In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego stood for truth in a culture, and against a government that was hostile to their values. They were willing to go into the fire if necessary.  God didn't spare them the FROM the furnace but He was with them IN the fire. In today's culture, standing for truth may be challenging. The world around us is hostile to the Word of God and to biblical values. But we are called to be salt and light. (Matthew 5: 13-16) God has placed us at this time in history on purpose and for a purpose.  Join us as we get better equipped to address civics and culture from a biblical worldview.

    Primaries and Midterms w/ Alison Furno

    This week, Debi is joined by Alison Furno, a political strategist and volunteer leader with Dream City Civics Alison provides an overview of what a midterm election is and what a primary election is. Debi and Alison discuss why primary elections are so important and why Christians should engage in the process. They discuss how voting can help Arizona become a Christian state. Alison and Debi also break down the different types of petitions that people are asked to sign. There are candidate petitions, ballot initiative petitions, and online or text petitions asking you to support an issue.  They explain what each of these types of petitions do and what you should be aware of before signing.  Finally, they discuss a new elected official prayer guide. You type in your address and find out who represents you at every level of government.     Free Speech on Campus w/ Bernadette Tasy Huang

    This week, Debi is joined by Bernadette Tasy Huang Bernadette is now a speech therapist, but she shares her incredible experience on her college campus as a Students for Life chapter leader.   She talks about a professor who pulled students out of class to erase her club's pro-life chalk messaging. Her club had permission to do the chalk display. This led to her being involved in a lawsuit against this professor. Bernadette also talks about an amazing story of how her club's activities saved a life and how her lawsuit led her to work for a time at ADF Debi and Bernadetter discuss the work of Students for Life, the violence and vandalism that pro-life groups face on campus and how important it is for students to push back when free speech is threatened.     Campus Missionaries w/ Megan Kronstedt

    This week, Debi is joined by Megan Kronstedt, Youth Alive Missionary for the Arizona Assemblies of God Megan shares her story of being called to missions during a Fine Arts youth service and how that led her to Youth Alive.   Megan explains the four core areas of Youth Alive and how they help equip students to share the gospel at their schools.  This can be done through one-on-one evangelism, group huddles, school clubs, prayer, and outreach projects.   Megan and Debi talked about the pushback that students and clubs can get from those who don't want to see the gospel shared on campus. Megan talks about the importance of Youth Alive training, the Assemblies of God position papers and being connected to a local youth pastor.     Elections by the Numbers w/ George Khalaf

    Imago Dei w/ Eden Vandenboom

    This week, Debi is joined by her youngest daughter, Eden Vandenboom Debi and Eden discuss Imago Dei, being made in the image of God.  This includes inherent human dignity, ethical decision making, stewardship, relationships and creativity.    They specifically discuss the role of creativity.   Eden talks about growing up participating in Fine Arts and how that program helps students discover, develop and deploy their God-given gifts and talents. Through this program she has developed and deployed an amazing gift of script writing. They discuss some of the dangers of AI as it relates to Imago Dei.  Technology is a tool, neither good or evil, but it is important that through its use, we retain our human dignity, ethical decision making, stewardship, relationships and our creativity.     ESA Battles w/ Matt Beieinberg

    This week, Debi is joined by Matt Beieinberg, Director of Education Policy at Goldwater Institute Matt and Debi discuss ballot initiatives and the various ways that they end up on your ballot.  Arizona has unique laws related to ballot initiatives which make them nearly impossible to correct or remove. Because of this, far left organizations will spend millions of dollars to get radical initiatives on Arizona ballots and to deceive voters. The rule of thumb for propositions should be to decline to sign these petitions unless groups you trust are promoting them, and to err on the side of voting no if you are uncertain about their effect. Matt and Debi also discuss the state's nationally acclaimed ESA program and the wildly inaccurate and dishonest reporting that has been used to target this popular program. They discuss the current efforts to get an anti-ESA initiative on the ballot that would decimate the program and harm Arizona families.
