Have You Messed Up Too Much for God?

Have you ever wished you could get a do-over? In this message, we pick up in Jonah 3, where the word of the Lord comes to Jonah a second time. Jonah ran, but God's grace chased him onto the ship, to the bottom of the sea, and into the belly of the fish. It was waiting for him on the shore. In this powerful message, we walk through three movements of grace: it finds us, it restores us, and it sends us. You'll learn: Why God's grace keeps pursuing you even when you run How to tell the enemy's voice of shame from the voice of the Holy Spirit Why failure doesn't automatically cancel the assignment God gave you Why a teachable heart is the key to receiving God's grace Why rescued people are sent to rescue people You can't mess up so big that your mistake is greater than His grace. God is the God of second chances, another chance, a slim chance, and even a fat chance. And when there's no chance at all, He shows up for that too. What would change if you stopped running and listened? Key Scriptures: Jonah 3:1–2, Mark 16:7, Proverbs 12:1, Romans 10:13 If this message encouraged you, like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs a second chance. #Jonah #SecondChance #GodsGrace #Grace #Sermon #VictoryLifeChurch #BattleCreek #HolySpirit #Faith #ChurchOnline 0:00 Grace Gives Us a Do-Over 5:34 Grace Finds Us 14:41 Grace Restores Us 20:47 Grace Sends Us, Stop Running We're glad you are joining us today! What to Do When You Hit Rock Bottom

What do you do when you’ve hit rock bottom, and you’re the reason you’re there? In this message, we follow Jonah to the very bottom of the sea. He went down to Joppa, down into the ship, down below deck, and finally down into the deep. That’s where the Lord provided a great fish. It didn’t look like rescue, but it was. The sea was supposed to kill him, and the fish was the provision that spared his life. From inside the fish, Jonah’s prayer shows us three things to do when we hit rock bottom. You’ll learn: Why your setback might actually be God’s rescue How to call on God from where you are, not where you wish you were The difference between responsibility and disqualification Why Jonah prayed the Psalms from the bottom of the sea Why you thank God before you ever reach dry land Jonah had no ship to board, no fare to pay and no way to rescue himself. What he had was the word of God in his heart and a God whose grace was reaching down. You’re never too deep and never too far to call out to Him. What truth do you need to store in your heart today to be ready for tomorrow’s storm? Key Scriptures: Jonah 1:17, Jonah 2:1-10, Hebrews 4:16, Philippians 4:6, Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13 0:00 When help doesn’t look like help 8:28 Call on God from where you are 16:11 Pray the word while you wait 21:57 Thank God before dry land 27:08 Prayer and invitation We're glad you are joining us today! The Book of Jonah Isn't About the Fish

What do you do when God's word to you is clear — and you just don't like it? In this message, we open the book of Jonah and find out the fish was never the point. Jonah is four chapters, one page, and the main character isn't the prophet — it's God. His grace pursues a rebellious prophet, a boat of pagan sailors, and one of the most violent cities in the ancient world. Most prophetic books are about the message the prophet delivers. Jonah's sermon is five words long. This book is about the prophet himself, and what God is willing to do to change his heart. You'll learn: Why Jonah's problem was never a lack of clarity from God What Nineveh actually was, and why the assignment was unthinkable How the meaning of Jonah's own name sets up the irony of the whole book Why God is working through you and on you at the same time What it looks like to stop running with your feet but keep running in your heart Jonah knew exactly who God was — gracious, compassionate, slow to anger. That's the reason he ran. He didn't want Nineveh to get what he wanted for himself. Over the next several weeks we're going to find out there's no place any of us can run where grace doesn't follow. Key Scriptures: Jonah 1:1-3, Jonah 3:4, Jonah 4:1-2, Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13 0:00   Not a fish story 6:25   God works on Jonah 11:49  Clear word, unwilling heart 17:52  Nineveh and the grace Jonah feared 23:22  Prayer and invitation We're glad you are joining us today!
