Introduction to the Debt Free Millionaire Mission and Philosophy - Episode #1

Zack Edwards

Debt Free Millionaire is more than a personal finance course—it is a mission to change the way Americans think about money, debt, work, and wealth from a young age. Too many people enter adulthood without understanding how to create a budget, manage credit, avoid destructive debt, invest for the future, or turn their income into lasting wealth. Debt Free Millionaire was created to help change that. Our goal is to give students, families, educators, and adults practical financial knowledge they can use throughout their lives. We believe financial education should begin long before someone receives their first credit card, takes out a car loan, signs a mortgage, or starts saving for retirement. Young people should understand the value of work, the difference between needs and wants, how interest works, why debt can become dangerous, how investing builds wealth, and how the financial decisions they make today can affect them decades into the future. The mission of Debt Free Millionaire is simple: teach Americans how to live debt free—or how to become debt free—and then show them how to build real, lasting wealth. Becoming a millionaire is not presented as a promise of overnight riches or a destination reached through shortcuts. It is about developing the habits, knowledge, patience, discipline, and long-term thinking that can help a person build financial independence over a lifetime. Students learn about budgeting, saving, banking, credit, loans, taxes, careers, insurance, investing, retirement, real estate, major purchases, financial pitfalls, and the power of compound growth. But our mission goes beyond accumulating money. We want people to understand what financial freedom can allow them to do. When individuals are no longer controlled by overwhelming debt and are able to build financial security, they have greater freedom to pursue their dreams, care for their families, start businesses, support causes they believe in, help neighbors in need, contribute to charities, fund scholarships, strengthen their communities, and pursue their greatest philanthropic desires. We want the next generation to ask more than, “How much money can I make?” We want them to ask, “What can I build with it? Who can I help with it? What problems can I solve with it? And what kind of legacy can I leave behind?” That is the heart of Debt Free Millionaire: helping people understand money so that money becomes a tool rather than a burden. Our vision is a generation of financially educated Americans who know how to earn wisely, spend intentionally, avoid unnecessary debt, invest patiently, build wealth responsibly, and ultimately use their financial success to create opportunities for themselves and others. Get out of debt. Stay out of debt. Build wealth. Achieve financial freedom. Then use that freedom to accomplish something greater than yourself. That is the Debt Free Millionaire mission.
