I’m watching every one of his movies and discussing them — with help from a bunch of funny, interesting, knowledgeable, and occasionally strange people. In this episode, we turn to Legend (1985). Tom Cruise is working with another visionary director and starring alongside Mia Sara and Tim Curry (and, of course, Tom Cruise himself). To help me break down and discuss Legend, I convinced an award-winning podcaster to join the fun: Genevieve Hassan from the amazing Celebrity Catch Up: Life After That Thing I Did.     The quest for the Tom Cruise cake rides again! Episode 6—can you believe it? Because I can’t. Thanks to everyone who’s listened to the previous episodes. And if this is your first time here, may I suggest catching up on the last five? They’ll answer most of the questions you probably have. But here’s the quick pitch: I’ve made it my mission in life to get a cake from Tom Cruise. How? By making the greatest Tom Cruise podcast ever. I’m going to watch every one of his movies and discuss them—with help from a bunch of funny, interesting, knowledgeable, and sometimes strange people. This episode, we turn to 1983’s All The Right Moves. Tom Cruise has top billing again, starring alongside Lea Thompson, Craig T. Nelson, and Chris Penn (and, of course, Tom Cruise himself). To help me break down and discuss All The Right Moves, I brought in Kobi Omenaka from the Flixwatcher Podcast. Turns out, Kobi is one of the few people who’s actually seen this film (well, about 30 years ago), which is really helpful when trying to talk about it. Also, it’s always great to have Kobi on a podcast. If Kobi wants to come on your small podcast—you get Kobi on your small podcast. If you’re still reading this bio, thank you.     The quest for the Tom Cruise cake hits another gear! Can you believe it we have made it to episode 5! (listen to eps 1-4 for the; who, what, when and why?) I have made it my aim in life to get a cake from Tom Cruise and the way I'm doing that is by making the greatest Tom Cruise podcast ever. I am going to watch every one of his movies and then discuss them with help from a bunch of funny/interesting/knowledgeable/strange people. This episode we move onto 1983's 'Risky Business. This movie Tom Cruise has top billing. It starred Rebecca De Mornay, Joe Pantoliano, Bronson Pinchot and Curtis Armstrong. To help me breakdown and discuss Risky Business I had to call in yet another favour. I reached out to Russell Bailey from the supreme Not Just For Kids Podcast. I reached out to Russ because this film feels like it should have been a film you watch when you are younger? I have made it my aim in life to get a cake from Tom Cruise and the way I'm doing that is by making the greatest Tom Cruise podcast. I am going to watch everyone of his movies and then discuss them with help from a bunch of funny/interesting/knowledgeable/strange people.   This episode we move onto 1983's 'The Outsiders'. This movie Tom is part of an incredible ensemble of amazing actors. It starred Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Diane Lane, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchino and our boy Tom Cruise!   To help me breakdown and discuss The Outsiders I had to call in another favour.     The quest for the Tom Cruise cakes continues! So, as discussed in episode 1 & 2 (if you haven't listened please go back it explains many questions like; who, what, when and why?) I have made it my aim in life to get a cake from Tom Cruise and the way I'm doing that is by making the greatest Tom Cruise podcast. I am going to watch every one of his movies and then discuss them with help from a bunch of funny/interesting/knowledgeable/strange people.   This episode we move onto 1982's 'Losin' It'. This is Tom's first leading role and it turns out this is pretty much the one movie he never talks about. No spoilers but I think I understand why. This is one of Tom Cruise films that is very hard to find. In the UK it’s not on any VOD platform to watch, I had to buy a DVD off eBay, which didn't work and then had to rip it to watch it.   To help me breakdown and discuss Losin' it I had to call in a favour. I reached out to Liam Dempsey from the brilliant Spocklight Podcast. I thought of Liam because I think he has almost watched every movie ever made. This is Tom's first major role, he has actual screen time in this one. I drag on someone called James onto this episode. He is one of my best friends and for some reason I associate 'Taps' with him.
