Pono Pau: More Than a Fighter | SlapSon Ep. 205

Pono Pau is back on SlapSon — and this conversation goes far beyond the podium. Ahead of his return at Power Slap 24 on October 9, “The Hawaiian Assassin” joins Joe Scott to talk about what went wrong against Johnny Magna, preparing for an opponent with zero Power Slap experience, and why this fight is about getting back to one thing: performing. Pono also gets candid about the biggest lesson Power Slap has taught him — patience — and how faith, family, pressure, overextending himself for others, and learning to “fortify” his mind have changed the way he approaches both competition and life. From helping develop other Power Slap strikers to realizing he needed to become a student again himself, this is a different side of Pono Pau. Austin “Turp Daddy Slim” Turpin: WHO WANTS IT NEXT? | SlapSon Ep. 204

Austin “Turp Daddy Slim” Turpin is back on SlapSon—and he’s got plenty to say after his latest Power Slap win. Turp opens up about the bad blood with Wes, where trash talk crosses the line, the bet that apparently never got paid, and exactly who he wants across the podium next. Chris Barnett, Johnny Manfre, Brandon Rhodes and the rest of the division? Turp isn’t exactly short on options. But there’s another side to this conversation. Austin talks about making over $100K in his first year with Power Slap, walking away from his job to chase the opportunity, spending more time with his family, quitting weed, and recommitting himself completely to the sport. One minute he’s talking about changing his life. The next he’s telling us the mosquitoes hit harder than Wes. That’s Turp Daddy. 😂 🥃 SlapSon — A Couple of Drinks Sports Podcast Subscribe for more conversations with the biggest personalities in Power Slap, combat sports and beyond. #SlapSon #CoupleOfDrinksSports #PowerSlap #AustinTurpin #TurpDaddySlim
