October 18, 2026 - The Names of God #3: El Roi, The God Who Sees | Genesis 16:1–13 | Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

Have you ever wondered if God hears your prayers, sees your struggles, or cares about what you’re going through? In this message from The Names of God series, we discover El Roi, the God Who Sees, through the story of Hagar in Genesis 16. When circumstances tested Abram and Sarai’s faith, their decision to take matters into their own hands brought painful consequences. Yet in the midst of Hagar’s suffering, God saw her affliction, heard her cry, and responded with mercy. This passage reminds us that God is never blind to our circumstances or indifferent to our pain. He knows the deepest struggles of our hearts, hears our prayers, and acts according to His gracious and faithful character. As we learn to know God more deeply, we can trust Him even when His promises seem distant or His answers seem delayed. Key takeaways: Life’s circumstances will test our trust in God.Taking matters into our own hands can lead to painful consequences.God sees our suffering and hears our cries.Because God sees and cares, we can persevere in prayer and trust His mercy.Scripture References: Genesis 16:1–13; Genesis 12:10–20; Genesis 15:1–6; Exodus 3:7 Keywords: El Roi, The God Who Sees, Names of God Bible study, trusting God in difficult times, prayer and God’s faithfulness CTA: Subscribe for weekly sermons from Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI, and grow in your knowledge of God and His Word.

Sept. 13, 2026 - Until the King Returns | Luke 19:11-27, Acts 1:6-11 Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

The King is coming back—but what are we doing while we wait? In this Mission Sunday message, we are reminded that Jesus has entrusted His followers with important work to accomplish until He returns. Through the Parable of the Minas, Jesus teaches that His servants are called to work faithfully rather than simply stay busy with things that do not matter. After His resurrection, Jesus clearly defines that work: proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and call people from every nation to salvation through Him. And we are not expected to accomplish this mission in our own strength—the risen and ascended King has promised the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. As we wait for Christ’s return, the question is not whether we have work to do, but whether we are faithfully doing the work He has given us. This message challenges us to take our next step in making disciples and joining the mission of the King. Key takeaways: • Work faithfully until Christ returns. • Proclaim the Gospel to all nations. • Make disciples who follow and obey Jesus. • Depend on the Holy Spirit’s power. • Take your next step in the King’s work. Scripture: Luke 19:11-27; Luke 24:44-48; Acts 1:6-11; Matthew 28:18-20 Keywords:  Mission Sunday, making disciples, Gospel mission, Great Commission, Jesus Christ return CTA:  Subscribe for weekly sermons from Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI.
