    I Forgot I Was Right-Handed

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, the Hot Flashes are hot flashing and the self-awareness is... questionable. 😅 Des's Hot Flash is aimed directly at her mom's dog, Sadie. This little queen eats food off a napkin, sleeps in the bed, requires lap privileges in the car, and generally operates like she's a celebrity with contractual demands. It got us thinking... when it's your own kid or dog, their quirks are adorable. When it's someone else's, you're wondering who approved this behavior. 👑🐶 Cort's Hot Flash is for the people who absolutely must share their opinion while you're trying to do something. You know the type. Instead of helping, they stand there narrating what you're doing wrong. Cort realizes she may have been guilty of this herself and is making a public commitment to simply help next time. We also talk about the new Hulu show Alice and Steve, which has us hooked. A lifelong friendship takes a turn when Steve starts dating Alice's daughter. It's awkward. It's messy. It's fascinating. Add it to your watch list immediately. 📺 Then we discuss one of the great marriage debates of our time. Josh thinks Cort is completely insane for washing dishes in cold water. Cort insists she's just planning ahead because she's saving the hot water for a long shower afterward. Strategic thinking or questionable life choice? The jury is still out. And then we revisit a golf story that still makes us laugh. During a scramble last year, a left-handed golfer had just putted. Des stepped up, took a left-handed stance, looked down at the putter and genuinely wondered why it appeared to be facing the wrong direction.     Fat Cat Energy

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, we learned that no good deed goes unpunished. Des was simply trying to be a hero and grab some documents from her mom's house while she was away. Innocent enough, right? Wrong. The man watching the property apparently thought he had caught a criminal mastermind in action and came in ready to throw hands. Des was immediately convinced her life was flashing before her eyes. Nothing says family favor like an unexpected fight-or-flight response. 😅 We also discuss the annual carnival in town and one of our favorite hobbies... people watching. The outfits. The rides. The questionable decisions. The campers packed into spaces that seem physically impossible. Yet, we did see a Mercedes G-Wagon parked outside their setup, leaving us wondering if we've chosen the wrong careers entirely and discuss what our jobs would be if we were Carni’s. 🎡🚐💸 Des also opens up about her full-blown mama bear tendencies when it comes to Sophia's new role as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. She keeps checking in, making sure no one is being mean to her, offering help, and generally hovering at a professional level. She realizes she may need to back off a little... but let's be honest, moms never fully retire from the job. ❤️ Then Cort introduces us to a video that absolutely sent her. A woman was complaining about having a puffy private area and someone encouraged her to embrace her "Fat Cat Energy." We have not recovered. The confidence. The branding. The absolute commitment to the bit.     Lord Jesus There’s a Fire

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, the Hot Flashes are HOT and one of them literally involved a fire 🔥😅 Cort’s Hot Flash is for the absolute betrayal of your hair falling out of the curling iron right before the curl is complete. Then somehow it happens AGAIN when you try to redo it. Always when you are late. Always when your stress level is already hanging by a thread. Des’s Hot Flash is for the disgusting humans out here pooping in the water while camping. She took her nieces and nephews down to the water to relax and immediately discovered a floating nightmare complete with a toilet seat and actual human poop right beside where kids were playing. Straight to jail. Camping license revoked forever. We also need answers. Are you sipping your protein drinks like a civilized person or absolutely inhaling them like you’re in a frat house chugging competition? Because apparently we cannot consume one normally. 💪🥤 Des also opens up about the terrifying fire in Mountain Home that forced her evacuation. The experience was emotional and honestly traumatic, and while she is incredibly grateful her home was spared, so many others were not as fortunate. It definitely puts things into perspective 💔 Meanwhile Cort has been on grandma duty watching Adrianna’s dogs and would like everyone to know those little creatures are farting with authority. We also talk about Des committing to cooking again starting June 1st and desperately needing easy dinner recipes because adulthood is relentless.     All or Nothing

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, the Hot Flashes are HOT and the emotional support porch geese are thriving 🔥🪿 Cort’s Hot Flash is all about the absolutely aggressive traffic situation in our little town at 3:15pm. Why is everyone driving like they are fleeing a natural disaster? Calm down Cheryl, we are literally headed to soccer practice. Des’s Hot Flash is… herself 😅 She officially packed her schedule way too full and is realizing she cannot keep saying yes to everything. So if you hear her agreeing to something, please step in and lovingly say no on her behalf. We also talk about Des’s trip to DC with the Military Affairs Committee and how meaningful the experience was. She made it to the White House, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial her very first day there and was deeply moved by all of it. One of those moments you know will stay with you forever 🇺🇸. Then we spiral into the porch goose obsession. Apparently all the girlies are emotionally attached to these geese and their tiny seasonal outfits because our messages were FULL. Some of you own them. Some of you need them. Some of you are now hunting one down. We cannot wait to share the outfits because honestly… this may be our personality now. 🪿✨ Cort also talks about the color analysis class she attended at Olive and Atlas, a super cute boutique on the Air Force Base. Maria from The EnhanceHer did the analysis and it was all so fun. Go follow both of them because they are amazing and we may or may not be planning an event together soon. 👀 We also dive back into The Women because apparently we became readers overnight. We somehow made it all the way to chapter 21 and whew… Frankie’s homecoming has us emotional. Her dad’s reaction hurt our feelings and Rye dying absolutely wrecked us. While out to dinner, there was a man sitting across from them with TWO phones. He was on TikTok Live on one and FaceTime on the other. Sir… are you hosting a telethon? Everyone around him was held hostage by his volume and terrible decisions. Cort’s Hot Flash is for the people who immediately CALL after you send them a text. Absolutely not. If she texted you instead of calling, there was a reason. Please text back like the rest of civilized society 😅 Des also had to publicly clear Betsy’s name after falsely accusing her in the last episode of stealing a jumpsuit. Turns out… it was not Betsy. Justice for Betsy. Cort tells us about her urgent care experience where her sample of pee was just casually sitting beside her in the waiting room like an emotional support beverage. Medicine is beautiful. Then Des admits she said some wildly questionable things to a client on the phone and is officially sick of herself. Somewhere deep inside lives the spirit of a 72-year-old inappropriate man and occasionally he escapes. We also talk about this Hantavirus situation because honestly… are we really doing mysterious viruses again? We are tired.     Get Over It Sis!

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, Des’s Hot Flash is aimed directly at grudge holders 🔥 Seriously… how are people staying mad for YEARS over something so silly? We might be too forgiving but at some point you have got to move on. Some people are out here carrying emotional baggage like it’s a competitive sport. Girl… you are giving entirely too many f’s. Then we spiral into panic over needing dresses for a Kentucky Derby party. Hats? Fascinators? Loud prints? Structured dresses? We are simple girlies and this feels dangerously close to costume territory 👒😅 If you have ideas, please help because confidence levels are low. Cort also calls Des out for having bougie dogs and honestly… the evidence is strong. Willie gets scared if the windows are open too long. Addie refuses to pee on wet grass like she pays the mortgage. The list of quirks keeps growing and suddenly Des realizes she may have accidentally raised entitled animal celebrities. We also dive into chapters 10, 11 and 12 of The Women and whew… things are getting emotional. Frankie losing Jamie, Ethel leaving, and her transfer to the 71st really show how isolated and intense that world was compared to life back home. You can actually feel Frankie changing and growing through the letters she writes to her parents.     From The Booty To The Cootie

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, the Hot Flashes are loud, the patience is low and TSA got a little too personal 😅✈️ Des kicks things off with airport rage. If you are walking slow, stopping randomly, or blocking entire walkways while staring at your phone, she would like you to respectfully… move. Situational awareness is free. Please use it. Cort’s Hot Flash is for the people who constantly complain about their spouse like it is a full time hobby. If you are that unhappy… why are you still there? We are confused. Des recaps her Florida trip and it delivered everything. Humidity that turned her hair into a full helmet. A last second outfit change that nearly took her out. A photo involving a helmet and a gun that will never see daylight. And of course the TSA experience that inspired this entire episode title. Let’s just say it went from the booty to the cootie real quick and no one was prepared 😳 She also met some incredible women with stories that sound like movies. Situations involving R Kelly and Epstein’s pilot that could have gone very differently. Both trusted their gut and got out. A reminder that your intuition is there for a reason. Cort introduces Des to “catching print” and no… it is not what you think. It is bold, slightly unhinged and somehow empowering. The girlies are going to have thoughts. We also talk about Cort having Ella Langley on repeat and her inability to listen to music without moving. Sitting still is not an option and honestly we respect it. As always there are side tangents, random thoughts and conversations that take unexpected turns. Airport chaos. Marriage truths. TSA trauma.     Let's Get Real

    Send us Fan Mail This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, we start with a very real Hot Flash. How can you feel completely fine one minute… and then catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirror, a photo or a video and suddenly feel like the largest, least attractive version of yourself to ever exist? Make it make sense 😅📸 Then things get real. Des shares that she didn’t have a Hot Flash this week because she is sitting in deep gratitude. After a mammogram in March, she got the call no one wants. A suspicious spot. She walks us through the waiting, the appointments, the unknown and everything that comes with it. The mental spiral. The fear. The what ifs. And ultimately… the relief of good news. It’s a reminder of what actually matters and how quickly perspective can shift. 💗 We also talk about how Josh lovingly roasts Cort for thinking more like a man than she’d like to admit. She knows she cannot be the only female out here with these thought patterns. Des brings up a photo that still makes her laugh every single time. Hard hats that did not fit. Shorts. And a very bold hand placement that deserves its own moment in history. She keeps it in her closet as a reminder that no outfit could ever be worse than that day. Honestly… grounding. Cort thinks it might be time to revisit Des’s bunker building era because the world is getting a little too wild for comfort. Prepared or paranoid? We will circle back. We also dive into chapters 7 through 9 of our Besties Book Club pick The Women. Things are getting intense and we are loving the bond between Frankie, Ethel and Barb. It really makes you think about what it would feel like to be thrown into something that heavy with no preparation.
