"I'm A Statistical Anomaly" | Paul Ludacka's Full Story | Life Upside Down

Paul had already endured abandonment, abuse, instability, and more pain than most people experience in a lifetime. By 14, he was paying rent and providing for himself. He eventually left home carrying everything he owned in a cardboard box. Statistically, Paul says he shouldn’t be here. He could have easily ended up imprisoned, addicted, or dead—but God had another plan. Years later, after walking into a house filled with drugs, alcohol, pornography, and people he no longer wanted influencing his life, Paul reached his breaking point. He threw everyone out and decided he would attack the next person who came to the door. Then someone knocked. Standing outside was Pastor Daryl Scott—the man who had previously told Paul that Jesus loved him and had a purpose for his life. That night, in the middle of all the darkness and brokenness surrounding him, Paul fell to his knees and gave his life to Christ. In this powerful conversation, Paul shares: • Growing up without his biological father • Living with an abusive alcoholic stepfather • Leaving home at only 14 years old • The woman who changed the direction of his life • Losing the future he thought he had built • Surviving an accident that left him with a broken back • The pastor who continued pursuing him • The night he finally surrendered his life to Jesus • Breaking generational cycles through faith and intentional fatherhood • Why success, money, and achievement can never fill the God-shaped void inside us • How trials can produce perseverance, character, and hope Paul’s life is living proof that God can redeem even the most painful parts of our stories. What others intended for evil, God can use for good. If you feel broken, forgotten, or too far gone, we hope this conversation reminds you that Jesus is willing to meet you exactly where you are. You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Him. “If Christ can save me, He can save anybody.” — Paul 🎙️ Life Upside Down is a faith-based podcast hosted by Ryan and Karina Martinez, sharing real stories of redemption, marriage, and Christ-centered living. 💍✝️ Subscribe for new episodes every week. 🔗 Website: https://lifeusd.com 🔗 TikTok: @livelifeupsidedown 🔗 Instagram: @lifeusd.podcast 🔗Support Life Upside Down With a Direct Download of Ryan's Music Here: https://lifeusd.com/store/albums 🔗Stream Ryan's Music Here: https://lifeusd.com/ryanmartinezmusic 🔗Visit The Life Upside Down Merch Store Here: https://lifeusd.com/store 🔗Give A Tax Deductible Donation Here: https://lifeusd.com/donate 🔗For podcast appearances, speaking engagements, or collaboration inquiries, please email us at marketing@lifeusd.com

God on Trial | Daniel Six Ten’s War on Forgiveness | Life Upside Down

Church hurt. False prophets. The problem of evil. What justice really looks like. And what it actually means to call yourself a Christian. This episode covers it all. In this episode of the Life Upside Down Podcast, Ryan and Karina Martinez sit down with Daniel, known online as @danielsixten, a Christian influencer who works as a lawyer by day and teaches apologetics, highlights religious freedom, and raises awareness about Christian persecution around the world. This conversation goes deep. Daniel shares his personal journey of learning what it truly means to submit to God and live a life of forgiveness. Not the kind of forgiveness that sounds good in a sermon but the kind that costs you something. The kind that transforms your heart from the inside out. Because that's what real faith does. It doesn't just change your Sunday morning. It changes who you are when nobody's watching. Ryan, Karina, and Daniel tackle some of the hardest questions believers and non-believers wrestle with: What do you do when the church is the thing that hurt you? How do you identify false prophets and protect yourself from bad teaching? If God is good, why does He allow so much evil in the world? What does biblical justice actually look like versus what the world calls justice? What does 1 Kings 13 teach us about obedience, deception, and staying true to God's word? Daniel brings a unique perspective to these conversations because he lives in two worlds. In the courtroom, he deals with justice as the law defines it. In his faith, he understands justice as God defines it. That intersection creates some of the most thought-provoking moments in this episode. This isn't a surface-level conversation. This is the kind of episode you listen to twice. Once to hear it and once to sit with it. If you've ever been hurt by a church, questioned whether your faith is real, wondered how God could allow suffering, or needed to understand what true forgiveness looks like, this episode was made for you. "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you." James 4:7-8 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." The Move That Nearly Broke Them | Ryan and Karina's Story Ep. 5 | Life Upside Down

They left everything familiar behind for a new opportunity. A new city. A new future. A fresh start. Karina had landed a career opportunity that seemed like the next step for their family. She was the breadwinner, and together Ryan and Karina packed up their lives and moved away from home believing this was where they were supposed to be. But only three months later, everything started falling apart. The pressure of the job began taking a serious toll on Karina’s mental health, eventually leading her to quit. Suddenly the stability they had built their future around disappeared overnight. Ryan stepped into a brand new field as an electrician, determined to carry the weight for their growing family, but when that job didn’t work out either, he was left battling shame, disappointment, and the feeling that he had failed the people he loved most. In this episode, Ryan and Karina open up about the fear, uncertainty, and emotional weight of feeling stuck in a tiny apartment while trying to raise a growing family far away from home. They talk honestly about anxiety, identity, pressure, marriage, and the difficult seasons where life doesn’t look anything like you imagined. This is a conversation about disappointment, perseverance, and learning to trust God when every plan seems to unravel. 🎙️ Life Upside Down is a faith-based podcast hosted by Ryan and Karina Martinez, sharing real stories of redemption, marriage, and Christ-centered living. 💍✝️ Subscribe for new episodes every week. 🔗 Website: https://lifeusd.com 🔗 TikTok: @livelifeupsidedown 🔗 Instagram: @lifeusd.podcast 🔗Support Life Upside Down With a Direct Download of Ryan's Music Here: https://lifeusd.com/store/albums 🔗Stream Ryan's Music Here: https://lifeusd.com/ryanmartinezmusic 🔗Visit The Life Upside Down Merch Store Here: https://lifeusd.com/store 🔗Give A Tax Deductible Donation Here: https://lifeusd.com/donate 🔗For podcast appearances, speaking engagements, or collaboration inquiries, please email us at marketing@lifeusd.com #MarriagePodcast #ChristianPodcast #FaithJourney #LifeUpsideDown #MarriageStruggles #MentalHealthJourney #YoungFamily #TrustingGod #FaithInHardTimes #ChristianMarriage #RealLifeStories #LifeChallenges #HopeInTheStruggle #RelationshipPodcast #MovingAway #StartingOver #AnxietyRecovery #FamilyLife #PodcastEpisode #MarriageAndFaith

They Didn't Expect Marriage To Be This Hard | Ryan and Karina's Story Ep. 4 | Life Upside Down

Their marriage almost didn’t make it. In the early years of Ryan and Karina’s relationship, things were a lot harder than people realized. The fighting, the friction, the uncertainty… at times it became so overwhelming that Karina wanted to leave. What looked like a strong marriage from the outside was actually two young people trying to figure out how to love each other through pain, pressure, immaturity, and completely different perspectives. But Ryan refused to let their marriage fall apart. Instead of running from the tension, he pursued Karina relentlessly and fought for the idea that no matter how hard things got, they would work through them together. And over time, those difficult years didn’t destroy their marriage… they actually helped shape it. In this episode of Life Upside Down, Ryan and Karina open up about the real struggles of their early marriage — learning how to communicate, raising kids while still trying to grow up themselves, searching for direction and career stability, and making countercultural decisions to protect their family.  This conversation is honest, raw, and deeply relatable for anyone who has ever struggled in marriage, questioned their future, or felt overwhelmed trying to build a family and a life at the same time. And somehow, through all of it, the struggles that once pushed them apart became the very thing that brought them closer than ever. #MarriagePodcast, #ChristianMarriage, #MarriageStruggles, #YoungMarriage, #RealRelationships, #FaithAndMarriage, #MarriageTestimony, #FamilyLife, #ParentingJourney, #ChristianPodcast, #RelationshipGoals, #MarriageHealing, #LifeUpsideDown, #MarriageAdvice, #FaithJourney, #LoveAndFaith, #MarriageStory, #FamilyFirst, #WorkingParents, #counterculture  🎙️ Life Upside Down is a faith-based podcast hosted by Ryan and Karina Martinez, sharing real stories of redemption, marriage, and Christ-centered living.

From Crime to Calling: Dan Graves' Full Story | Life Upside Down

He was just a kid chasing a thrill. It started small. It always does. Skateboarding. Friends. A little rebellion that didn’t seem like a big deal at the time. But by 17, Dan Graves found himself going down a path that was anything but harmless. What began as experimenting with drugs slowly pulled him into something darker… until he was running with real criminals. By the end of his senior year, Dan was the getaway driver in a gas station robbery. And it cost him. He got caught.  He went to jail.  Six months behind bars with nothing but time… and the quiet voice of God beginning to plant seeds. In this episode of the Life Upside Down Podcast, Ryan and Karina Martinez sit down with Dan Graves to hear the full story—one he’s never shared quite like this before. Jail didn’t instantly change everything. The seeds were there, but surrender hadn’t happened yet. It wasn’t until after he got out—watching people around him genuinely follow Jesus—that something began to shift. The life he was chasing started to feel empty. And then came the moment. A real, tangible encounter with God that changed everything. Dan didn’t clean himself up first.  He surrendered first. Now his life looks completely different. He owns a successful carpet cleaning business. He has a beautiful family. And he’s built something powerful out of his past—literally. A skate barn on his property, running a skate ministry called The NAAR.  A place for the next generation—walking the same roads he once did—to come, find real community, and encounter God for themselves.  This episode covers Dan’s early years, the slow drift into drugs and crime, the robbery, jail, the seeds planted behind bars, and the moment everything flipped when he encountered Jesus for real. If you’ve ever wondered how far is too far… this story answers that question. No one is too far gone. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 Dan’s story didn’t just change his life—it shaped the way he works and leads today.
