S2. E8. Megan Batchelor - Creating Freedom Through Fitness: Building A Body That Lets You Live A Better Life

Today, I’m joined by Megan Batchelor whose approach to fitness goes far beyond workouts, weight loss or what we see in the mirror. Megan Batchelor is the founder of Focused Personal Training (Southampton U.K.) and the host of the Freedom Through Fitness podcast. She is a talented, ambitious and deeply driven personal trainer who believes that fitness should not restrict your life, it should give you more freedom to live it. More freedom to move confidently. More freedom to say yes to opportunities. More freedom to enjoy time with the people you love. And more freedom to keep doing the things that matter to you as you get older. Through Focused Personal Training, Megan and her team are creating a supportive fitness community where everyday people can become stronger, more resilient and more confident, without feeling intimidated, judged or forced into a one-size-fits-all programme. Her own podcast, Freedom Through Fitness, brings that philosophy to life through honest conversations with clients, athletes, health professionals and local inspirational figures and health experts. It explores how movement can help people recover from setbacks, manage health challenges, rebuild confidence and take back control of their lives. What I particularly admire about Megan is that she doesn’t present fitness as punishment for what you ate, or as something reserved for naturally athletic people. She sees fitness as an investment in your future. Because being fit isn’t only about lifting heavier weights or running faster. It might mean being able to get down on the floor and play with your grandchildren. It might mean walking upstairs without becoming breathless. It could mean recovering from illness, reducing pain, protecting your independence, or simply waking up and feeling more capable in your own body. Megan is building a powerful brand, but she is also building something even more important: a community that helps people recognise what their bodies can still do. So today, we’re going to discover what drives her, how she has grown "Focused Personal Training", what she has learnt from the people she coaches and why she believes movement, strength and resilience can create genuine freedom in every area of our lives.
