Turning A Year Older - How Someone Shows Up

For the very first episode of the podcast, I’m inviting my boyfriend as my first guest for a deeply personal conversation about something that seems simple but carries so much meaning: birthdays. We go all the way back to childhood, to the excitement, the expectations, the unforgettable moments, and the memories that shaped how we experience being celebrated. From childhood gifts that were completely unexpected, to birthday moments so overwhelming that everyone at the party ended up crying for the "wrong reasons" we explore the emotional side of these milestones to the joy, the disappointment, the surprises, and even the painful memories we carry with us. We talk about growing up, watching movies like Titanic as children and the emotions those experiences created, and how the way we celebrate life changes as we get older. What once felt like a day about presents becomes something much deeper: a reflection of how loved, seen, and valued we feel. The conversation also explores what it means to have someone beside you who genuinely celebrates your existence and not just on your birthday, but in everyday life. Someone who shows up, puts in effort, and makes you feel like your life is worth celebrating. Because sometimes, if you want to understand what someone truly feels for you, look at how they show up for your birthday. This episode is about memories, love, vulnerability, childhood wounds, gratitude, and the small moments that reveal the biggest truths about the people in our lives.
