, flickering artificial light has become the norm in homes, studios, offices, and public spaces—and most people never question it.   In this episode, we explore: • Why artificial lighting is affecting your nervous system • What full-spectrum lighting actually is—and why it matters now • Why brighter light is not always better for wellbeing • How lighting impacts creativity, focus, and energy • What to look for when upgrading lighting in your home, studio, or workspace • How sculptural glass lighting transforms both the aesthetic and lived experience of a space   If you want to create spaces that actively support health, beauty, and performance—this episode will change the way you think about light.   🎁 Use coupon code ILLUMINATAGLASS for special pricing: https://healthlighting.com/ Explore Julie Conway's lighting solutions: https://illuminataglass.com/ ✨ Tune in to discover how better lighting can elevate the way we live, work, and create.

Why Seeing Art as Object Is Holding You Back

In this solo episode of the Female Frequency Podcast, I share why seeing art as an object is holding you back. I experience art as a frequency—an emotional response that shifts something in you. I stopped writing about the life I wanted— and started making decisions from it. I am someone who kept diaries from The Artist's Way art dates, and then made them a lifestyle. For over 25 years, I've held titles like museum curator and gallery director. But those are categories. They don't describe the heart of the work. Because the truth is: Art isn't just an object. It's an emotional response. I'm Jodie Nelson—a feminist, curator, and advisor to artists and collectors—and I started curating in 1999. Some of you know I began to raise awareness for river conservation. What most people don't know is that it started in Nepal. Camera in hand, I was on a divine assignment to meet Shiva—and met Shakti and Tara instead. That experience sculpted how I see art, creativity, and life. It marked one of the ways I came to understand art as frequency—shaped through sacred places, lived experience, and direct encounter. In this episode, I answer questions listeners have asked me about my career, creativity, and what it actually looks like to live an embodied creative life.  If you've felt like there's more to your creativity than what you've been told—this is for you. In this episode: • Awakening to my felt senses  • Why you're confusing fear for intuition—and how to stop • The work by Judy Chicago that inspired me  • What it actually looks like to live an embodied creative life If you want a deeper relationship with your creativity, this conversation will meet you there. Growth Edges of Intuition: Becoming Your You-est You with Julie Reisler

Intuition speaks differently to everyone. For intuitive coach Julie Reisler, it arrives like a wild mustang you learn to ride. In this episode of the Female Frequency Podcast, Julie and I explore the growth edges of intuition—how responding to builds confidence, how messy seasons of life often carry the clearest guidance, and how her recovery journey led her to write her first book, Get a PhD in YOU: A Course in Miraculous Self-Discovery. Julie's work helps people unlock, uncover, and unleash their You-est You®. As a board-certified coach, TEDx speaker, host of the popular  You-est You® Podcast, faculty member at Georgetown University, and founder of the Intuitive Life Designer® Coach Academy, she combines spirituality, science, and coaching to help you design your life aligned with your highest purpose. Everyone receives intuition differently, but it's the same inner intelligence—a return to the senses. Julie describes her intuition as a wild mustang—not something to control, but something you learn to ride as trust grows. For me, inner knowing often arrives through a smell or a color appearing at the exact moment I need to pay attention. Different signals. Same intelligence. Intuition is not only about listening—it's about allowing a deeper relationship with receiving. To support you more directly, Julie closes the episode with a live meditation on gratitude, the medicine of laughter, and the practice of receiving—a reset you can experience, not just think about! Trusting What Wants to Be Seen with Amy Senn

You can ignore your creativity for a while. But your body can't. This episode is about creative reclamation — and trusting both the whisper and the reckoning.   In this episode of Female Frequency, I sit down with monumental sculptor Amy Senn to explore what happens when you stop forcing your path — and start listening.   When we travel, autopilot falls away. Old roles dissolve. New ways of seeing begin. That disruption is what Amy needed.   A pivotal trip became the turning point in her reclamation. It wasn't about ambition. It wasn't about scaling. It was about alignment — remembering who she was beneath the roles she had outgrown.   That decision changed everything. Today, her towering 9–16 foot sculptures bridge place, prayer, and embodied feminine power: • Ma — Elizaville, NY • Minerva — installed since 2017 at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors • Lilith — born in the forest during a profound awakening And here's the distinction that makes this episode powerful: Amy stopped trying to manifest. She started listening.   In this conversation, we explore: • Creative turning points that require courage • Divine feminine archetypes and blindspots • Trusting the whisper and tantrums   For artists: imagine creating from that frequency. For collectors: imagine living with work born from that depth.   If you've been pushing, overworking, or second-guessing your next move — this episode will help you recalibrate.   More about Amy Senn on instragram  @artofamysenn    To get of autopilot and into the fullest expression of yourself check out my recent offering Follow the Frequency Activations in Venice, Italy.    Check out Full Blossom Flower Elixir: http://lotuswei.com/ffp   Subscribe on YouTube @femalefrequencyproductions Visit our website: thefemalefrequency.com Follow the Frequency on Instagram: @thefemalefrequency #followthefrequency #artofamysenn #chapelofsacredmirrors #ma #lilith #minerva

Stitching Beauty into Boundaries with Sara Everett

What does it mean to mend what's been torn—across landscapes, ecosystems, and public trust? Sara Everett joins me to talk contracts, climate grief, and the healing power of art as resistance.   In this episode, I talk with Sara Everett—art consultant to real estate developers and printmaker—about her series Mending Measures, shaped by climate grief and policy shifts. We dive into her creative process, cyanotypes, her beloved sewing machine "Joy," the emotive frequency of color, and she shares her knowledge so artists can confidently advocate for themselves in public art projects and contracts. So nice!   🐦 Sara and I have teamed up for The Public Art Playbook: Top 10 Power Moves to Win Commissions, Negotiate Contracts, and Stop Working for Free. In My Art Collection

The gloves Judy Chicago gave me…   This episode takes you behind the scenes into my personal art collection—starting with a pair of gloves given to me by feminist icon Judy Chicago while helping her install Be No More at SF MoMA. It wasn't just a task—it was a turning point. I share what that moment taught me about trust, legacy, and creative leadership.   As we hit the halfway mark in the year, I invite you to reflect on the people and moments that helped shape you. I also share stories from other artists and spiritual seekers who've passed the torch in their own way—and how honoring them can fuel your next evolution   Let's do this together. Honor what formed you. Release no longer helps you.
