    True Happiness

    "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be," Abraham Lincoln once said. That quote may strike a chord with many, but it invites a deeper question: Are you truly happy? Not the fleeting satisfaction that comes from possessions, achievements, or circumstances, but the lasting joy that transcends life’s trials. The Christian life holds the keys to this joy, and it is only through a relationship with God that we can experience true inner peace and contentment.     Joy to the World...

    The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the familiar chorus of Christians reminding the world that Jesus was not born on December 25. While the factual accuracy of that statement is important, what concerns me is how some Christians handle this time of year. Instead of seizing the opportunity to point people to Jesus, they seem to wield the occasion like a club, ensuring anyone not already in the pews feels guilty, unwelcome, or outright terrible about the whole idea of Jesus’ birth. If we’re supposed to be the light of the world, why are we so often the first to blow out the candle when others might actually notice it?     Looking Back

    Genesis 19:26 states, “But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” This verse contains a powerful warning. Jesus Himself emphasized its importance with the words, “Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke 17:32). Her tragic end stands as a testimony to the spiritual peril of disobedience, divided loyalty, and failing to leave sin behind. In this passage, we find lessons both for those awakening to the need for salvation and for those in danger of falling away.     We Got Everything We Wanted

    We Got Everything We Wanted Will We Preach or Stay Silent? The words of Jeremiah are as piercing today as they were when first spoken: “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof” (Jeremiah 5:31). The parallels between the state of Judah in Jeremiah’s day and modern America are striking. The leadership of our nation may not claim divine authority, but the spiritual condition of the people—and the response of Christians—raises the same question: What will we do in the end?     Paul’s Divine Authority

    In Galatians chapter one, Paul makes a bold and necessary defense of his apostleship. The Galatians were being misled by false teachers, and Paul needed to re-establish his authority, not for his own sake, but for the preservation of the true gospel. His claim to authority rested on a simple truth: his message came directly from Jesus Christ. It was not taught to him by any man. This divine origin was essential to Paul’s defense and forms the basis for why we, even today, can trust his message.     God Provides What We Need,

    When we approach God in prayer, we often have a specific request in mind. It might be for healing, provision, or guidance, but many times we approach Him with what we think is the solution. The challenge for Christians is learning to trust that God’s response, whether it aligns with our desires or not, is always for our good. The Bible teaches that God gives us what we need, which is not always what we want—and sometimes, it is something we do not want at all. This is a hard truth, but one that, when understood, deepens our faith and strengthens our relationship with God.     Deconstructing Christianity

    In recent years, the term “deconstruction” has gained popularity among those who grew up in the church or who once held to Christianity but now find themselves questioning or even abandoning their beliefs. For many, deconstruction represents a process of breaking down the beliefs they once held to reassess them. While critical thinking and examination of faith are important, there is a real danger in this modern trend of deconstructing Christianity. What starts as an effort to understand faith more deeply can easily lead to doubt, rejection of scripture, and an eventual departure from the truth.     Before You Sign

    When visiting a doctor’s office for the first time, patients are often asked to fill out paperwork. Most of the time, the forms are harmless — insurance information, medical history, and consent to treatment. However, during an intake for a new doctor, I was presented with a document that stood out to me. It wasn’t just a typical consent form. It was a document asking me to agree to follow the doctor’s treatment regimen completely, with no stipulations, exceptions, or clarifications. In essence, it was an open-ended vow of obedience to the doctor’s judgment.
