    What do AI, a solo trip to Disneyland, a youth soccer game that went off the rails, and a teenager working toward her black belt have in common? They're all part of this episode of Yhea Foo Nah Foo. We get into a little bit of everything in this one, from the technology we're becoming dependent on to the things we learn when we step outside our comfort zones. We talk about using AI to improve old home videos, its potential environmental impact, and whether we're getting to the point where we can't imagine life without it. Then there's the Disneyland experience — including what it's like to do your own thing without having to follow anybody else's schedule. The soccer conversation gets heated as we discuss a game that resulted in red cards for the coach, team manager, and players, along with suspensions and fines.     The Kids Are Alright, with Kiki & Friends

    What happens when the next generation takes over the podcast? You get honest opinions, middle-school stories, some laughs, and a few conversations that might make the adults stop and think. Mini Foo joins me for a conversation about her dream trip to Japan, and we hear from Professor G about his experiences traveling through Tokyo, navigating its incredible train system, and discovering why Japan keeps calling him back. Professor G has visited Japan four times, and each trip has given him something new to appreciate. From hunting down records and Japanese denim to exploring the city on public transportation without relying on his phone, he approaches travel as both an adventure and a personal challenge. But the moment that stuck with me most was his trip with his father. Sitting together at a rooftop bar in Shinjuku, overlooking the Tokyo skyline, he asked his dad what he wanted to do during the trip. His father's answer was simple: it wasn't about the itinerary. He just wanted to spend time with his son. That's the kind of story that reminds you what travel can really mean.     Episode 167: Find Your Spark, Foo with Kawayne

    Sometimes the best conversations happen when you're not looking for one. I met Kawayne in the exit row of a flight back to Los Angeles. We both slept a few hours, woke up, started talking, and by the time we landed I knew I needed to have him on the podcast. Kawayne was born and raised in Jamaica and moved to the U.S. at 15, which meant figuring out a whole new world: new schools, new culture, new rules. Along the way, he found his spark through mentorship and Usher's New Look. That opened doors to new careers, taught him about credit, saving, and investing, and showed him the importance of giving back. Today Kawayne works in PR and publicity and has been around some pretty interesting people in entertainment. What stood out to me, though, wasn't the celebrity stuff. It was his attitude. He genuinely enjoys helping other people succeed. We talk about Jamaica and America, finding your purpose, mentorship, PR, entertainment, credit, investing, networking, and why there's absolutely no reason to gatekeep knowledge. Because if somebody helped you along the way, why wouldn't you help somebody else? And there's already talk of a Part 2, because we barely scratched the surface on marketing. We talk about being teenagers who were basically raised by wolves, the nights I ended up at his house when I had nowhere else to go, and how certain friends become part of your village before you’re even old enough to understand what a village is. We get into psychology, human behavior, 2001: A Space Odyssey, AI, evolution, and the idea that sometimes you have to let an old version of yourself die so something new can take its place. Then the conversation takes another turn. Travel. Getting out of autopilot. Why unfamiliar places can make you feel alive again. Parenting. Making memories with your kids. And that strange moment when you realize your children are growing up and the little family you built is slowly changing. Yeah… it goes there. 😂 But underneath all the Foo nonsense, there’s a real conversation happening about something we’re all dealing with: information overload. We live in a world where everything wants our attention. Our phones, the news, social media, emails, texts, algorithms, and the constant stream of information can make us feel like we have to know everything and respond to everything immediately. So what happens when we don't? We talk about teaching our kids how to deal with the things they can't control, finding healthy ways to unplug, why movies used to feel like actual events, and why sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is simply step away from the noise.
