    7. IAV-Podcasts_2021: Taking Ownership -- A Bit of Food for Thought on Capitalism

Description: Capitalism embraces ownership, as does ownership embrace responsibility. The idea is to allow business to profit from the preservation of nature and growing their businesses while improving the health of the planet and its environment. There is a reference to Prof. Jonathan Haidt and his book, “Three Stories about Capitalism: The moral psychology of economic life” and a reference to a quote from Fund Manager, Edouard Carmignac, founder of fund company Carmignac Gestion who refers to ETFs as "socialist accounting". Show Notes: ProfG with Prof. Jonathan Haidt, July 29, 2021 Jonathan Haidt, a social psychologist at NYU’s Stern School of Business, joins the pod again for a conversation on how social media disrupts our democracy and the mental health of young people. We also learn about Jonathan’s forthcoming book, “Three Stories about Capitalism: The moral psychology of economic life.” Follow Jonathan on Twitter, @JonHaidt.https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/the-prof-g-show-with-scott-galloway/id1498802610?l=en&i=1000530376565 The Times They Are a-Changin': In recent decades, it's not just the balance of power on the global capital market that has changed, says Edouard Carmignac, founder of the fund company of the same name, to the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (FAZ). In addition, all kinds of new investment instruments have emerged, such as passive index funds. The Carmignac boss is not particularly enthusiastic about these. "Personally, I call it socialist accounting: everyone earns the same," the daily newspaper quotes him as saying. "But I don't think it does much for the economy itself." The reason, he believes, is that ETF investors would invest primarily in mature and expensive companies.Link to the original interview in the FAZ (German)https://www.fondsprofessionell.de/news/maerkte/headline/carmignac-gruender-nennt-etfs-sozialistische-buchhaltung-208845/ Visit Stephanie's Blog at www.invest-a-vision.comStephanie is also available on Facebook, Instagram @slhaightk and @iav-publishing and LinkedInStephanie's Podcast initiation was part of Toastmasters.org as she is a member of Mercury Toastmasters in Berlin, Germany. Description: One With Nature and then, Nature and Business—an unlikely match. How could we persuade business to also become one with nature? Well, it's happening, yet here is a story conceived in the 70s as the ecology movement was in its infancy and finally 50 years later, business acknowledges it and by embracing it, makes it work profitably for all players! Show Notes:  Keep in mind that One With Nature can be abbreiviated O.W.N.
