Rethmeier, DrPH - I am honored to be your host and presenter. This series of videos, based on my book 'Leading4Value,' collating over 50 years of leadership experience, as a faculty member of international leadership development seminars, research and publication of a variety of articles highlighting proven strategies, concepts, and exercises for leaders to apply in your organization/company that really work, as well as, twenty years of organizational consulting in industries from healthcare and financial services to the oil industry. These podcasts are designed and aim to help leaders develop an inspirational presence to achieve exceptional results, results that are both meaningful - providing personal satisfaction - and significant - putting numbers on the board! The content spans four models, each providing different perspectives and based on my vast store of experience. With a focus on creating a level of trust, I combine teachings from the United States Navy Medical Service Corps career and international institutions, like the Maastricht University's Department of International Health, the UK National Health Service and the Foreign Investors Council of Romania as well as a variety of teaching and consulting in America to offer insightful guidance for leaders. I present anecdotes and experiences from challenging yet rewarding encounters, such as consulting services for a company providing mechanical services for oil refineries. With an initial revenue increase from $80 million to $245 million at a 5% margin, I share insights on how I helped the company reinforce its competitive advantage by recommending selected modifications to its two major business lines, that when fully implemented, the company thrived even better than we had expected. You will also find practical tools and exercises connected to the four leadership models that are publish in my book to help implement the teachings into your organization.  I have used all of these tools, many I created myself, many times and they truly work!  To that end, since these are videos, you can see what the models and tools actually look like for your benefit to learn how to use them in your own journey! My own business journey highlights the importance of trust in leadership, the power of challenging and being challenged, the invaluable nature of continuous learning, serving as a mentor for others, and the necessity to get comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone! With quotes that inspire, like "Leadership is having the courage to act, to do what is right, not to wait and see, not to wait and hope, but the courage to get involved," this show is much more than a mere discourse on leadership. Join me to explore how leaders can influence their organization's journey to "See, Believe, and Achieve!" Learning and applying these techniques can yield extraordinary organizational performance and uncommon results. Enjoy the ride and always remember that leadership depends on trust, and every day is a learning opportunity. Welcome aboard!

Innovating Leadership for Better Community Health

L4V Episode 3 - PDF Handout of Episode Content: https://mcdn.podbean.com/mf/web/6jcpuegr54yezys3/L4V_C3_Episode_3bguwz.pdf Welcome back to Episode 3 of my leadership series “Leading4Value”. This episode ventures out of our common comfort zones and directly applies important leadership strategies to the healthcare sector. However, the principles and concepts tackled here can be transferrable to any industry. To that end, since these are videos, you can see what the models and tools actually look like for your benefit to learn how to use them in your own journey! We will explore the interesting concept of ‘competency models’ as leadership mindsets. An exciting thing that you will notice is that most competencies, such as visioning and team building, apply universally. The only difference is the specific behaviors under these competencies, tailored appropriately for each individual industry. In this episode, our case study centers around community health needs improvements that actually became more visible and important after the COVID pandemic. I will share with you my screen where we unravel the practical application of a C3 model to design, develop, and deliver a vision that positively improve a community's health status. By examining various situations including a unique application of artificial intelligence in Germany by one of Ken's colleagues and significant health initiatives to identify and treat patients far earlier when they have been diagnosed with cancer in Romania, we can strive to apply these lessons in our own communities. This involves transforming raw data into structured plans with realistic and impactful initiatives. Our focus in this episode extends from early detection of diseases such as cancer to ensuring access to better prenatal care, with real-life scenarios as illustrative examples. The aim is to identify the gaps and work towards improving the healthcare of our own communities. This episode serves as a guide for inspired leadership through the belief in capacity and fostering an ongoing learning environment. Substantial improvements in health services such as moving from inpatient to outpatient procedures for joint replacements can be realized with innovative leadership practices. This leadership can further uncover healthcare inequalities and help in addressing them. To conclude, episode three is about innovative leadership strategies for community health improvement. This series aims to help leaders deliver value on target, on time, every time without fail. Remember, leadership is about transforming visions into reality and helping others see, believe, and achieve. Stay tuned for more in Episode 4!
