Freedom to Be More Than What You Produce

Who are you when you remove the titles, responsibilities, accomplishments, and everything you produce? In this episode of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast, I’m joined by Jasmyne Cole, a wife, mother of four, homeschooling mom, new author, and budding entrepreneur, for a conversation about something so many high-performing women quietly struggle with: Learning to separate who we are from everything we do. Jasmyne shares how she has learned to appreciate the woman underneath all of the roles and responsibilities. When everything attached to her is stripped away, she still has to know who Jasmyne is at her core: caring, grateful, growing, and worthy outside of what she accomplishes.  And that is where this conversation gets real. So many of us have turned productivity into identity. We tell ourselves: I have to do this.  I have to carry that.  I have to take care of everyone.  I have to keep everything moving. But what happens when all of that “have to” becomes heavy? Jasmyne reminds us to shift from “I have to” to “I get to.” Because when our lives become completely duty-bound, the joy can disappear and the weight can begin to change how we show up for ourselves and the people we love.  In this episode, we talk about:  Untangling your identity from productivity and performance  Remembering who you are beyond motherhood, marriage, business, and responsibilities  Recognizing when carrying everything has become too heavy  Asking yourself, “Who told me I had to carry this?”  Learning to name what you are feeling instead of excusing it  Creating space to breathe, journal, pray, and reset  Allowing yourself to apologize and begin again  The importance of self-awareness  Receiving correction and encouragement from people who genuinely love you  Why having a trusted village matters  Navigating the tension between confidence and fear  Giving yourself permission to be vulnerable while you are still becoming One of my favorite moments in this conversation came when Jasmyne said: If I don’t name it, I can excuse it. That one will sit with you. Because sometimes healing and alignment begin with simply telling the truth about what is happening inside of us.  Jasmyne also reminds us that becoming more self-aware does not mean becoming perfect. Sometimes it means stepping outside and breathing. Sometimes it means journaling. Sometimes it means apologizing to your children. Sometimes it means being honest with your spouse. Sometimes it means admitting to yourself that the way you are showing up is not who you want to be. And then choosing differently. This conversation also highlights the power of having people around you who can encourage you and lovingly correct you. Jasmyne shares how her husband, family, friends, and faith community have helped her navigate moments where confidence and fear exist at the same time.  Sis, you are more than what you produce. You are more than the work. More than the business. More than the children. More than the responsibilities. More than the title. Your worth is not determined by how much you can carry. 🎧 Listen to Episode 9 and share this conversation with another woman who needs the reminder that she is allowed to exist beyond everything she does for everyone else. #GirlOrganizeThatLife #GirlOrganizeThatLifePodcast #MoreThanWhatYouProduce #JasmyneCole #HighPerformingWomen #HighAchievingWomen #WomenInLeadership #WomenWhoLead #WomenEmpowerment #IdentityBeyondPerformance #SelfAwareness #PurposeDrivenWomen #FaithAndPurpose #UnboundUnapologeticWhole Support the show Stay tune to the Girl Organize That Life Podcast every week! Freedom to Be Whole in Public and in Private

What happens when the woman everyone sees as strong, capable, polished, and successful is privately running on empty? In this episode of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast, I’m talking about the gap that can exist between who we are in public and what we are actually experiencing behind closed doors. As high-performing women, we know how to show up. We lead the meeting. We encourage the team. We care for our families. We support our spouses. We coach, serve, pray, lead, and handle the crisis. But behind the excellence, there can still be exhaustion. Behind the smile, there can still be sadness. And behind the strength can be a woman quietly wondering, “Who is coming to help me?”  That is why this conversation matters. There is the public version everyone sees, and then there is the private version very few people know. The wider the gap becomes between those two lives, the more exhausting it becomes to maintain the image.  In this episode, we talk about:  The difference between looking whole and actually being whole  Public excellence and private exhaustion  Why being strong does not mean you do not need support  The emotional weight of hiding what you are going through  Giving yourself permission to rest, receive help, and be human  Why survival strategies cannot become your permanent identity  Creating safe spaces where you do not have to perform  The difference between privacy and secrecy  Building a public life your private life can actually sustain  Why your peace, health, relationships, joy, and emotional well-being matter too One of the biggest reminders in this episode is that wholeness is not perfection. Wholeness means the woman you present to the world and the woman you meet when the doors close are not strangers to one another.  You can be gifted and still need rest.  You can be powerful and still need support.  You can be a strategist and still need help sorting through your own thoughts.  You can lead others and still have areas of your own life that need care.  And being whole does not mean telling everyone everything. Some things should remain sacred. What matters is having safe people and safe spaces where you do not have to hide behind the strong version of yourself.  Sis, you are included in the life you are building. Your health matters.  Your peace matters.  Your relationships matter.  Your joy matters.  And the condition of your soul matters.  This is your invitation to stop building a public life that your private self cannot sustain and give yourself permission to become whole on both sides of the door. Listen now, and share this episode with another high-performing woman who may need permission to put the weight down. #GirlOrganizeThatLife #UnboundUnapologeticWhole #HighPerformingWomen #HighAchievingWomen #WomenInLeadership #Wholeness #WomenWhoLead #AuthenticLeadership #SelfCare #WomenSupportingWomen #PurposeDrivenWomen #FaithAndPurpose #WomenEmpowerment Support the show Stay tune to the Girl Organize That Life Podcast every week! Freedom to Be Her Now: Stop Postponing the Woman You’re Becoming

How long have you been saying, “One day I’m going to become her”? In this episode of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast, Leslie Latimore Lorfils challenges high-performing women to stop postponing the woman they already know they are called to become. You do not have to wait until the business makes more money. You do not have to wait until you lose the weight, finish the degree, receive the title, or finally feel completely ready. The invitation is to begin choosing her now.  Leslie explores the difference between dreaming about your future self and making the aligned decisions that actually create her. She asks a powerful question: Who is “her” for you? Is she confident? Peaceful? Does she honor her boundaries? Trust herself? Walk into rooms without shrinking? Stop apologizing for who she is?  This conversation is also a reminder that “one day” can easily become a hiding place. Vision eventually has to become action. Prayer has to become participation. Confidence is often built after you move, not before.   In this episode, we talk about:  Why waiting until you feel ready can keep you stuck  Becoming the woman you envision through small, aligned decisions  Releasing old habits, relationships, and patterns that no longer match who you are becoming  Choosing alignment over approval  Honoring your boundaries and keeping promises to yourself  Taking action even when the next step feels uncomfortable  Releasing shame around your past and recognizing how far you have already come  Why transformation does not always have to be loud to be real Leslie reminds us that the woman you desire to become is not somewhere far in the future waiting to rescue you. She is being formed through the decisions you make right now.  Your next step does not have to be huge. Send the email. Make the appointment. Set the boundary. Write the first page. Submit the application. Ask for help. Take one aligned step.  You are not waiting for permission anymore. You are unbound, unapologetic, and whole.  If this episode speaks to you, share it with another woman who keeps saying “one day” and remind her that her life, her calling, and her next decision are happening right now.  #GirlOrganizeThatLife #FreedomToBeHer #BeHerNow #HighAchievingWomen #HighPerformingWomen #WomenInLeadership #WomenWhoLead #PersonalGrowth #MindsetShift #WomenEmpowerment #PurposeDrivenWomen #FaithAndPurpose #Boundaries #SelfTrust #AlignedLiving #UnapologeticWomen Support the show Stay tune to the Girl Organize That Life Podcast every week! Freedom to Be Desired, Powerful, and Holy

Freedom to Be Desired, Powerful, and Holy Season 7 of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast continues with Leslie flying solo this week, no guest, just a direct, unfiltered conversation about a lie many women of faith have carried for a long time: that you have to choose between being desired, being powerful, and being holy. Leslie breaks down why all three can be true in you at once. She walks through what healthy desire actually looks like versus being mishandled, why real power often looks quiet (self-control, boundaries, asking for help, choosing peace) rather than loud, and why holiness was never meant to erase your humanity or require you to perform perfection. You will hear about: The difference between being noticed and being honored: attention is not the same as intentionWhy your desire to be wanted can never become your willingness to be mishandledWhat real power actually looks like, and why it's not about controlling a roomWhy holiness is surrender, not a costume you wear in publicThree reflection questions to help you stop dividing yourself into acceptable piecesYou are allowed to be desired, powerful, and holy, all at once. Freedom to Be the Woman Before the Roles

Freedom to Be the Woman Before the Roles Season 7 of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast pauses for a moment this week, and it's just Leslie, one on one with you. No guest this episode. Instead, Leslie asks the question most of us go years without answering: who am I before all the roles I play? She walks through what happens when we become so familiar with our responsibilities that we grow strangely unfamiliar with ourselves, why rest is a requirement and not a reward, and why God has always delighted in who you are, not just what you produce. You will hear about: The difference between your assignments and your identityWhy roles are seasonal, and what happens when we build our whole sense of self on something that was never meant to be permanentThe question that can shift everything: who would I be if nobody needed anything from me todayThree reflection questions to sit with this week, away from your phone, your to-do list, and everyone else's needsWhy you don't have to earn your humanity, your rest, or your joyBe a woman before you are every title you carry. Freedom to Be Unedited

Season 7 of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast keeps building toward unbound, unapologetic, and whole, and this episode tackles the mask we all put on before we even leave the house. Leslie welcomes back Cori Foster, CEO and Founder of I Rock Marketing Business Solutions, for a raw conversation about code-switching, curated personas, and what it costs to constantly prove you're competent, credible, and worthy of the room. Cori also opens up about a recent, deeply personal moment... showing up in public with her walking cane for the first time as her vision changed, and what happened when she let herself be seen instead of hiding it. You will hear about: Why we unconsciously put on a mask just to survive certain spacesSmall, doable ways to start dropping the performance (starting with something as simple as your phone voice)How code-switching can quietly hinder the greatness you're trying to buildThe lies we tell ourselves about what people will think if we show up as we really areWhy surrounding yourself with the right community makes unapologetic living possibleSomebody is waiting for you to be brave enough to just be yourself. Freedom to Be a Woman Before the Role

Season 7 of the Girl Organize That Life Podcast continues with a conversation about becoming unbound, unapologetic, and whole, and this episode gets right to the heart of it: who are you underneath all the titles? Leslie sits down with Tenita Abraham, CEO and Founder of Building Legacies, financial education expert, and a woman who spent a decade as a caregiver for her father while building her career. Tenita opens up about switching identities in the same day, caregiver in the morning, financial advisor by 9am, caregiver again by evening and what it cost her to keep doing that without ever pausing to check on herself. You will hear about: Why caregiving comes with a financial cost most people never plan for (the average caregiver loses upwards of $300,000 in retirement savings)The moment Tenita realized she'd been wearing her caregiver role like a badge of honor instead of a warning signWhy "force the time" for yourself beats waiting for a health crisis to force it for youPlanning ahead for aging parents before the hard conversations become unavoidableKeeping your cup full so you're giving from your overflow, not from emptyDon't forget the woman before the role. In this episode, Leslie sits down with Melanie White, CEO and Founder of Sisyphus HR, to talk about what it costs to perform your way through life — and what changes when you stop. Melanie shares how she went from faking it in corporate HR to owning her seat in the room, why she built her business around learning to delegate what isn't hers to carry, and how one hospital stay every December for years finally forced her to change.
