    Franz Jedlicka bezieht sich in dieser Episode (wie auch in seinem jüngsten Researchgate Artikel) auf bell hooks, die mehrmals forderte, dass der Feminismus ALLE Formen der Gewalt bekämpfen müsse, auch die Gewalt gegen Kinder. Jedlicka erinnert daran, dass die skandinavischen Länder die ersten waren, die die Gewalt in der Kindererziehung verboten haben, und identifiziert anhand der historischen Kindheitsforschung einen Mangel an Empathie als Hauptursache des Patriarchats.

    A new History of Patriarchy. By Franz Jedlicka

    In this episode, Austrian peace researcher Franz Jedlicka argues that the history of patriarchy is closely linked to the history of childhood, as described by Lloyd deMause. Thus he identifies the root cause of patriarchy in a lack of empathy and describes the historical emergence of empathetic societies by pointing to the fact, that the Scandinavian countries were the first to ban corporal punishment (as recommended years later by bell hooks).
