The 1 Thing You Need To Be a Good Parent

🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me / Book a session: grant@grantberardi.com 🔗 Website: www.grantberardi.com 🔗 The Integrity Compass book — coming soon This is what it takes to be a good parent: All you have to do is try. Not to be perfect. Not to have all the answers. Not to be interested in everything your kids are into. Just showing up, being intentional, and making the effort. When you're tired, when it's inconvenient, when you'd rather do something else. The bar is actually low. But a lot of parents are still missing it. In this episode I'm talking about how easy it's become to waste the time we could be spending with our kids, why intentional effort is all it actually takes, and why the decisions you make today will shape your relationship with your kids for decades. In this episode we cover: → Why it's become easier than ever to do nothing as a parent → The difference between being in the room and actually being present → Why "just trying" is genuinely enough → How devices and screens are eating the time we could give our kids → Why your kids will remember effort far more than perfection → Why habit becomes your norm, and how to make effort your default You can do this. Your kids are worth your effort. Why Having Integrity Is the Most Countercultural Thing You Can Do Right Now

🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me / Book a session: grant@grantberardi.com 🔗 Website: www.grantberardi.com 🔗 The Integrity Compass book — coming soon 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Why Being Honest With Yourself Is the Only Option: https://youtu.be/tamBHGXjtIQ → Why Most Men Are Just Existing (Not Living): https://youtu.be/pseFEwb0Hro → Your View of Yourself Is Getting in Your Way: https://youtu.be/gi0Z00C5SoM Victimhood has become an identity. Accountability has become optional. And doing the right thing when nobody's watching has become genuinely rare. Which means integrity, real integrity, might be the most countercultural thing you can do right now. Not rebellion. Just being someone who says what they mean, does what they say, and owns it when they get it wrong. Someone who doesn't compromise their character is now a scarcity. In this episode I'm talking about why integrity matters more than ever, what it actually costs you, what it gives back, and how to use it as a compass when life gets complicated. In this episode we cover: → Why victimhood and integrity can't coexist → The difference between acknowledging pain and choosing to live there → What integrity actually costs — relationships, convenience, belonging → What integrity gains you — self-trust, quiet confidence, and a life you can actually stand behind → Why keeping promises to yourself is one of the most underrated acts of integrity → Integrity as a compass, not a rulebook — how to navigate difficult situations without losing who you are → The Integrity Gap — the distance between who you say you are and how you actually live → The Integrity Compass — the book I've been writing and why I believe this could help so many people → A practical challenge to close your gap starting today This episode is for anyone who's tired of watching standards disappear and wants to be the exception. If this episode challenged you, share it with someone who needs to hear it. Integrity is contagious. Are You Outsourcing Your Responsibility as a Parent?

🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: grant@grantberardi.com 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Why Being Honest With Yourself Is the Only Option https://youtu.be/tamBHGXjtIQ → Presence Over Perfection: Heart-led Parenting https://youtu.be/SYpgBazSpyw → Your View of Yourself Is Getting in Your Way https://youtu.be/gi0Z00C5SoM You can't complain about who your kids are becoming if you've delegated the job to someone else. That's a hard truth but it's one we have to sit with. Modern parenting has more "outs" than ever. Screens, sport, school, church, coaches, teachers — all genuinely valuable things. But for some parents, they've quietly become a way to hand off responsibility rather than complement it. This episode is an honest look at the ways parents — including me — can slip into outsourcing mode without even realising it. In this episode we cover: → What outsourcing parental responsibility looks like in everyday life → Screen time — the most common and convenient out → Sport — are you investing in it or just dropping them off? → School — why your responsibility doesn't stop at the school gate → Character & integrity — the one thing you absolutely cannot outsource → Faith — why putting it entirely on the church isn't enough → Why your kids need to know you're invested — not just present → What to do if you recognise yourself in any of this You're still responsible. Regardless of how tired you are, how busy you are, or how many people are helping. They are your kids. Full stop. A Quick Self-Audit

It's been a wild week — so instead of a long, structured episode, this one's a short, off-the-cuff check-in. Because it's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget to actually look at where we're heading. The division, the news, the things to be outraged about, the things that distract us — it's the easiest thing in the world to drift, and we usually don't drift toward anything worthwhile. This episode is a reminder to take stock. To look at your actions, your thoughts, your outlook — fairly, without bias in either direction — and ask: is this actually moving me toward the life I want? In this episode we cover: → Why taking stock matters more than we realise → The difference between an inflated, deflated, and honest view of yourself → How your outlook quietly shapes your motivation and capability → Why discipline moves the needle further than motivation ever will → How to actually build "taking stock" into a regular practice — not just a once-off Short, real, and straight from where I'm at this week. I hope it helps you take stock too. 🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: grant@grantberardi.com 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Why Being Honest With Yourself Is the Only Option https://youtu.be/tamBHGXjtIQ → What You Focus On, You Move Towards https://youtu.be/XDyDMeydiw8 → Your View of Yourself Is Getting in Your Way https://youtu.be/gi0Z00C5SoM #takestock #personaldevelopment #selfreflection #heartledparenting #mindset #weeklycheckin #consciousliving #growthmindset #discipline #intentionalliving #dadlife #dad

5 Reasons You're Not Being Honest With Yourself

Most people believe they're self-aware. Research says only 10-15% actually are. That means 85% of us are walking around thinking we've got a handle on ourselves — while quietly avoiding the things we most need to look at. This episode is about self-honesty. Not self-criticism. Not harsh judgment. Just the willingness to look at yourself — all of it, the good and the bad — and stop pretending the hard stuff isn't there. Because you can't become who you want to be unless you're honest about who you currently are. In this episode we cover: → What self-honesty actually is (and what it isn't) → The difference between self-awareness and self-honesty — and why awareness alone isn't enough → The real reasons people avoid being honest with themselves: ego protection, cognitive dissonance, familiar narratives, social performance, and fear → The Integrity Gap — why you can't build an authentic life on denial → What self-honesty costs you short term vs what self-deception costs you long term → Self-honesty as a parent — are you the parent you think you are? → Self-honesty in marriage — why real intimacy requires two people who are actually showing up → Six confronting questions to ask yourself right now → A practical daily framework for building self-honesty into your life From my 12 years of counselling work, the people who grow the most are the ones willing to be the most honest with themselves. This episode is for those people. 🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: https://www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: grant@grantberardi.com 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Your View of Yourself Is Getting in Your Way https://youtu.be/gi0Z00C5SoM → Why Most Men Are Just Existing (Not Living) https://youtu.be/pseFEwb0Hro → Raising Kids Who Actually Want to Talk to You https://youtu.be/Qby_M4YMICM If this episode challenged you — share it with someone who needs to hear it. #selfhonesty #personaldevelopment #selfawareness #integritygap #heartledparenting #mindset #consciousparenting #accountability #growthmindset #selfimprovement

Raising Kids Who Think for Themselves and Still Respect Others

The world is raising two kinds of kids right now. Kids with no convictions who go wherever the wind blows, and kids with beliefs so rigid they can't tolerate anyone who thinks differently. Neither of those is the goal. What we actually want is to raise children who know what they believe, know why they believe it — and can still sit across from someone who completely disagrees and treat them with genuine dignity and curiosity. In a world of algorithms, echo chambers, and outrage culture, that might be the most countercultural thing a parent can do in 2026. In this episode I'm talking about how to actually build that in your kids — the conviction, the humility, and the ability to disagree well — before the algorithm does it for you. In this episode we cover: → Why social media rewards outrage and ignores nuance — and what that's doing to your kids → What "strong opinions, loosely held" actually means for a child's development → The difference between conviction and rigidity — and why it matters → The integrity gap: performing beliefs to fit in vs. genuinely owning them → Why kids raised in echo chambers develop fragile morals and fragile character → How intellectual humility is one of the most protective things you can build into your child → The lighthouse principle → Practical things you can do at home to make disagreement safe and normal → How to model respectful disagreement yourself — including with your faith As a counsellor of over 12 years and a dad of five, I've seen both ends of this. Kids with no anchor and kids whose beliefs were never their own. This episode is about the third option. 🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: https://www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: grant@grantberardi.com 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Raising Kids Who Actually Want to Talk to You https://youtu.be/Qby_M4YMICM → Why Most Men Are Just Existing (Not Living) https://youtu.be/pseFEwb0Hro → What You Focus On, You Move Towards https://youtu.be/XDyDMeydiw8 If this episode resonated — please share it with someone. Your View of Yourself Is Getting in Your Way (And You Don't Even Know It)

There's a version of you that is more capable, more confident, and more successful than the one you're currently living as. And the only thing standing between you and that version? The way you see yourself. Not your circumstances. Not your background. Not your talent level. Your self-image — the story you've been telling yourself — is quietly running the show. And most of the time, you don't even realise it's happening. In this episode I'm talking about one of the most important things I keep coming back to: how the way we see ourselves limits what we're willing to try, what we think we deserve, and how much of our own potential we're actually using. In this episode we cover: → Why you're your own harshest critic — and why that's costing you → How self-image affects your finances, relationships, parenting and career → Why we disqualify ourselves before anyone else even gets the chance → The fact that nobody at the gym cares as much as you do → How to start shifting your inner monologue from one that limits you to one that grows you → What this means for your kids — and the self-talk you're modelling for them every day → Ownership, accountability and integrity as the foundation for lasting change This isn't about toxic positivity or pretending everything is fine. It's about seeing yourself more accurately, because you're more than you realise. 🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: https://www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: grant@grantberardi.com 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Why Most Men Are Just Existing (Not Living) https://youtu.be/pseFEwb0Hro → What You Focus On, You Move Towards https://youtu.be/XDyDMeydiw8 → Raising Kids Who Actually Want to Talk to You https://youtu.be/Qby_M4YMICM If this episode resonated with you, share it with someone who needs to hear it. 00:00 Self View Blocks You 00:59 Physical Self Criticism 02:41 Ceilings On Confidence 03:31 Parent Identity Check 04:23 Talent Versus Effort 05:56 Money Identity Trap 07:53 Relationship Self Sabotage 10:32 Stop Disqualifying Yourself 12:11 Ownership Accountability Integrity 13:34 Reticular Focus Reframe 15:35 Teach Kids Growth Mindset 17:55 Final Challenge And Next Steps #selfimage #selftalk #personaldevelopment #mindset #selfbelief #consciousparenting #heartledparenting #growthmindset #limitingbeliefs #personalgrowth

What Nobody Tells You About Grief

Grief is one of the most universal human experiences — and yet nobody really teaches us how to do it. We're not warned about it. We're not prepared for it. And when it arrives, most of us are left navigating it alone, with very little understanding of what's actually happening. This episode is about the things nobody tells you about grief. Not just the loss itself — but the hidden connections, the unexpected moments, and the parts of grief that catch you completely off guard. Like standing in a supermarket aisle, seeing a bottle of chili oil, and suddenly finding yourself with tears in your eyes...In this episode we cover: → Why grief is far bigger than most people realise — and why it's not just about death → Grieving a job, a relationship, a dream, a pet — and why all of it counts → The stages of grief and what nobody tells you about how they actually work → Why grief isn't linear — and why that's completely okay → The hidden connections in grief that nobody talks about → The "99% and 1%" framework for understanding the full picture of your loss → Why grieving is not weakness — it's one of the most loving things you can do → Practical tools for moving through grief rather than being stuck in it This episode also includes personal stories from my own grief — losing my dad, and the moments I wasn't prepared for. 📌 WATCH NEXT: → Episode on teaching your kids to grieve: https://youtu.be/ZBau0ySIM9g → 80% of Suicides Are Men — Why Are We Barely Talking About It? https://youtu.be/qFRjf60Fxvg → A Man Without Purpose Searches for Pleasure: https://youtu.be/pseFEwb0Hro 🔗 90 Day Purpose Reset Guide: www.grantberardi.com/pvp90dayreset 🔗 Work with me: www.grantberardi.com If this episode helped you, please share it with someone who is grieving right now.
