Still Evolving: Why Past Success Isn't Enough

Welcome to season three of Faceplants to Finish Lines. In this episode Chad explores what happens when life becomes comfortable and why past adversity, success, and personal growth don't mean you're finished evolving. Chad reflects on a period in his life when he realized he had become more comfortable than he wanted to be. After years of endurance racing, business challenges, fatherhood, and deliberately putting himself through difficult experiences, he asks a difficult question: what am I doing now that actually requires me to evolve? This episode explores the difference between remembering transformation and continuing transformation. Chad discusses how comfort can quietly lead to stagnation, why eustress can be a powerful tool for continued growth, and how physical challenges like endurance racing, strength training, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can expose patterns that still need work. What You'll Learn in This Episode · Why past adversity and achievement don't guarantee future growth · How comfort can quietly lead to stagnation · How physical challenges can reveal emotional patterns, ego, and fear · Why achievement can sometimes become a way to avoid deeper emotional work · How to use challenges as opportunities for awareness, reflection, and integration · Why continuing to evolve means being willing to become a beginner again The goal isn't simply to suffer more or chase another finish line. It's to become more disciplined, present, emotionally aware, adaptable, and integrated.
