112 - What to Do the First 3 Days Back from Vacation (So You Don't Spiral)

If you've ever walked back through your front door after a trip, bags still in hand, and immediately felt the weight of everything waiting for you, this episode is for you.   We're talking about the re-entry. That moment when real life comes rushing back in and all those good feelings from your time away evaporate faster than you can say vacation. The laundry, the emails, the groceries, the projects you left half-finished. And that voice in your head saying I'm so behind.   I don't want that for you. And honestly? Jumping straight back in isn't just hard - it's less effective too.   In this episode, I'm sharing the simple stair-step approach I use with my clients so that coming home from vacation, a work trip, or any time away doesn't feel like a cold plunge. Think of it less like snapping back to normal, and more like walking up a staircase one step at a time, at a pace your mind and body can actually handle.   If you've ever found yourself dreading time off because of how overwhelming the re-entry feels, this one's going to shift something for you.     ==========================   🔗 Links & Resources:   ==========================    Learn more and apply for a 1:1 coaching spot   ==========================   📲 Stay Connected!   ==========================   💌 Join my email list for weekly coaching tips & other resources ➡️ Subscribe to Working Mom Wednesday newsletter 📸 Follow me on Instagram for working mom inspo ➡️https://www.instagram.com/lovemothernurture/ 🤝 Connect with me on LinkedIn ➡️https://www.linkedin.com/in/katelyndenning/   New episodes drop every Tuesday! Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an episode.   And if this episode made you rethink about how you balance work and life as a working mom, send it to a friend!

111 - 3 Small Changes That Could Make This Your Best Summer Yet

Summer is here and if you're a working mom, you already know the tension. Your schedule doesn't change, but everything else does. The kids are home, the routine is gone, and somehow, it's August before you've done a single thing you actually wanted to do this season.   In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on three new systems I'm personally testing with my family this summer, not because I have it all figured out, but because I got tired of summers that felt chaotic, screen-time battles I was losing daily, and kids who forgot how to be helpful the moment school let out.   I'm sharing exactly what we're trying: themed after-camp evenings so nobody's asking "what do we do?" (including me), a once-and-done approach to screen time rules that I'm hoping will save my sanity, and a simple daily practice plus weekly chore system designed to keep the summer vibes and make some actual progress.   Take what resonates, leave what doesn't, and maybe find one idea worth trying in your own home this summer.   ==========================   🔗 Links & Resources:   ==========================   Check out @annadkornick on IG   Follow @everydayreading on IG   Apply for one of 2 open summer coaching spots!   ==========================   📲 Stay Connected!   ==========================   💌 Join my email list for weekly coaching tips & other resources ➡️ Subscribe to The Working Mom Journal 📸 Follow me on Instagram for working mom inspo ➡️https://www.instagram.com/lovemothernurture/ 🤝 Connect with me on LinkedIn ➡️https://www.linkedin.com/in/katelyndenning/   New episodes drop every Tuesday! Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an episode.   And if this episode made you rethink about how you balance work and life as a working mom, send it to a friend!

110 - When Life Forces the Pivot: Cancer, COVID, and Starting Over

Rachel Greiman has done a lot of things - photojournalism, family photography, copywriting, and now? She owns a fragrance boutique in Denver called Ode. And no, none of that was planned.   In this episode, I'm sitting down with one of my favorite internet friends to talk about what it actually looks like to blow up a successful business and start something completely new in the middle of absolute chaos. We're talking COVID with a newborn, her son's leukemia diagnosis, two-plus years of treatment, and somehow, on the other side of all of it, opening a brick-and-mortar shop.   What I love most about this conversation is that Rachel isn't selling you a highlight reel. She talks honestly about ADHD as a superpower and a liability, the intellectual guilt of being a working mom, why she stopped waiting to call herself an expert, and the mantra that changed how she approaches every new venture.   Whether you've been sitting on a big idea or you're just trying to figure out how to stop white-knuckling every decision, there's something for you in this episode. 109 - Email Is Eating Your Day. Here's How to Take It Back

I'll be honest with you... my inbox is a mess. Between my personal and business email, I've completely let things slide, and it even cost me a registration deadline for my daughter's gymnastics class. So, this month, I'm doing a full reset, and I'm bringing you along for the ride.   In this episode, I'm walking you through the exact email management philosophy I swear by (even when I'm not following it), my step-by-step process for sorting through thousands of emails without losing my mind, and most importantly, what actually went wrong the last time I had things under control. Because getting organized is one thing. Staying that way is where most of us fall apart.   If you've ever done a big inbox cleanout only to find yourself right back where you started a few months later, this episode is for you. We're talking batching, folder systems, the difference between sorting and processing your email, and why assuming it will "just happen" is exactly why it doesn't.   ==========================   🔗 Links & Resources:   ==========================   Episode 48: How I Finally Tackled My Cluttered Inbox (and what changed)   Follow my email journey on Instagram   Uptime: A Personal Guide to Productivity and Wellbeing by Laura Mae Martin   Download the Ultimate Guide to Getting Things Done   Joining the email challenge? 108 - Why You Hate Meal Planning (And How to Finally Fix It)

If "what's for dinner?" sends you into a spiral at 5pm, this episode is for you.   Meal planning comes up almost every single week in my sessions with clients — and I don't think that's a coincidence. We are all stretched thin, running on decision fatigue, and desperately wishing someone else would just tell us what to eat. In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly how I approach meal planning (with my clients and in my own home), and I promise it's simpler than you're making it.   I'll walk you through where to start, how to build your family's go-to meal list, and how to create a system that actually holds up when life gets busy. Whether you've never meal planned before, you've tried and it always falls apart, or life has changed and your old system no longer fits, you'll learn something in this episode.   ==========================   🔗 Links & Resources:   ==========================    Apply to learn more about Coaching with Katelyn (only 2 spots available)    ==========================   📲 Stay Connected!

107 - How to Reconnect with Your Partner Without Turning Them into a Project

You're great at planning the things that matter. The calendar, the meals, the kids' activities. So why does your relationship keep getting whatever time is left over, which is usually none?   In this episode, we're tackling a question that comes up often in coaching: Is it okay to set a goal around my marriage? If the idea of being intentional about your relationship feels weirdly clinical, or you're worried about turning your partnership into a project, this one's for you.   You'll hear why wanting to reconnect isn't a sign something is broken, why scheduling connection time isn't unromantic (it's just realistic), and how to think about your relationship the same way you'd think about carving out one-on-one time with your kids: with intention, not perfection.   ==========================   🔗 Links & Resources:   ==========================    Episode 106 - The Mental Load: Why Your Brain Won't Turn Off at Night   Sex Talks: The Five Conversations That Will Transform Your Love Life   1:1 Coaching with Katelyn   ==========================   📲 Stay Connected!   ==========================   💌 Join my email list for weekly coaching tips & other resources ➡️ Subscribe to The Working Mom Journal newsletter 📸 Follow me on Instagram for working mom inspo ➡️https://www.instagram.com/lovemothernurture/ 🤝 Connect with me on LinkedIn ➡️https://www.linkedin.com/in/katelyndenning/   New episodes drop every Tuesday! Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an episode.   And if this episode made you rethink about how you balance work and life as a working mom, send it to a friend!

106 - The Mental Load: Why Your Brain Won't Turn Off at Night

You've heard the term "mental load". You've seen it in funny memes on social media. But in this episode, we go beyond the definition and get into what the mental load is actually costing you: your cognitive bandwidth, your patience, and your presence at the dinner table. You'll hear why carrying the mental load isn't proof that you care more or that you're more capable; it's proof that your system is unbalanced. And systems can be redesigned. Plus, you'll walk away with one concrete place to start: a 10-minute brain dump exercise that makes the invisible visible to you, and to the people in your home who need to see it too.   This is the work I do with my clients, using the Fair Play method. If you're ready to make changes and share more of the mental load, I have three 1:1 coaching spots opening in May and June.
