    Craig Clapper

In this episode I interview Craig Clapper, who served as the pastor of Trinity Church for over 26 years and fulfilled a lifelong dream of completing a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. Craig shares his experiences of long-term pastoral leadership, the challenges and rewards of shepherding a congregation for decades, and how his journey on the Appalachian Trail matured his faith. Tune in for an inspiring conversation about perseverance, the beauty of nature, and how Craig's adventure transformed both his personal life and his ministry. Links Books Legging It by Craig Clapper. Resources Topical Memory System (TMS) Quotes “‘(Emily) "Does anyone ever realize life while they live it...every, every minute?’ (Stage Manager) ‘No. Saints and poets maybe...they do some.’” Thornton Wilder (Our Town) “If you think of this world as a place intended simply for our happiness, you find it quite intolerable: think of it as a place of training and correction and it’s not so bad. Imagine a set of people all living in the same building. Half of them think it is a hotel, the other half think it is a prison. Those who think it a hotel might regard it as quite intolerable and those who thought it was a prison might decide that it was really surprisingly comfortable. So that what seems the ugly doctrine is one that comforts and strengthens you in the end. The people who try to hold an optimistic view of this world would become pessimists: the people who hold a pretty stern view of it become optimistic.” S. Lewis (God in the Dock)

    Mac Lake (Kinda)

In this episode, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Mac Lake, a leader I’ve admired for a long time. Unfortunately, due to a technical issue, we lost most of our conversation, and only about 10 minutes of the interview were saved. This was a hard pill to swallow, especially after months of planning and anticipation. Despite this setback, I’m sharing the portion we were able to recover, where Mac shares briefly on leadership and personal growth. Though short, this segment captures a small portion of Mac’s wisdom and experience. As a token of appreciation, Mac has offered our listeners a 10% discount on his books and resources at The Multiply Group using the code FAMOUSFRIENDS. You can also download his free ebook, “Rethinking Leadership Development,” at multiplygroup.org/ebook. I’m deeply sorry that we couldn’t bring you the full interview, but I’m trusting that God has a purpose in this. I hope you find encouragement and value in what we do have to share.
