How Do You Find Your Spiritual Allies? A Witch & A Shaman explore Spirit Allies

Text the Show A crystal catches your eye, an herb keeps showing up in your yard, or a particular animal won’t leave your thoughts. Is that random, or is it relationship? We lean into a community question that goes straight to the heart of nature-based spirituality: how do you choose your allies, the energies you work with in ritual, spell work, and daily practice, and what if they’re choosing you? We talk about “ally” as a living, energetic partnership with the natural world, whether that ally is an animal guide, a plant, an element, or a stone. For us, the foundation is consent and exchange: you bring intention and attention, and the ally brings its medicine, symbolism, and presence. Granddaughter Crow breaks down the idea of agreement through an energy lens, including how attraction can be a message, not just a preference. We also explore how your body can recognize a true fit before your mind can justify it, the same way you sometimes just know a friendship is real. Jenny C. Bell shares a standout animal guide story from early in her path: expecting a cat, getting nothing, then meeting a wolf, and later experiencing jaw-dropping confirmation at a wolf sanctuary when wolves repeatedly chose her. From there, we widen the view to herbal allies that appear, crystals that seem to call you off the shelf, and a simple practice that works whether you’re brand new or deeply seasoned: follow curiosity. Curiosity and intuition often move together, and you don’t need a perfect reason to start listening. If you’ve been waiting for a clear sign, this conversation gives you a grounded way to notice what’s already reaching for you. Subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us: what ally keeps showing up in your life right now?  #SpiritAllies #NatureSpirituality #Intuition  Support the show Granddaughter Crow - www.granddaughtercrow.com Check Out My Patreon https://www.patreon.com/GranddaughterCrow  Check Out My Substack https://substack.com/@granddaughtercrow Social Media: @GranddaughterCrow  YouTube Channel: @GranddaughterCrow Jenny C Bell - https://www.jennycbell.com/ Jenny’s Our Coven Community https://our-coven.mn.co/landing For more from Jenny: https://linktr.ee/Jennyc.bell?utm_source=linktree_profile_sharesid=ba12a9e9-bd17-4699-9e70-68c74fb3c96f

What is Slavic Paganism in the Words of a Serbian American | Anna Urošević Applegate author "Slava!"

Text the Show Rev. Anna Urošević Applegate sits down with Granddaughter Crow and Jenny C Bell to share. As a first-generation Serbian American, she grew up moving between languages, calendars, and expectations, carrying both the ache of otherness and the seed of a powerful spiritual skill: living in liminal space. We talk about how that early tension later becomes a doorway into ancestral reverence, animism, and Slavic polytheism that feels earthy, direct, and startlingly practical. Anna walks us through the Slavic world tree and the three realms of reality: Prav (the gods), Yav (the living world), and Nav (the underworld and the ancestors). We unpack why the underworld is not “evil” in this tradition, how darkness can be nourishing, and what it looks like to build right relationship with deities like Perun, Veles, and Mokosh through offerings, prayer, and place. Along the way, we connect these teachings to the present moment, including ecological spirituality, land spirits, water spirits, and the urgent need to stop treating nature as something we own.  We also get real about cultural appreciation versus cultural appropriation. Anna shares a clear, respectful approach for curious seekers and for people reclaiming Slavic heritage after generations of forced assimilation: learn the language, meet living communities, ask for guidance, and don’t “steal and sell” what isn’t yours. She also shares the years of research and family interviewing that shaped her book Slava!, including how caregiving and death work sharpened her sense of what lies beyond the veil, and why ancestors feel close, not gone. If this conversation moves you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave us a review so more people can find Belief Being and Beyond. Bio: Rev. Anna is passionate about fostering inclusive Rodnovery, or Slavic Native Faith, and is the founder of the Circle of Rodu, which promotes the ancestral reclamation of the worship of Slavic Deities throughout the global Slavic Diaspora. Do You Need a Spiritual Label? A Witch & a Shaman Talk Identity

Text the Show You don’t need to pick a box and live inside of it; you might need a label to express parts of self to others. We love to take on a community question we hear: do witches, pagans, and spiritual seekers actually need labels, or are all these titles just noise? From “crystal witch” to “eclectic witch,” we talk honestly about why naming your path can feel empowering at first, and why it can quietly become limiting when you cling to it.     We also get real about ego and identity. Jenny shares how years of releasing labels through spiritual practice can collide with modern pressure to declare a niche for social media, teaching, and creative work. Granddaughter Crow adds a grounded perspective on making “your ego your amigo,” recognizing the ego as a protective part of you while staying rooted in something deeper than a tagline.     One of the most powerful moments comes through a story about language and worldview, including Navajo and English ways of thinking. “Get to know a tree” becomes a mirror for how the left brain labels and separates, while a more relational way of knowing observes connection, presence, and the unseen forces moving through everything. If you’ve ever felt torn between finding your people and staying true to your own evolving practice, this conversation will help you hold both.     Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s questioning their spiritual identity, and leave us a review so more listeners can find the show.   #SpiritualIdentity #Witchcraft #AuthenticSpirituality  Support the show Granddaughter Crow - www.granddaughtercrow.com Check Out My Patreon https://www.patreon.com/GranddaughterCrow  Check Out My Substack https://substack.com/@granddaughtercrow Social Media: @GranddaughterCrow  YouTube Channel: @GranddaughterCrow Jenny C Bell - https://www.jennycbell.com/ Jenny’s Our Coven Community https://our-coven.mn.co/landing For more from Jenny: https://linktr.ee/Jennyc.bell?utm_source=linktree_profile_sharesid=ba12a9e9-bd17-4699-9e70-68c74fb3c96f

What Are Spirit Guides? A Witch & a Shaman Explore Spiritual Guidance

Text the Show We sit down for a community Q&A with Granddaughter Crow and Jenny C. Bell to unpack what spirit guides are, how a spirit guide team can include ancestors, animals, nature spirits, angels, deities, crystals, and more, and why none of it needs to fit into a spiritual hierarchy. We talk about how guides can even meet you in forms you can accept right now, and how that relationship can last for a season, a lifetime, or across many lifetimes. Then we get practical about how to talk to spirit guides. For us, it is not only meditation and candles. It is word and deed: an ongoing relationship you build through conversation and follow through. Jenny shares why she calls on “spirit guides of highest consciousness” for discernment, and we both break down how guides often respond through symbology and synchronicities like repeating numbers, songs on the radio, feathers on your path, tarot cards, and vivid dreams. We also name the impact of religious conditioning that discourages questions, and why asking for confirmation can be a healthy part of intuitive guidance. If you have ever wondered whether you are doing it “right,” this conversation brings you back to something simpler: unlearning, becoming more childlike, and noticing what is already speaking to you. Crystal Divination & Scrying | with Nicholas Pearson, Crystal Expert

Text the Show Ever picked up a stone and felt like it had something to say, but you weren’t sure how to listen? We’re joined by Nicholas Pearson, one of today’s leading voices in crystal healing and gemstone magic, to make crystal divination feel clear, grounded, and doable. We talk about his work on Crystal Divination and why the best results come from a surprising mix of structure, patience, and play.    We start with scrying, the classic crystal-gazing practice that looks simple on the surface and gets deeply nuanced the longer you stay with it. Nicholas walks us through what scrying actually is, what you might perceive when you soften your gaze, and how to set yourself up for a real experience without forcing fireworks. Along the way, we land on a principle that applies to every spiritual practice: curiosity is the best cure for attachment. When you stop demanding a specific outcome and start wondering, your intuition has room to speak.    Then we shift into lithomancy, or divination by drawing and casting stones. If tarot feels intimidating or you want a more hands-on method, casting stones can be a powerful alternative. We explore how to build a small curated set, how to read placement and patterns, and why the most important “tool” isn’t the stone at all, it’s the question you ask. We also hear what Nicholas is working on next, including his upcoming Reiki-focused writing.    Subscribe for more conversations like this, share the episode with a friend who loves crystals or divination, and leave a review so more curious listeners can find us. Bio: Nicholas Pearson is one of today's leading voices in crystal healing and gemstone magic. He is the author of more than ten books, including Crystal Basics, Stones of the Goddess, and The Witching Stones. What is Channeling? A Witch & A Shaman Explore Channeling

Text the Show This is a segment called A Witch & A Shaman (W&S) where Jenny C Bell & Granddaughter Crow sit down to answer questions. This question came to us from Our Coven Community, “Can you share more about channeling, your experience and how it works?” The weirdest moment can be the most revealing: you hear yourself say “we,” you choose words you never use, and afterward you wonder where that message came from. That is the doorway into today’s community Q and A, where we unpack channeling in a grounded way that respects both mystery and personal agency. Jenny C. Bell and I treat channeling as a spectrum, from subtle intuition and divination insights to deeper ritual states where you feel like a vessel for a presence, a deity, or a guiding intelligence.    We also widen the lens beyond witchcraft and shamanism. Channeling can look like creative flow, the muses, and inspiration, the feeling musicians describe when a concert turns spiritual and time disappears. If you have ever been so “in it” that you felt tuned to something bigger than your everyday mind, you already understand the core mechanic. From there, we get practical: we share the metaphors that help us stay in control, like turning a radio dial to a specific station or opening and closing a door on purpose.    Then we get serious about what keeps channeling safe: spiritual protection, clear boundaries, and consent. You get to decide what comes through and what does not. We talk about why inebriation can lower boundaries, how to set sacred space like you are hosting a guest, and why closing the space matters if you do not want to feel exhausted afterward. We also share aftercare essentials, including water, protein, rest, and reintegration time.    If you feel curious, that curiosity might be your signal that you are ready to develop your channeling practice with clarity and respect. Qigong & Magic for Grounding | with Rene Collins, Qigong Expert

Text the Show Your spiritual practice can be powerful and still leave you wiped out. If you’ve ever felt a ritual hangover, floated out of your body for days, or tried to “push through” with borrowed energy, this conversation is a reset. We’re joined by Rene Collins, a magician, musician, and long-time qigong practitioner who teaches Magical Qigong for the pagan community, and he brings a grounded, practical lens to energy, health, and real-world spiritual hygiene.     We talk about what qigong actually is: life force energy cultivation as a lifestyle, not a one-time fix. Rene shares his path through martial arts, meditation, and multiple magical traditions, plus a vivid story of blending qigong with Western magic during a circus storm. From there we get into why so many spiritual people feel ungrounded, how the hun and po can drift apart, and what it looks like to rebuild the body as the container for spirit.     Seasonal wisdom plays a big role too. Rene breaks down late summer and fall through the five elements, connecting digestion, lungs, boundaries, and protective energy. We explore how cooler weather and “veil season” can affect both immunity and energetic shielding, and why building your own internal “biosphere” matters. He also explains “casting on empty,” energy leaks, and false power, then offers a simple structure: foundational qigong before ritual, then again after, so you refill the battery instead of burning out.     If you want a body-based approach to magic, breathwork, grounding, and nervous system support, this one’s for you.
