408 My Chemical Romance, Bear Crime, and LA Comic Con

408 My Chemical Romance, Bear Crime, and LA Comic Con Doom Scrolling Intro My Chemical Romance turned the Hollywood Bowl into The Black Parade, a Florida bear stole booze out of somebody’s refrigerator, and LA Comic Con is about to test every ounce of financial restraint The Foos have left. Halloween weekend hasn’t even started yet and things are already getting expensive. Joe and Steph kick things off by recapping My Chemical Romance at the Hollywood Bowl, where the band celebrated 20 years of The Black Parade with a full theatrical production. Joe refuses to accept that the album came out in 2006, Steph gets Teenagers, Joe gets Cancer, and Metalhead Nelson gets a huge thank-you for hooking them up with tickets. There’s also a Godzilla popcorn bucket update: one of the two coveted Godzilla Minus Zero collectibles has officially arrived, while the giant Godzilla statue is still making its way across the country before the movie hits theaters. Then Joe complains about daylight saving time, because apparently humanity looked at clocks and decided they weren’t annoying enough already. And welcome to a possible new recurring segment: This Week in Bear Crime. After last week’s library bear celebrated Winnie-the-Pooh by stealing honey, a Florida black bear raids somebody’s garbage, opens an outdoor refrigerator, and steals an alcoholic Sun Cruiser. At this rate, next week’s bear is getting a DUI. Geeking Out is all about LA Comic Con 2026, happening Halloween weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Joe and Steph count down the five things they’re most excited about — starting with Nicolas Cage, whose photo-op price immediately threatens the weekend budget. Akiba Station returns with anime, gaming, collectibles, its stamp rally, Bang Zoom! voice-acting auditions, and a huge Dragon Ball presence featuring the voices behind Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and more. Then there’s enough Star Wars talent to populate a small galaxy: Hayden Christensen, Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan, plus special Anakin, Ahsoka and Boba Fett photo opportunities that cost approximately one human kidney. Halloween Saturday brings cosplay, indoor trick-or-treating, hundreds of artists and vendors, and countless opportunities for Joe and Steph to buy things they absolutely did not plan on buying. They also preview a Godzilla takeover in Little Tokyo, including limited figures, exclusive posters, Terror of Mechagodzilla, and a special appearance from Tomoko Ai. Basically, next weekend is LA Comic Con, Halloween, Star Wars, Dragon Ball, Nicolas Cage, Godzilla, cosplay and extremely poor financial judgment all happening at once. 407 Winnie-the-Pooh Bear Heist, Street Fighter Chaos, and Clayface Melts His Eyelids

407 Winnie-the-Pooh Bear Heist, Street Fighter Chaos, and Clayface Melts His Eyelids Doom Scrolling Intro A bear broke into a library on Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th birthday and stole the honey, Street Fighter critics apparently forgot what Street Fighter is supposed to be, and Clayface is cutting his own melting eyelids apart with scissors. Somehow, that’s only part of this week’s episode. Joe starts with an important update: the Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn buckets are officially in transit and scheduled to arrive Tuesday. The giant 3D Godzilla and swimming-lid tin have now crossed from “unnecessary internet purchase” into “national shipping operation.” Then comes possibly the best animal story of the year. A black bear wandered into the Mammoth Lakes Library, ate employee snacks and found a jar of honey — exactly 100 years after Winnie-the-Pooh was first published. Either coincidence is dead or Pooh’s marketing team deserves a raise. Geeking Out starts with Street Fighter, now the number one movie in America. Critics are calling it ridiculous, chaotic and overloaded, while fans seem to be responding with, “Yes. That’s Street Fighter.” Joe and Steph still haven’t seen it, naturally. GTA VI drops what looks like its final trailer ahead of the November 19 release, giving another look at Vice City, Jason, Lucia and the Florida insanity Rockstar has spent roughly 13 years cooking. Then there’s The Batman Part II, where Steven Soderbergh is temporarily helping finish production while Matt Reeves handles a family matter. Joe and Steph discuss whether two very different directors can keep the movie feeling seamless. Epic’s rumored Marvel x Star Wars game raises more eyebrows with reports that development is leaning heavily into AI-assisted workflows, including code and art. Steph reacts about as calmly as you’d expect. And then there’s Clayface. Early reactions say DC’s R-rated horror movie is disgusting in exactly the right way: melting bodies, unstable faces, gross transformations and full-on body horror. The Foos argue that this is exactly how DC should work — Superman can be hopeful, Lanterns can be detective noir, and Clayface can make you physically uncomfortable. Here’s What I Would Do brings two new dilemmas. Nicole from Anaheim thinks her friend is slowly copying her entire life — car, hair, restaurants and all — which naturally turns into predictions of identity theft and eventual woodland murder. Jason from Redlands somehow wins a free five-night Las Vegas trip and doesn’t want to go, prompting Steph to immediately volunteer as tribute. 406 Godzilla Popcorn Buckets, Church Raccoons, and Street Fighter Brain Damage

406 Godzilla Popcorn Buckets, Church Raccoons, and Street Fighter Brain Damage Doom Scrolling Intro What happens when a grown man hunts down a 22-inch Godzilla popcorn bucket from a random drive-in in Georgia, a raccoon walks into church looking suspiciously guilty, and Street Fighter trivia reveals that Blanka’s real name is just… Jimmy? Apparently, you get another episode of The Foobar Show. The Foos somehow return for a second week in a row, which officially qualifies as a streak. Joe celebrates by bragging about his greatest recent achievement: tracking down BOTH Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn buckets — including a gigantic 3D Godzilla that holds 85 ounces of popcorn and will absolutely never be used for popcorn. Then nature finds religion. A raccoon casually walks into a Catholic church in New York just before the Feast of St. Francis, apparently looking for either a blessing, forgiveness, or access to better trash cans. Geeking Out starts with the newest Godzilla Minus Zero trailer, which digs deeper into Noriko’s mysterious survival and gives everyone another excuse to theorize about King Ghidorah. Joe and Steph debate whether Minus Zero should bring in another kaiju at all — and naturally Anguirus gets nominated. Prime Video finally shows off Blade Runner 2099, starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer in a world where the replicants apparently won. That leads directly into wondering why Doug Brode’s Shelli series still hasn’t become a live-action detective series or anime. Xbox also launches XP, a new division built around turning its games into movies, television, merchandise, attractions, and basically anything else Microsoft can slap Halo, Fallout, Minecraft, Doom, or Gears of War onto. October viewing continues with The Foos rediscovering Tales from the Crypt on Tubi and realizing the “kids show” they remember contained significantly more murder, profanity, and boobs than expected. They also review the horror film Lockbox, giving it a solid recommendation for spooky season. Then it’s Street Fighter trivia, where Steph goes 7/10 on questions about Chun-Li, Guile, Shadaloo, Sagat, Akuma, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and the shocking revelation that Blanka’s human name is just… Jimmy. They also preview a Street Fighter takeover at Boba Bear in Rowland Heights featuring themed drinks, flasks, merch, and another extremely reasonable excuse to leave the house. Here’s What I Would Do tackles two problems: Matt from Pasadena gets invited to his ex-girlfriend’s wedding and wonders whether showing up with his current girlfriend is mature closure or open-bar psychological warfare. Eric from Riverside has a retired dad slowly relocating his entire garage into Eric’s house one tool, cable, speaker, and questionable antique level at a time. 405 Street Fighter Returns Cillian Murphy 28 Years Later Wildlife Gone Wrong

405 Street Fighter Returns Cillian Murphy 28 Years Later Wildlife Gone Wrong Doom Scrolling Intro After more than a month away, The Foos return. Joe briefly explains the hiatus and the loss of his mom before easing back into exactly what the show is supposed to be: stupid news, geek culture, games and questionable decisions. Nature helps with the transition thanks to the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards, featuring an orangutan flipping off the camera, a baby baboon that looks like it’s bench-pressing an adult, an aggressively violent squirrel, sneezing moose and more proof that animals are nowhere near as majestic as documentaries claim. Geeking Out starts with the new Street Fighter movie, arriving October 16 with an absolutely ridiculous cast: Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Roman Reigns as Akuma, 50 Cent as Balrog and Jason Momoa as Blanka. Plus, the Guile-hair popcorn bucket becomes Steph’s newest impossible collectible obsession. Then Cillian Murphy is coming back for more 28 Years Later, with Danny Boyle teasing a much bigger role for Jim in the next chapter. The Foos also debate the reported extended rerelease of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including cut Rosario Dawson material, and whether movie theaters are slowly becoming video games with downloadable content. PlayStation gets nerdier too, with Sony bringing AI-powered image upscaling to the regular PS5. That turns into Steph realizing her gaming laptop may finally be losing the battle against modern graphics requirements. Joe puts Steph through a 10-question Street Fighter trivia game, covering Chun-Li, Guile, Shadaloo, Blanka’s surprisingly normal human name, Sagat, Akuma, the original Street Fighter II and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Final score: 7/10. Steph also previews the upcoming horror sequel Lookie Lou Part 2 after hearing from filmmaker Joshua Harris, and The Foos start planning for LA Comic Con, running October 30 through November 1 with guests including Nicolas Cage, Hayden Christensen, Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Christopher Lloyd, Rosario Dawson, Billy West, Phil LaMarr and more. Here’s What I Would Do starts with a follow-up from Nate in San Clemente, who ultimately turned down $15,000 to attend his best friend’s wedding — and doesn’t regret it. Then Lauren from Long Beach wonders whether staying close with her ex-boyfriend’s parents is preventing everyone from fully moving on, while Derek from Monrovia discovers $7,000 hidden inside the walls of his house and has to decide whether the money belongs to him or the previous owner’s family. 404 Coyote vs Acme Lives, Wolverine Carnage, Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, Peter Cullen

404 Coyote vs Acme Lives Wolverine Carnage Dolly Parton Tim Curry Peter Cullen Doom Scrolling Intro The Foos are back after a night at The Glass House seeing Spineshank and (hed) p.e., complete with an aging-but-still-functioning mosh pit, brewery stops, stouts, cider, and late-night al pastor burritos. Then the fast-food nostalgia wars continue. The Hello Kitty x Godzilla McDonald’s collection is almost complete, Burger King is coming after millennials with Dragon Ball Super toys, Jack in the Box may have a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror takeover coming, and Krispy Kreme already got them with Pokémon. Apparently adults with disposable income are the new Happy Meal demographic. Before Geeking Out, Joe and Steph pay tribute to three icons lost this week: Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, and Peter Cullen. They look back at Dolly’s music, philanthropy and surprising Buffy connection; Tim Curry’s legendary roles from Rocky Horror and Clue to Pennywise; and Peter Cullen’s unmistakable Optimus Prime voice and the touching story behind how he created it. Geeking Out starts with Coyote vs. Acme finally making it into theaters after nearly becoming a tax write-off. The Foos revisit the bizarre road that nearly buried the completed Looney Tunes movie and why its survival became bigger than the movie itself. Then Marvel’s Wolverine turns the violence all the way up ahead of its PS5 release, with dismemberment, brutal combat and Logan behaving exactly like Wolverine should. EA’s long-missing Iron Man game also resurfaces after unfinished gameplay leaks online, finally proving the project still exists. Star Wars gets tactical with Zero Company, a turn-based Clone Wars-era game that Joe immediately compares to XCOM. Steph also dives into the newest extended look at GTA VI, including Vice City, Jason and Lucia, preorder bonuses and the question everyone still has: is this game actually going to release? They close Geeking Out with the sad news that Tippett Studio is shutting down after 35 years, marking the end of another major piece of practical-effects history tied to Star Wars, RoboCop, Starship Troopers and more. Plus, LA Comic Con costume planning begins with April O’Neil, Casey Jones and the increasingly dangerous possibility of Joe showing up as Raphael in a trench coat. Here’s What I Would Do brings two career dilemmas: Marcus in Pasadena finally lands his dream job, only to learn everyone he trusts says the company is miserable to work for. Anthony in El Monte faces something even heavier — his family expects him to take over the restaurant his grandparents started, but preserving the family legacy might mean giving up the career and life he actually wants. 403 Jimothy Rally Raccoon, Dave Bautista Kratos, Welcome to Derry, Godzilla Trivia

403 Jimothy Rally Raccoon Dave Bautista Kratos Welcome to Derry Godzilla Trivia Doom Scrolling Intro The Foos are back after Joe survives Just Like Heaven Festival, Steph narrowly avoids getting bitten at work, and somehow alcohol continues to qualify as hydration. Joe recaps seeing The Strokes, Chromeo, and Matt and Kim at the Rose Bowl, plus Guitar Center’s Drum-Off Finals at the Fonda with Bill Burr, John Stamos, Tré Cool, Brad Wilk, Alex González from Maná, and more. Then Seattle introduces the greatest sports mascot nobody asked for: Jimothy, a round neighborhood raccoon who became the Mariners’ unofficial rally animal. Scoreboard graphics turn into clubhouse shirts, ticket promotions, charity donations, and Jimothy entering the team’s salmon race because apparently baseball analytics have finally peaked. Geeking Out starts with Dave Bautista taking over as Kratos in Prime Video’s live-action God of War series. Then It: Welcome to Derry heads even further into the past for Season 2, jumping to the Great Depression and the Bradley Gang massacre while expanding Pennywise’s history. The Foos also get into the upcoming live-action Naruto, with Charles Melton reportedly circling Kakashi; Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider; and why Marvel should let Ghost Rider become an actual horror movie instead of another standard superhero flick. Podzilla returns for the Hello Kitty x Godzilla McDonald’s Happy Meal collection, including Hello Kitty as Godzilla, Keroppi as King Ghidorah, My Melody as Mothra, Kuromi as Mechagodzilla, and more. That naturally turns into a 15-question Godzilla trivia challenge where Joe discovers Godzilla can apparently fly and finishes with a spectacular 9/15. Pokémon gets in on the fast-food chaos too with Krispy Kreme’s 30th anniversary doughnuts featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, and collectible cups. Here’s What I Would Do begins with an update from Andrea in La Habra after her ancestry test revealed a secret half-sister — and yes, the family tree officially exploded. Then Nate from San Clemente gets offered $15,000 to skip his best friend’s Cabo wedding, while Eddie from Redondo Beach discovers his wife’s definition of vacation involves spreadsheets, reservations, and an alarming phrase: “8:15 AM leisurely breakfast.” Chapters Doom Scrolling Intro Just Like Heaven Festival + The Strokes Guitar Center Drum-Off Finals + Bill Burr Jimothy the Seattle Mariners rally raccoon Geeking Out Dave Bautista as Kratos Welcome to Derry Season 2 Great Depression Live-action Naruto + Kakashi casting Ryan Gosling Ghost Rider Podzilla Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meals Godzilla Trivia Joe scores 9 out of 15 Krispy Kreme Pokémon doughnuts Here’s What I Would Do Ancestry test follow-up $15,000 to skip a best friend’s wedding Vacation spreadsheet vs doing absolutely nothing Outro + Doom Scrolling Outro Jimothy raccoon, Seattle Mariners, Dave Bautista Kratos, God of War series, Welcome to Derry Season 2, Pennywise, Naruto live action, Charles Melton Kakashi, Ryan Gosling Ghost Rider, Hello Kitty Godzilla, Godzilla trivia, Pokemon Krispy Kreme, ancestry DNA surprise, The Foobar Show
