How God Uses Hard Seasons To Shape Your Calling

Send us Fan Mail Pain has a way of making God feel distant, even when you want to believe He’s close. I’m Colette Marie, and I’m speaking to the woman of faith who is tired, hurting, and quietly wondering, “What could God possibly do with this?” I slow down and tell the truth about my own worst season after my marriage ended: the heartbreak, the loneliness, the fear about the future, and the days when I didn’t even feel like praying. Instead of skipping to a neat ending, I share how desperation became the doorway to a deeper relationship with God, and how that relationship began to heal and rebuild me from the inside out. Romans 8:28 is the foundation, not as a slogan, but as a hard-won promise that “all things” really means all things. I also walk through Numbers 13, where the Israelites see both grapes and giants, and how we can get so focused on what stands in the way that we forget who sent us. If you’re navigating divorce recovery, chronic stress, a diagnosis, financial pressure, or a long wait for breakthrough, this is faith-based encouragement for real life. You’ll leave with a clearer view of purpose in pain, practical ways to resist isolation, and a reminder that God doesn’t waste your story. The Shift w/Dr. Tasari Litherland

Send us Fan Mail When you’re tired of “being strong” and you’re tempted to rush out of the season you’re in, the real question is deeper: are you enduring with your eyes on Jesus, or just trying to survive until something changes? We sit down with Dr. Tasari Litherland to talk about Christian endurance, spiritual warfare, and the lived reality of carrying a cross while still showing up for family, work, and ministry. Along the way, we anchor the conversation in Scripture like Romans 8:28 and Hebrews 12, because endurance is not just grit. It is faith with direction.  We also unpack what we call “the shift,” the spiritual transformation that follows endurance. The shift does not always mean your circumstances change overnight, but it does mean you start seeing differently: renewed thinking, clearer identity, deeper maturity, and the courage to stop comparing your race to someone else’s. We talk about what it looks like to discern healthy versus unhealthy relationships, recognize conviction as growth, practice vulnerability, and forgive when you’ve been wronged, all signs that God is doing real work beneath the surface.  Finally, we get practical about anxiety, fear, and self-care. Sometimes the battle is spiritual, sometimes it is compounded by neglected health and nonstop stress, and often it is both. We share encouragement for staying connected to community, guarding what you tell yourself, and continuing the race even when your pace slows. If you’re a woman of faith navigating hardship, spiritual growth, and a difficult season, this conversation will help you name where you are and take your next faithful step. When God Funds The Calling

Send us Fan Mail The call finally comes, but it arrives at the worst possible time. I’ve dreamed about going on a mission trip for years, imagining the people I’d meet and the chance to share God’s love, yet when the door actually opened I wasn’t jumping up and down. I was calculating, worrying, and quietly hoping the deadline would pass. If you’ve ever wanted to obey God but felt blocked by finances, responsibilities, or fear of hearing “no,” you’ll recognize yourself here. I talk through the real tension between faith and pressure: competing priorities, urgent needs, and the nagging thought that saying yes to God will cost more than you can spare. Then I share the moment everything shifted, when I heard a simple word in my spirit: “If you take care of my business, I will take care of yours.” That reminder lines up with Romans 8:28 and Matthew 6:33, and it reframes trust as action, not wishful thinking. You’ll also hear how God provided in a way that made it unmistakably His hand at work, including unexpected giving and matched support that moved the total from overwhelming to nearly complete. My prayer is that you take this as a restart, a do-over, and a push to take the first step toward the desire God placed in your heart. If this encourages you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review so more women of faith can find it. God Already Knew The Obstacles You Fear

Send us Fan Mail God can show us the promised land and we still hesitate on the edge. That tension is the heartbeat of this message: we want the promise, but we keep replaying the obstacles. We’re sitting in Numbers 13, where the spies see a land overflowing with fruit and still come back overwhelmed by giants. It’s a painfully familiar picture of what happens when fear becomes the loudest voice in our head. We talk about what a “bad report” looks like today: focusing on everything that could go wrong, assuming God didn’t account for the bumps and bruises, and shrinking our calling down to the size of our insecurity. The line that stings the most is the one that exposes identity: “we saw ourselves as grasshoppers.” When self-doubt takes over, we start imagining other people’s opinions, comparing ourselves to someone who looks more qualified, and quietly retreating to what feels safe. That’s how we miss purpose, delay spiritual growth, and settle for less than God’s best. Then we pivot to what builds courage. Sometimes the crowd is loud, but faith still speaks. We’re reminded that God is a promise keeper, that He equips what He calls, and that we’re not walking alone. If you’re looking for Christian encouragement, faith for hard seasons, overcoming fear, and a mindset shift rooted in Scripture, this is your sign to stop staring at the giants and start moving toward your Canaan. When Life Is Hard

Send us Fan Mail When life is lifeing and it feels like everything is coming at you at once, it is easy to wonder where God is and whether you are about to go under. I talk candidly about those moments when faith feels harder than usual, when bills are due, hearts are aching, prayers feel delayed, and the world around us adds even more weight. If you have ever felt overwhelmed, alone, or quietly angry while still trying to believe, you will feel seen here.  I walk through what helps me when my back is against the wall: anchoring myself in Almighty God, remembering what He has already done, and fighting the “amnesia” that makes us forget God’s past provision. We turn to concrete, comforting Bible promises like Psalm 46:1, Matthew 11:28, and Joshua 1:9, and I share how asking God for “a word” or even “a song” can steady your spirit. A simple hymn, “’Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus,” becomes a lifeline and a daily prayer for grace to trust Him more.  You will come away with Christian encouragement you can use right away, plus practical faith habits for anxiety, grief, financial stress, and uncertainty: honest prayer, Scripture anchoring, worship that shifts the atmosphere, and a reminder that God is constant even when circumstances are not. If this conversation strengthens you, subscribe, share it with someone who needs hope today, and leave a review. What is the one verse or worship song you run to when life gets hard? The Messy Middle

Send us Fan Mail The hardest part of your story usually isn’t the beginning or the ending. It’s the middle, when the bills stack up, the doubts get loud, and you’re still trying to show up with faith even when nothing looks “glam” from the outside. I’m Colette Marie, and I’m talking straight about what I call the messy middle: the unfinished chapters we’re tempted to hide while we post only the mountaintop moments. We look at social media and assume everyone else is thriving, but so many of us are quietly asking, “God, where are You in this?” I share why authenticity matters, how discernment keeps honesty from becoming oversharing, and why the broken places in your story can be a blessing to someone who feels alone. You’ll also hear me open up about my own wrestle with calling, confidence, and building, including the pressure of trying to get clients and the fear that I’m not doing what God wants me to do. We talk practical encouragement too: praying, staying in the Word, finding community, using resources, and being willing to tell the truth when someone close asks how you’re really doing. I lean on Proverbs 3:5–6 and Romans 8:28 as reminders that God can direct your path and use even this season for good and for purpose. If you’re in a hard season of faith, entrepreneurship, relationships, or family life, let this be your reminder that you haven’t been forgotten. God Sees You

Send us Fan Mail When life gets loud and God feels quiet, the first lie we tend to believe is that we’re alone. I’m speaking to the tired heart that’s asking, “Where are You, God?” and the person who feels unseen in relationships, overlooked at work, or emotionally spent from a valley season that won’t end. If you’ve ever wondered whether God still cares about the details of your life, this conversation is a gentle but firm reminder that His silence is not His absence. We walk through three anchor Scriptures that bring real Christian encouragement without pretending pain isn’t real. We start with Hagar’s wilderness moment in Genesis 16:13 where she names God “El Roi,” the God who sees. Then we move to Jeremiah 31:3 and God’s promise of an everlasting love that does not change when we struggle, doubt, or feel far away. Finally, we sit with Ephesians 3:17-19, asking God to root us in love and help us grasp the width, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge. If you’ve been searching for Bible verses for anxiety, loneliness, or feeling abandoned by God, these passages meet you right where you are. I also pray for you at the end, asking God to minister to you in stillness and make His Word come alive in your heart. If this encouraged you, subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next, share it with a friend who needs comfort, and leave a review to help more people find this message.  Be encouraged my friend, God is aware of and is acquainted with your grief and He will not leave nor forsake you. Why The Cross Still Matters When Life Hurts

Send us Fan Mail Good Friday hits differently when you’re already carrying something heavy. I’m Collette Marie, and today I’m sitting with the raw meaning of the cross: an innocent Jesus taking the punishment we deserved, choosing sacrifice so we can have access to God, forgiveness, and life everlasting. If you’ve ever wondered whether God really sees your pain, this conversation offers a steady, faith-filled answer. We talk about the moments when hardship, trials, finances, sickness, or heartbreak make you feel abandoned. I keep coming back to this truth: God understands because He came close. Jesus knows weakness, grief, and pressure, and Scripture says He is touched by what we feel. When you can’t go any further in your own strength, you can still pray honestly, ask for grace, and take the next step without pretending you’re fine. We also connect Good Friday to purpose and calling. Your position in life right now, even the painful parts, doesn’t cancel the plan God has for you. I reflect on Exodus and the tabernacle, where God gives people wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for the work He assigns. Your gifts aren’t random, and they aren’t meant to stay dormant. God can use what He placed in you to encourage someone else, to redeem a story, and to show love in practical ways. If this Christian podcast episode encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a sister who needs hope, and leave a review so more listeners can find it. What are you carrying today, and what gift do you want to put back in motion? The Cross gives us hope and I prays that today you will be reminded of ALL Christ did so you didn’t have to face the penalty of your sin. Be reminded that the Cross reminds us of the gifts we have and how we should use them for the glory of God.
