Paul wasn't only talking about a good virtue when he said, "Love Never Fails." He was talking about how the life of Christ was reproduced in the life of His believers.     Greek Words for Love infoGraph ------------ What New Christians need to understand is when Paul states, "Love endures all things," the biblically illiterate will interpret it that as: "Keep quiet", "Do what you are told", "I can do whatever I want so just take it." However, that is spiritual abuse, not love. Love withstands adversity, but it does not justify mistreatment. Jesus died on the cross to vanquish evil, not to make it possible. In this video Rodney will be pulling back the curtain of what Paul means when he says… Love endures all things.

    Greek Words for Love infoGraph ------------ New Christians need to understand that cynicism is an open door to self sabotage It says, "I've seen this before," "Humans don't actually change." "Don't get ahead of yourself." Cynicism presents itself as knowledge, but it is usually just disillusionment and a loss of faith. Jesus saw quarreling fishermen, a tax collector no one trusted, and a denialist who vowed he didn't know Him. And yet through all that He saw His apostles. While cynicism perceives past problems. Agape Love perceives future possibilities. So when Paul writes "Love Hopes all things," he encourages the Corinthians that love does not disregard failure… And in this episode Rodney shares how Agape Love won't allow cynicism to frame the conversations.

We make a call that goes to a voicemail which is never returned. All of a sudden, a story starts to take shape in our imagination that may not be true. We think, I must have upset them… They're emotionally distancing…There must be a problem! So we start by pulling back. We keep ourselves safe. We get quieter…Colder….And yet the irony is...Oftentimes, suspicion creates the very distance it fears. When Paul writes, "Love Believes All Things…It's not because love is stupid, but because love won't let fear write the story. Some individuals make weakness worse by diminishing others. Some people are capable of handling stressful situations and circumstances better than others. So when Paul says that love bears all things, he is an example of handling anything. Love is not naive, but powerful enough to defend itself privately instead of demonstrating publicly.     Greek Words for Love infoGraph ------------ New Christians need to understand that what makes someone grin when no one else is around is a good sign of what they care about. In our culture, people laugh at failure, celebrate when someone falls, and think that exposing someone is "justice." But Paul's comments are troubling because they say that love doesn't boast in wrongdoing but in the truth. Agape love doesn't celebrate the things that hurt people; it celebrates the things that bring them back together. Today Rodney will be outlining a confronting question that will be very challenging: "What does my heart quietly applaud?"
