    Welcome to Kitaab Ghar – your window to some of the finest Hindi books. दस्तकारी की बलंदी को कोई क्या जाने हाथ के फ़न से ही आबाद हुए वीराने रेशमी कपड़ों से ये शहर है मशहूर-ए-जहाँ लोग बुनते हैं उसी ख्वाब के ताने बाने ये बनारस के हसीं घाट ये दिलकश मंज़र यूं तो बनारस पर बहुत किताबें हैं लेकिन अब्दुल बिस्मिल्लाह का उपन्यास “झीनी झीनी बीनी चदरिया” बनारस के एक बहुत ही अनछुए पहलू पर बात करता है – वहाँ के बुनकर, और शायद इसीलिए इसका शीर्षक कबीर की पंक्तियों से लिया गया है जो स्वयं एक जुलाहे (बुनकर) थे। जहाँ बनारस पर बहुत किताबें घाटों मंदिरों की बात करती हैं, यहाँ लेखक एक रोचक कहानी को लिए बनारस की गलियों, बस्तियों, मोहल्लों से लिए चलते हैं, आपको उनके उत्सव त्योहारों का हिस्सा बनाते हुए, साथ ही उनके कष्टों और शोक में भागी बनाते हुए। बुनकरों की दुनिया का एक बेहद जीवंत चित्रण, और क्योंकि बुनकरों में मुस्लिम समुदाय की बहुलता है, तो एक लेंस उनके रीति रिवाजों में भी झाँकता चलता है। साथ ही बात होती है बनारसी साड़ी के इतिहास व्यापार की, बिल्कुल उसी बारीकी से, जिस बारीकी से ये बुनकर दिन रात एक करके इस साड़ी में जादू की टाँके लगाते हैं। और एक सारी व्यवस्था जिसमें गरीब बुनकर दब कर ही रह जाते हैं लेकिन उस संघर्ष में भी जीवन जीना नहीं छोड़ते और ये किताब जीवंत करती है उनकी शादियों को, आपसी रिश्तों को, खान पान और कितनी ही अनूठी परम्पराएं, साथ ही बुनकरी से जुड़े ढेरों शब्दों से पाठक का परिचय करवाती है। यदि आप भी बनारस के इस अनजान अनछुए दृश्य की झलक चाहते हैं तो अवश्य पढ़िये। There are more books about Banaras than one can count and a lot of them focus on its ghats and temples. But Abdul Bismillah’s “Jhini Jhini Bini Chadariya”, named after a famous verse by the weaver-poet Kabir, takes us into a completely different world: the lives of the city's weavers aka ‘Bunkar’, the community that brings your favorite Banarasi Sari. Instead of the Banaras’s famed riverfront, the author takes us through the narrow lanes and neighborhoods where these artisans live. It is an authentic look into the Bunkar community and Muslims as they make up most of Bunkars, sharing their unique traditions, everyday language, festive joys, and deep sorrows. At its core, the book honors the incredible patience and skill of these weavers, who work day and night to create the magic of the Banarasi sari. Even though they are trapped in a harsh system that keeps them poor, their spirit isn't broken. The story beautifully captures their resilience, their relationships, and how they find moments of life, joy and celebration amidst the struggle. If you want to experience a deeper, unseen side of Banaras, this is a highly recommended book. The author’s sharp wit and biting satire elevate the narrative, offering a unique perspective on society, history, and the human condition. किताब घर में आज की किताब ‘काशी का अस्सी’ काशीनाथ सिंह लिखित उपन्यास है जिसे एक तरह से संस्मरण भी कह सकते हैं। इसमें उन्होंने बनारस के अस्सी घाट के बारे में लिखा है। इस किताब में लेखक आम बोलचाल की भाषा को एक अलग ही स्तर पर ले जाते हैं, जो गली-नुक्कड़ में कही-सुनी जाने वाली हर तरह की शुद्ध-अशुद्ध गालियों से भरपूर है। मजे की बात है यह कि इन तथाकथित गाली गलौज भरी भाषा से कथानक को शक्ति ही मिलती है, अश्लीलता नहीं। जहाँ काशी एक ओर अध्यात्म और धर्म की नगरी है, वहीं ये किताब इसके अल्हड़पन भरे जीवन की भी बात करती है, जैसे अस्सी घाट पर चौपाल जमी हो और लेखक वहीं कहीं कोने में बैठकर लिख रहे हों, या शायद उस गपशप का हिस्सा ही हों। और गपशप भी ऐसी की वहाँ बैठे बैठे देश और दुनिया की राजनीति तय हो जाए! कैसा रहा होगा 80-90 के दशक का काशी, उसका अस्सी घाट, आस पड़ोस के मोहल्ले और मोहल्ले में रहने वाले लोग, और साथ ही साथ देश के राजनीतिक हालात। भाषा सरल है, जन-मानस वाली हिंदी के साथ कहीं-कहीं भोजपुरी भी मिश्रित है। जहाँ इस किताब में कई एक-दूसरे से जुड़ी कहानियाँ चलती हैं, वहीं समाज का दर्पण, इतिहास, राजनीति, कटाक्ष और व्यंग्य भी साथ चलते हैं। किताब का आखिरी हिस्सा तो इसकी पराकाष्ठा है – जहाँ व्यंग्य और कटाक्ष पाठक को अलग ही जगह ले जाते हैं!
