"Calm Confidence Isn't Weakness — It's Power, with Katherine Chestnut"

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me You look fine. You're managing, holding it all together, showing up. But inside, you're running on empty. Here's the thing — that's not a willpower problem or a mindset problem. That's a nervous system problem. This week I'm joined by Katherine Chestnut, a mindfulness and nervous system expert who helps people who look fine on the outside but feel fried inside understand what's actually happening beneath the stress — and what to do about it. Katherine's work is grounded in breathwork, nervous system regulation, and practical wisdom — no fluff, just real tools for real life. We talk about what survival mode actually looks like when you're still functioning, why striving for perfection means we stop listening to our bodies, the difference between honoring rest and pushing through, and how calm confidence and power aren't opposites. Katherine also shares her own story with real vulnerability, and leaves us with one simple, practical action to start building calm confidence tomorrow morning. We talk about: What survival mode actually looks like when you're still "managing"Why perfectionism disconnects us from what our bodies are telling usHonoring rest versus pushing through — a real example from a personal 30-day challengeThe exchange of energy, and why grounding yourself changes the room around youOne simple morning practice to start building calm confidence tomorrowWhy saying no to someone else is saying yes to yourselfWhere to find Katherine's books, meditations, and teachingIf you've been functioning on fumes while looking like you have it all together, this conversation gives you real language for what's happening — and a place to start. Control vs. Surrender: When Divine Timing Is Better Than Your Plan

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me This week was a lot — fresh off New York Fashion Week, deep in chocolate tempering trial and error, a movie release date looming, and fear creeping in about all of it. Then I watched three people I love achieve dreams they'd worked toward for years, and it reminded me: time is divine. Not our timing — divine timing. In this episode, I'm teaching what happens when you stop trying to control the outcome and start trusting the timing. I get honest about trying to force my chocolate line, my movie release, and my licensing to move on my schedule — and what that control actually cost me: blocked creativity, anxiety, broken trust, exhaustion, and missed signs (including a migraine that took me out for days). I share what I witnessed watching two friends make history hosting a Caribbean-centered show at New York Fashion Week, and another friend finally become a mother after years of difficulty — all reminders that what's meant for you arrives in its own time. I close with exercises to help you find where you're gripping control, and Wednesday, Catherine Chestnut joins me to teach exactly how to put surrender into practice. We talk about: Why control is an illusion — you can only control your effort, not the timingWhat trying to force outcomes actually costs: blocked creativity, anxiety, broken trust, exhaustion, missed signsWhat watching three people's dreams come true this week taught her about divine timingThe connection to this month's Day 8 manifestation countdown theme: releaseSeparating "your part" (showing up, doing the work, staying ready) from "God's part" (the timing, the outcome, the miracles)Exercises: naming what you're trying to force, asking how that control is working for you, and committing to your part while releasing the restA preview of Wednesday's guest, Catherine Chestnut, who will teach how to put surrender into real practiceIf you've been forcing a timeline, a business outcome, or an answer that isn't ready to come yet, this episode is the permission to do your part — and release the rest. In This Episode Grounding practice — "Your job is to do the work. God's job is the timing."What this week taught her — New York Fashion Week, chocolate tempering, and a looming movie releaseControl is an illusion — what forcing outcomes actually costsWatching three dreams come true — a history-making fashion show and a long-awaited motherhood journeyManifestation countdown, Day 8: Release — "I release the version of me that survived beautifully, but was never meant to live forever"Exercise 1: Where are you trying to control?Exercise 2: Your part vs. God's partComing Wednesday — Catherine Chestnut teaches how to put surrender into practiceClosing affirmations — "I do my part with excellence. Unlearning Fear: How to Rebuild Trust in Yourself (With Creative Coach Alexandra Beller)

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Monday, we talked about rebuilding self-trust after betrayal, trauma, or burnout. Today, my guest shows us what that actually looks like in practice. Alexandra Beller — dancer, choreographer, educator, and author of the upcoming book The Anatomy of Art — has spent decades helping artists and educators break free from old fear patterns and rebuild trust in themselves. In this conversation, she models this month's work in real time: the grief hidden inside every choice, the fear of "am I doing this right," and why the path back to trusting yourself has nothing to do with being the best or the most certain person in the room. If Monday gave you the teaching on rebuilding self-trust, this is what it looks like lived out — through an artist's relationship with fear, doubt, and her own creative voice. This conversation isn't just for dancers or choreographers — it's for anyone learning to trust themselves again after fear or old patterns have taken the wheel. We talk about: Why every creative choice carries a small grief for the possibilities not chosen — and what that has to do with fear of the unknownUsing neutral, curiosity-centered feedback (inspired by Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process) to rebuild trust instead of triggering doubtWhy needing to be the "best" or most certain in the room is actually a fear pattern — and what Alexandra unlearned about itHow non-artists can apply the same principles of unlearning fear and rebuilding trust to everyday lifeA rapid-fire lightning round on creative habits, joy, and what authenticity really meansReclaimed & Unashamed: what Alexandra wants to reclaim, and what she's letting go of shame aroundAlexandra's book, The Anatomy of Art, is available for preorder now and releases in August. In This Episode Guided meditation — "I trust my creative voice. I release perfection. I create from truth."Continuing Monday's teaching — rebuilding self-trust after betrayal, trauma, or burnoutMeet Alexandra Beller — decades of work helping artists unlearn fear and rebuild trust in themselvesThe grief inside every creative choice — infinite possibilities, one decision, and the fear underneathNeutral, curiosity-centered feedback — rebuilding trust instead of triggering doubtBeing witnessed, not led — unlearning the need to be the best or most certain in the roomApplying "unlearning fear" beyond art — noticing the habitual givens in everyday lifeLightning round — a creative habit unlearned, a joy practice, and what authenticity meansReclaimed & Unashamed — Alexandra's answer to the show's signature closing questionAbout Alexandra Beller Alexandra Beller is a performer, educator, and author whose upcoming book, The Anatomy of Art, blends poetic insight with practical tools for creative process. Rebuilding Self-Trust After Betrayal, Trauma, or Burnout

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Betrayal breaks something inside of you. So does trauma. So does burnout. All three break your ability to trust yourself — if you couldn't see the betrayal coming, how can you trust your instincts? If you burned out, what does that say about your judgment? So you stop trusting. You second-guess everything. You wait for permission. And that's when fear takes over. In this Mindset Monday episode, I'm teaching the truth about rebuilding self-trust: it isn't your fault, your weakness, or your failure — it's information. I walk through exactly what breaks self-trust, what it costs you when it's gone, and how it gets rebuilt — not in one big moment, but through F-A-I-T-H, day by day, choice by choice. I share my own experience of rebuilding trust in myself while managing invisible challenges and building every single day, and I give you five exercises to start rebuilding your own self-trust starting today. We talk about: What betrayal, trauma, and burnout actually break inside youThe cost of lost self-trust: staying small, seeking validation, losing your voiceWhy the break wasn't your fault — and how to reframe it as information, not proofThe F-A-I-T-H approach to rebuilding trust in yourselfFive exercises: naming where you lost trust, writing your fear story, flipping it to a faith statement, taking one small act of self-trust, and the faith commitmentA preview of Wednesday's guest, who will model exactly what this rebuilding looks like in real lifeIf you've been waiting for permission, second-guessing every choice, or doubting your own knowing since something broke your trust in yourself, this episode gives you the roadmap back. Nervous System First Aid While Forever Healing: Tools That Actually Work

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Monday, I told you about choosing healing ways — building a #1 podcast while managing invisible illness, explanting, and recovering. But nobody talks about what you actually do on the hard days, when your energy is depleted, your brain is foggy, and your nervous system is activated. Today I'm giving you the real tools I use — not theory, not what sounds good, but what actually got me through building while managing invisible challenges. These work for anything that drains you: illness, burnout, grief, chronic fatigue, or recovery. I walk through four practical tools: the capacity check-in (using a simple red/yellow/green system), the daily energy audit (budgeting your energy on a 1–10 scale), adaptive creating for low-capacity days (including how and why I cut this show down from an hour to 30 minutes), and a body scan for depletion to figure out exactly where you're holding exhaustion. I also get honest about recording this very episode in pieces because of my own medium-to-low capacity day, plus lingering brain fog and vertigo from BII that I still manage. We talk about: The capacity check-in: red, yellow, green, and what to create at each levelThe daily energy audit: budgeting a 1–10 scale instead of pushing throughAdaptive creating: shorter formats, more grace, leaning on your support systemThe body scan for depletion: where you're holding exhaustion and what it needsCelebrating and anchoring your energy when capacity returnsWhy honoring your capacity — not pushing through it — is how you build something sustainableIf you're managing anything that drains your energy and you've been trying to push through instead of work with it, this episode gives you tools you can use today. Faith While Forever Healing: How I Built a #1 Podcast Through BII Into Explant Recovery

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Four years ago, I sat at my altar at 50 years old and heard: do daily shows. My entire body said hell no. I had breast implant illness (BII) — an invisible chronic illness I didn't even know I had — draining my energy, fogging my brain, and attacking my immune system. Fear told me I was too sick, too tired, and too unbelievable to build a five-day-a-week self-love podcast. I said yes anyway. In this episode, I'm sharing the full journey: three years of building The Season of Self Love while managing undiagnosed BII, the moment at my altar when I heard remove those implants, what explant surgery and recovery actually looked like emotionally and physically, and how the clarity that came afterward fueled The Year of the Rebirth album. And I'm sharing the news I got this week: The Season of Self Love has been ranked the #1 self-love podcast of 2026 on the Million Podcast list — built not from a place of being fully healed, but from choosing healing ways every single day. We talk about: The altar moment that launched daily shows despite undiagnosed BIIWhat breast implant illness actually is and how it showed up in her body for 20+ yearsThe decision to explant and what recovery — physical and emotional — really looked likeHow clarity after explant surgery fueled the writing of The Year of the RebirthGetting confirmation of the #1 podcast ranking, and what "choosing healing ways" actually meansWhy faith isn't "I'm healed, so now I build" — it's "I'm healing, and I'm building anyway"If you've ever felt like you had to wait until you were fully healed to start building the thing you're called to do, this episode is proof that you don't. Your Fear Inventory: What Happened When Fear Showed Up While I Was Teaching About It

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Monday morning, I sat down to record about fear — your guardian, real danger versus imagined danger — and fear showed up so loud I couldn't finish. My shoulders tightened, my throat closed, my breath got shallow, and I heard my guardian say: if you teach this, people will see you're scared and won't believe you. So I stopped recording and went to my altar for answers. In this episode, I'm sharing exactly what happened next — the three cards that fell out when I shuffled and prayed, and the three exercises they revealed: stopping assumptions to make your word impeccable, understanding that your words are spells you cast on yourself and others, and the freeing truth that everyone is living in their own dream. I close with a real, unscripted fear inventory and a master commitment I want you to write and say out loud with me. This is Season 5 in action — not teaching from a safe distance, but teaching while living it. We talk about: What happened when fear showed up mid-recording and why I had to stopThe three-card message from my altar (Four Agreements cards, chakra cards, and prayer)Exercise 1: Stopping assumptions to make your word impeccableExercise 2: Your word as a spell — what fear was saying to me, and the spell I chose insteadExercise 3: Everyone is in their own dream — releasing the fear of judgmentThe fear inventory exercise, from your real, current place — not theoryThe master commitment: "I will not let fear silence me"If you've ever frozen up right when you were about to teach, lead, or show up as yourself, this episode is proof that showing up scared and doing it anyway is the real work. Fear tried to silence me, but I speak anyway."What happened Monday morning — fear showing up in real time while recordingThe altar moment — three cards, three messagesExercise 1: Stop the assumptions, make your word impeccableExercise 2: Your word is a spell — naming fear's spell and choosing your ownExercise 3: People are in their own dream — releasing the fear of judgmentFear inventory — bracing, assumptions, spells, and what you choose insteadThe master commitment — "Starting today, I speak."Closing affirmations — "I cast my own spell. Fear as Survival: When Protection Becomes a Prison (Faith vs. Fear, Part 1)

💬 Got something to share? Text or voice note me Fear isn't the problem — your body needs fear. It's kept you alive since the day you were born. But what happens when fear stops protecting you and starts controlling you? That's when protection becomes a prison. This month, we're breaking free. In this episode, I kick off September's series, Faith vs. Fear, by breaking down exactly how fear works inside you: the internal "guardian" whose only job is danger-protect, why it can't tell the difference between a real threat and an imagined one, and how your past becomes your present through pattern matching. I get personal about how this shows up for me right now — heading into a new chapter, a new birthday, new people, new opportunities — and why living in constant protection mode leaves you exhausted, defended, and unable to rest, trust, connect, or feel joy. The good news: your guardian learned fear, which means it can learn safety too. That's September's work. We talk about: Why fear is a survival mechanism, not a weaknessReal danger vs. imagined danger, and why your body responds to both the same wayHow your "internal guardian" records past hurt and scans for matching patternsWhy fear becomes your default after real betrayal or traumaThe cost of living in survival mode — and why you can't rest, trust, or feel joy thereHow to start teaching your guardian safetyWhat's ahead this month: recognizing triggers, rewiring through repetition, and building evidence of safetyIf you've ever wondered why you're always scanning for danger even when you're safe, this episode explains exactly what's happening in your body — and how to start changing it. In This Episode Grounding practice — "Fear, I see you. I take back my power."Fear as a survival mechanism — why your body needs itMeet your internal guardian — the alarm system with one job: danger, protectReal danger vs. imagined danger — why your body can't tell the differenceHow your past becomes your present — pattern matching and triggered guardiansThe cost of living in protection mode — can't rest, trust, connect, or feel joySponsor break — Elevate Me's Labor Day SaleTeaching your guardian safety — why it takes consistency and repetitionThis month's roadmap — recognizing triggers, rewiring, building evidence of safetyClosing affirmations — "I don't live in survival mode anymore.
