Golden Fractures is a podcast that was created to remind you that you are loved. You are loved and you can feel joy. True joy comes from knowing who you really are. We get to know ourselves better by getting to know our Savior, Jesus Christ, better. Christ can make beauty out of our imperfections. We can use our shortcomings to show love to others in our lives--including ourselves. We each have our strengths, but are sometimes blinded by our insecurities.     Christlike Attribute: Godliness

    Most of us don’t think much about the Christlike attribute of godliness. It can almost feel like one of those spiritual words we hear in church but don’t fully understand. But as I’ve studied it, I’ve realized godliness is so much more personal—and so much more attainable—than I ever imagined. In this episode, I’m sharing what surprised me most during my study of godliness and how this divine attribute isn’t reserved for people who are spiritually “perfect.” Godliness is something God invites all of us into right now, even in the middle of our weaknesses, struggles, and imperfect lives. I talk about how ordinances and covenants aren’t just symbolic traditions—they are actual channels of divine power. Through ordinances like baptism, we’re connected to heaven in a very real way, and little by little, we can begin to take on the nature of Jesus Christ. I also share why I’ve come to see baptism differently—not just as a one-time event, but as an entrance into the kingdom of God and a life connected to heavenly power.     Christlike Attribute: Purity

    Purity is one of those words we often reduce to “avoiding bad things,” but the more I study the life of Christ, the more I realize purity is so much deeper than that. It’s not just about staying clean—it’s about becoming refined through Jesus Christ. In this episode, I’m diving into the Christlike attribute of purity and exploring how the process of sanctification is a lot like refining metal. God doesn’t expect instant perfection from us. He works with us layer by layer, helping us release impurities and become something stronger, holier, and more beautiful through the Savior’s Atonement. I talk about the different stages of spiritual refinement and how daily repentance, covenants, and the companionship of the Holy Ghost are all part of becoming pure in heart. We’ll also talk about why Zion isn’t just a place—it’s a condition of the heart—and how every small effort to turn toward Christ matters. I share insights from leaders like Elder David A. Bednar and Marion G. Romney that have completely changed the way I view growth, repentance, and the refining process. Because purity isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about continually letting Christ shape and cleanse us as we keep trying.     Most of us don’t even realize how easily the things of the world can start pulling our hearts away from God. Not always through obvious sin, but through distraction, comfort, validation, achievement, or even good things that slowly become the center of our lives. In this episode, I’m talking about the Christlike attribute of forgoing worldliness and what it actually means to live with our hearts focused on eternal things instead of temporary ones. We’ll look at moments from the Savior’s life that show us what this attribute really looks like—not just in what He taught, but in how He lived. From feeding the 5,000 and walking away from worldly recognition, to the rich young ruler struggling to let go of what mattered most to him, Christ continually showed us that fulfillment isn’t found in status, possessions, or the approval of the world. I also dive into how worldliness shows up in modern life in subtle ways—through social media, comparison, pride, comfort, busyness, and the constant pull to build our identity around things other than God. Because the truth is, anything—even a really good thing—can become an idol when it becomes the main source of meaning in our lives. This episode is an invitation to honestly examine what we may be holding onto that’s keeping us from fully following Christ. We talk about sacrifice, surrender, trust, and the beauty of the Savior’s example as He willingly gave up everything out of love for the Father and for us.     Healing One Small Step at a Time | My Personal Story of Finding Christ

    I think a lot of us spend our lives trying to feel God’s love, wondering why peace feels so far away, or questioning why healing doesn’t come faster. In this episode, I share my own journey through faith, depression, doubt, healing, and learning how to truly know Jesus Christ for myself. I talk about growing up in a gospel-centered home while quietly battling fear, judgment, perfectionism, and a heavy fog of depression that followed me for years. For a long time, I believed in God—but I didn’t really know how to let Him into the deepest, most broken parts of me. I share the moments that slowly changed everything for me: moving away from home, stepping into uncomfortable situations, finding genuine community, going to therapy, and learning that healing often comes through small acts of courage and consistency. What I discovered is that God’s love usually doesn’t arrive in loud, dramatic ways. More often, it gently fills the cracks over time. In this conversation, I open up about what it looked like to study scripture with real intent, wrestle through spiritual numbness, and keep reaching for Christ even when I couldn’t feel Him. I share the moment my Savior became personal to me—not just someone I believed in, but someone I truly knew. We also talk about mental health, faith, wilderness seasons, and the quiet persistence it takes to keep moving forward when everything feels dark. You can’t borrow spiritual oil. That part is yours. I also break down Alma 32 in a really practical way—what it looks like to plant a seed of faith, to nourish it, and to keep showing up even when growth feels slow. Because that steady, consistent effort? That’s where change happens. We’ll talk about what happens when we neglect our spiritual growth—and why it’s more serious than we sometimes think. But more importantly, we’ll talk about how to prevent that. Simple, daily things that keep your faith alive and growing. And I share a powerful reminder from the Savior Himself—what diligence looked like in His life, even in His hardest moments.     Christlike Attribute: Mercy

    Most of us think of mercy as simply being spared—but what if it’s so much more than that? In this episode, we explore the Christlike attribute of mercy and how it is made possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As our Advocate, He doesn’t just stand beside us—He pleads our cause, sees our full story, and offers us something far greater than we deserve. We talk about how mercy doesn’t ignore justice, but fulfills it, how Christ not only forgives our sins, but invites us to be changed through sanctification, and how His “tender mercies” show up in our everyday lives in ways we might not always recognize. Through powerful scriptural moments—like the woman taken in adultery and Christ’s words on the cross—we see that His mercy is not conditional kindness, but divine love in action. But receiving mercy is only part of the story. Sometimes the hardest step is extending that same mercy to others—and even to ourselves. If Christ is constantly extending mercy to you,what would it look like to fully receive it—and then live it?

    Most of us talk about Jesus’s mercy, but not His justice. And honestly? When we ignore His justice, we miss a huge part of His love. In this episode of Golden Fractures, I’m diving into what it really means that Christ is both perfectly merciful and perfectly just—and how understanding both can completely change the way you see God, and yourself. We’ll talk about how Jesus raises the standard, and why that’s not meant to discourage us—but actually to draw us closer to Him. I share some of my favorite insights from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and President Oaks that helped me see justice in a totally different light—not as punishment, but as love in action. We’ll also walk through what this looks like in real life: How do you live with justice without becoming harsh or judgmental? How do you stand for truth while still leading with love? And how do you trust God’s justice when you feel like you’re falling short? Because here’s the truth—God’s justice isn’t working against you… it’s working for your growth.
