Welcome to I’ll Bring You Flowers with me, Sophie Cullumbine, wedding florist, bright frock, big earring, chatterbox. This new project was born out of the love of chatting to people who inspired me through lockdown, when I would sit and natter to others on a Friday night with a bottle of wine, on Instagram live. It was the most fun and I learnt SO much about these folk, from all walks of life. So I decided to turn it into a podcast! This week, I'm joined by the wonderful Hannah Brook of Hannah Brook Photography — a documentary wedding photographer based in North Yorkshire who I met (and has since climbed Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis with!) on the Fay Cornhill Reconnect Retreat. Hannah has been shooting weddings for nearly nine years, and in this episode she pulls back the curtain on what it's really like behind the camera. We dive into the biggest photography trends right now — from direct flash and Dutch tilts to moody desaturated edits and the infamous "Sepia Bride" TikTok drama — and Hannah shares why she stays true to her own colourful, documentary style no matter what's in fashion.
