Bayan Abusneineh, Charlene Carruthers, and Lau Barrios - Palestine, Tech, & Reproductive Justice

This episode focuses on the connections between reproductive justice, tech, and Palestine. We touch on the militarization of tech in Palestine and here in the US, and what people–specifically tech workers–can do to combat the use of technology in upholding racism and apartheid. This conversation was recorded in November 2023. While “the lies of the US imperialism and western imperialism [were] on full display,” then, as Charlene Carruthers said in our episode, unfortunately the genocide has continued and escalated as this episode is released in June 2024. We hope this conversation contributes to our movements coming together in solidarity to make connections and fight against imperialism and settler colonialism worldwide.  Just a heads up, we get into some difficult descriptions of the violence of war and what giving birth in Palestine looks like in this moment. Please take care of yourself. Our guests for this episode were Dr. Bayan Abusneineh, Charlene Carruthers, and Lau Barrios.  Other organizations and resources mentioned in this episode: US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR): uscpr.org Dream Defenders: dreamdefenders.org Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP): jewishvoiceforpeace.org The Abortion Fund of Ohio’s statement on Palestine & reproductive justice: abortionfundofohio.org/afo_pal_solidarity Techies for Reproductive Justice is a project of the Digital Defense Fund.
