    155 - A Single Mom's Father's Day Message

Single mama, have you ever had someone wish you a happy Father's Day? It happens to most of us at some point or another. I understand the sentiment but cringe too. Fathers fulfill a unique and important role. It's a role even the best mother cannot fill. In today's episode, we'll look at the importance of fathers, why father wounds hurt so deeply, and what we can do about the gap in fathering. Since Father's Day is this Sunday, let's make time to consider and appreciate what defines a real man and a good father. Let's consider the sadness of how far many modern men have fallen from their true vocations, and let's be grateful for the faith-filled, courageous, and loving fathers who are fighting on the right side of this final battle between Jesus and Satan. Saint Joseph, earthly father of Jesus, pray for our men. God Bless... Kerri In This Episode: Free Weekly Newsletter - Want to know more? 154 - You Can't Build a Relationship on Negativity

Do negative thoughts or words dominate your conversation? Whether you are struggling in a relationship with a parent, spouse, or child or are discussing issues in the Church or America itself, words matter. If you do not building on a foundation of good, the chances of healing wounds and building peace are slim. No one wants to hear the bad stuff all the time. This is even more true when the bad stuff is about them! There must be a foundation of recognized and appreciated good to stand on before problems can be safely addressed. Change your language so your grievance, even legitimate grievance, never trumps your gratitude.  God Bless... Kerri   In This Episode: Free Weekly Newsletter - Want to know more? 153 - Should You Leave Your Marriage? Lessons from Michael Jackson's Mom

Should you leave a difficult Marriage? When is your husband's behavior abusive and leave-worthy and when do you stay and hope things get better? Michael Jackson's mom, Kathryn, was married to what appears to be a mean, selfish, unfaithful man, and yet she did not divorce him. She used her suffering for good, but should she have stayed or was her husband's behavior bad enough to qualify as abusive? If so, did she have a moral obligation to leave? Can kids who stay in very difficult family situations learn good from them or is the only option divorce and what does the Catholic Church say about abuse in marriage? This is a difficult and sensitive topic. If you are in a dangerous abusive situation, there is help and hope. Please reach out to one of the resources below or contact your local parish. If no one helps, go to the next resource or parish. Keep trying. You can always email me too. Depending on various factors, I will do what I can to connect you with people who can help. Either way, know I will be praying for you. Most of all, you know are worth more. You are seen. You are heard. You are Loved.  God Bless... 151 - Feeling Neglected? The Holy Spirit Does Too!

We live in an era of loneliness, but even when we are surrounded by others we can feel neglected and overlooked. Mother's Day should have been a joyous occasion, but many women spent the day feeling forgotten or wondering if anyone notices them or remembers the work they did. They wonder if anyone cares about them or appreciates their sacrifice. It is an awful feeling. And it is one Our Lord knows well. He is right there with you in this particular suffering. And the Advocate has special power to turn the suffering of neglect into Joy when you call on Him and patiently wait for His timing! Sign up for this week's newsletter to further explore overcoming feelings of neglect and the Holy Spirit. Don't forget - there's still time for subscribers to download "Who Am I Now?" from the link in this week's newsletter. I designed this free coaching booklet to give you questions similar to those I ask women who want to explore their beauty and purpose after betrayal. You can always reach out to Kerri at Kerri@SingleMomSmiling.com with show ideas, interview possibilities, and questions too.  I hope you enjoy today's show! :)  God Bless... 150 - A Mother's Day Gift to Self - Rediscover Who You Are

Motherhood is beautiful—but it can also be overwhelming, exhausting, and all-consuming. Somewhere between raising children, managing a home, navigating relationships, and carrying invisible emotional burdens… many women lose themselves. Or worse—they begin to believe their identity must come from someone else. A husband. A relationship. Approval. Validation. But what if your identity was never meant to be given by another person? In this reflective and faith-filled Mother’s Day episode, we walk through a powerful question: What is a woman? Because once you define what a woman is… and you know that you are a woman… everything changes. Using the wisdom of Proverbs 31 and the truth that you are made in the image and likeness of God, we apply a simple but profound principle—the transitive property: If God defines a woman And you are a woman Then those qualities are already yours This episode will help you: Reclaim your identity after losing yourself in motherhood or hardship Break free from needing others to define your worth Understand your God-given dignity as a woman Begin redefining yourself through truth, not circumstance Step into confidence, clarity, and purpose Whether you are a single mom, married mom, divorced, widowed, or still waiting—you are not undefined. You are already known. You are already chosen. You are already created with purpose. 149 - Are We Still One American Family?

Is America still united or have we become a divided family? In this episode, we examine the growing division in our nation through the lens of the Catholic faith, family, and spiritual warfare. Inspired by the words of Pope Saint John Paul II and Ronald Reagan, we reflect on what it means to be family and the “invisible tie” that once held Americans together. We also ask whether it can survive today’s cultural, political, and spiritual battles. This episode shows how Catholics are called to respond with truth, courage, and discipline and what it means to become a Warrior Saint in today’s world. Rooted in Scripture and Catholic teaching, including the words of Paul the Apostle, this episode challenges you to reject fear, resist division, and rise in faith. Turning the other cheek is not a call to passivity. It is a call to stand, fight, and love rightly for our American family. 148 - Loneliness After a Broken Relationship

It's no longer a question of if you experience loneliness after a broken relationship. It's a matter of how you handle it. Loneliness has reached epidemic proportions and is something everyone who has been abandoned goes through at some point. Loneliness is experienced by those who have gone through: marital abandonment by a spouse, estrangement from children who have walked away, the loss of parents, important friendships that have faded away. The demons want to cause division. Breaking relationships and causing you to isolate is their way of getting back at God. In today's episode, life coach and single mom Kerri Bishop helps you understand loneliness and what you can do about it.
