John 6 Pt 2 - Jesus is the Bread of Life with Daniel Moore - 54

Send us Fan Mail Some of the most revealing moments in the Gospels happen right after a miracle. In John 6, the crowd goes looking for Jesus again, but he tells them the part we all want to edit out: they are not chasing him because they saw the sign; they are chasing him because they got fed. That one confrontation opens up a bigger conversation about motivation, discipleship, and what it really means to seek God when life gets hard. We unpack Jesus’ teaching on the Bread of Life and why he refuses to be reduced to a quick fix for our temporary needs. We talk about the difference between seeking God’s hand and seeking God’s face, why seasons of lack do not cancel God’s goodness, and how pride shows up when we try to handle problems on our own before we pray. Then we linger on the shockingly simple invitation Jesus gives the crowd: “This is the work of God, that you believe.” Not hustle religion. Not spiritual scorekeeping. Belief. From there, we connect manna, covenant, and communion, and we slow down to treat the Lord’s Supper as something sacred rather than routine. We also wrestle with the hard truth that Jesus’ words can offend, and that truth can thin a crowd. When many walk away, Peter stays with a line that still steadies believers today: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” If you want deeper Bible study, Christian encouragement, and practical faith that lasts beyond the mountaintop, listen, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show. John 6 Pt 1 - Jesus is the God of Signs and Wonders with Daniel Moore - 53

Send us Fan Mail A familiar Bible story can still confront us when we stop skimming and start listening for what John is really showing us. We open John chapter 6 with the Feeding of the 5,000 and ask the uncomfortable question: when pressure hits, do we trust Jesus as our provider, or do we instantly start doing anxious math like Philip? John tells us this miracle happens near Passover, and that detail matters. The same God who provided manna in the wilderness stands on the hillside, ready to show that His provision isn't limited by our calculations, our bank accounts, or what feels “too small” in our hands. Kim and Daniel talk through what it means that a boy offers five barley loaves and two fish, food tied to poverty and scarcity, and how Jesus receives it, gives thanks, and multiplies it until thousands are satisfied. We connect that to everyday discipleship: giving God our time, talents, resources, and “not much,” then watching Him do what we cannot. We also dig into why Jesus tells the disciples to gather the leftovers, and why the twelve baskets point to abundance, completeness, and a lesson the disciples literally carry away. Then the scene shifts from a hillside to a storm. The disciples are rowing in darkness when they see Jesus walking on the water, and His first words cut through panic: “It is I. Do not be afraid.” We talk about storms in real life, why peace cannot be found outside of Jesus, and how John’s “It is I” echoes the I AM of Scripture. If you’re facing fear, uncertainty, or lack, let this conversation pull your focus back to Christ's presence. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a five-star review so more people can find the John Bible study series. Suicide Prevention with Keli Keener and Daphne HillHouse

Send us Fan Mail Someone says, “I don’t know why I’m here,” and the room goes quiet. Do you change the subject, offer a quick Bible verse, or lean in and ask the question that could save a life? This week we talk with clinical social workers Keli Keener and Daphne Hillhouse about suicide awareness and suicide prevention with real-world, doable steps for friends, families, and churches. We break down why 988 matters, how it works as a 24/7 starting point for support, and how veterans can dial 988 and press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line and connect with VA follow-up in their area. Daphne also explains what the VA does beyond crisis response, including dedicated suicide prevention teams, outreach, training, and screening tools like the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale. Then we bring it home to everyday relationships. If you hear hopeless statements, you do not have to diagnose anything to respond well. We talk about taking every comment seriously, how loneliness and isolation raise risk, and why simple connection can be a powerful protective factor. Keli shares why churches should pursue suicide prevention training for leaders and members, plus practical ways to partner with community mental health centers, NAMI, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention events. We also address the painful reality of suicide loss. Supporting survivors means showing up after the first week, speaking the loved one’s name, and handling memorials with care instead of silence. Beth also tells the story behind launching Miss Beth Ministries and partnering with “Scruffy” to bring the gospel to life through humor, science experiments, and creative Bible teaching. John 5 - Jesus is the Healer and Righteous Judge with Amanda and Tom Perry - 51

Send us Fan Mail A man lies helpless for 38 years, surrounded by crowds and “almost” moments, and Jesus walks straight to him with a question that cuts through every excuse: Do you want to get well? We sit in John 5 at the pool of Bethesda and talk about what it means when our pain becomes familiar, when disappointment turns into identity, and when we quietly settle into a life that looks permanent.  Tom and Amanda Perry join us for a Scripture-rich conversation about mercy, obedience, and the shocking simplicity of Jesus’ command: get up, pick up your mat, and walk. We unpack why the mat matters, how it can become a visible testimony of freedom, and why some people will always focus on rule keeping instead of rejoicing over healing. If you’ve ever felt trapped by legalism, burned out by performance, or tempted to judge others from a distance, this will challenge you in the best way.  We also move deeper into Jesus’ teaching about life through the Son and the testimonies that point to Him, including the danger of studying the Bible without truly knowing the Father. You’ll hear practical wisdom on identity in Christ, the difference between conviction and condemnation, and how applying God’s Word is what turns head knowledge into living faith.  Subscribe for the rest of our John series, share this with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review on Apple Podcasts so more people can find the show. John 4 - Jesus is the Living Water with Katie Marsh and Julie Gariss - 50

Send us Fan Mail A tired Jesus sits by a well at noon and starts a conversation no respectable rabbi is supposed to have. That single choice exposes how the Kingdom works: Jesus goes looking for the person everyone else avoids, and he does it with truth, tenderness, and zero fear of crossing man-made lines. We welcome back Julie Garris and Katie Marsh as we walk through John chapter 4 and the Samaritan woman story verse by verse. We talk about the real history behind the Jewish and Samaritan hostility, why her noon-time water trip hints at deep shame, and why Jesus’ words “If you knew the gift of God” still confront our spiritual blindness today. You will hear us wrestle honestly with what “living water” means when life feels empty, and how Jesus can name sin without shaming the sinner. Then the conversation turns to worship in spirit and truth. Is it a place, a style, a mood, a heart posture, or something even bigger? We explore how worship shifts from a mountain or temple to a Person, and what it looks like to live a life of reverence and obedience when no one is watching. We close with the woman’s simple “Come and see” testimony, the harvest it sparks, and the royal official’s faith that trusts Jesus’ word for healing from miles away, plus a reminder that God still answers urgent prayers in everyday life. Healing a Broken Parent/Child Relationship with Alex Willis - 49

Send us Fan Mail The people who look “fine” can be the ones hurting in silence, and sometimes the damage happens while we’re busy doing good things. This week, Kim is joined by her daughter, Alex Willis, for a candid, hope-filled conversation about healing a mother-daughter relationship after years of misaligned priorities, misunderstandings, and unspoken needs. We talk about what it felt like for her as an only child in a small church when Kim's time and attention were often pulled toward youth ministry and other people’s crises, and how that slowly taught her to minimize her own pain. Alex shares how motherhood brought old wounds to the surface, why their simple “Monday time” became a turning point, and what it takes to rebuild trust when you can’t redo the past. They get practical about Christian parenting and family discipleship: noticing emotional needs even when there are no red flags, creating margin, and remembering that ministry and service can never replace presence at home. They also talk about the courage it takes for adult children to speak up, and why apologies matter more than defensiveness. They close by acknowledging listeners carrying real childhood trauma and complicated family histories. Not every relationship is safe to continue, but forgiveness and healing are still possible, and we pray directly for comfort, protection, and restoration. If you care about healing broken relationships, balancing church leadership with family, and learning how prayer can repair what feels fractured, listen now, share with someone you love, and please subscribe and leave a review so more hearts can find hope. John 3 - You Must Be Born Again with Daniel Moore - 48

Send us Fan Mail Special guest Daniel Moore joins us this week as we walk through John 3. Nicodemus shows up with status, influence, and Bible knowledge, and Jesus responds with a single, disruptive truth: you must be born again. That moment in John 3 is a mirror for anyone who has ever leaned on religious effort, church habits, or “being a good person” and still felt the ache that something is missing. We talk through why Nicodemus comes at night, what Jesus is really saying about new birth, and how the Holy Spirit brings an inward transformation that no amount of external performance can produce.  We also dig into the meaning of being born of water and the Spirit and why Jesus compares the Spirit’s work to the wind. Along the way, we get practical about spiritual growth and discipleship: prayer, time in God’s Word, worship, and real fellowship with believers who pursue Jesus. If you feel stuck, we name common barriers like unforgiveness and unconfessed sin and why repeated surrender is often part of real maturity, not a reason for shame.  Then we slow down for John 3:16-21, not as a slogan, but as the heart of the gospel: God’s sacrificial love for a fallen world, belief as active trust and submission, and Jesus as rescue from a condemnation the world is already under. We close with John the Baptist’s humility in John 3:22-36, where jealousy fades, and joy takes its place: “He must increase, and I must decrease.” If you’ve been asking what to do with Jesus, this conversation will press that question all the way to the center. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review so more people can find the truth of God’s Word.
