    Forked Path: Dr. Joanna Kujawa on UFOs, AI, and the power of ascension

    Are what we witness as UFOs and UAP, including both plasmid orbs and metallic craft, the vanguard of two opposing futures vying for manifestation? In this interview, Dr. Joanna Kujawa discusses her new book, “Alien Goddess: UFOs, AI, and the Goddess of Ascension,” which uses Jungian archetypes, ancient myth, gnostic tradition, and much else to present a compelling analysis of this moment in human history. We may be faced with a choice. Do we abandon our traditions of spiritual development to instead create a new kind of ascension through radical technological deployment and artificial intelligence? How does this looming choice relate to the gnostic ideas of the divine feminine, archontic powers, the demiurge, and material reality? Kujawa argues passionately for humanity to back away from the technological development that she believes is truncating our spiritual potential and rendering us as commodified livestock for a rabid attention economy.  Deploying ancient myths like Inanna, Demeter/Persephone, and Pistis Sophia, she demonstrates how the archetypal spiritual journey of descent and ascent are as available now as they’ve ever been, encoded as they are in these traditions. She also outlines four levels of consciousness from esoteric traditions, with the third level (liminal/imaginal space) being crucial for experiencing anomalous phenomena and spiritual awakening. She contrasts this third tier with the materialistic first level that dominates modern AI development, and therefore threatens to pervert our potential.  Individuals, she argues, can choose evolution over control through personal spiritual practice and curiosity about the miraculous, even as powerful and celebrated technological gurus and oligarchs are operating from lower levels of consciousness focused on manipulation.     Medical emergency: Denied health effects and poor planning are the real threat from UFOs

    In this interview, I sit down with John Priestman, chairman of the nonprofit organization uNHIdden, to explore how the biggest threat from UFOs so far is the denial of deleterious health impacts from contact and poor planning around disclosure.  Unaddressed, these issues could make future UFO revelations catastrophically destabilizing, which means more lives and money lost.  UNHIdden researches the physical and psychological impacts of UAP phenomena, and lobbies for governments and other institutions to take the issue seriously, and to treat experiencer patients with care and respect.     We discussed uNHIdden's three published white papers, including one that presents a preparedness plan for potential post-disclosure mental health crises. Priestland outlines the plan's public health framework, which includes building what he calls "meaning resilience" through the creation of structured conversation groups. He also advocates for the recruitment of trusted voices to help desensitize the public.     On this episode, I sit down with author, speaker, and spiritual practitioner Matt Zemon to discuss how psychedelic mushrooms are becoming a sacrament to reconnect people with their spiritual nature, a method to break free from the egoic mind and find holistic perspective. Matt Zemon is executive director of the Council on Spiritual Practices, an organization that for over three decades has been dedicated to making experiences of the sacred more available to more people. He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Pacific School of Religion, specializing in psychedelics in religious practice, and a Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King's College London. The author of six books on psychedelics, religion, and healing, most recently “Ordinary Mystics: Psychedelics, Faith, and the Reclaiming of Direct Spiritual Experience,” he serves an entheogenic faith community and understands direct spiritual experience to be rooted in religious tradition and protected under existing law.     An alien other? Kimberly Engels on the phenomenology of contact

    On this episode, I sit down with Kimberly Engels, associate professor of philosophy at Molloy University and research director of the John Mack Institute, to discuss her book, "Contact and Multidimensional Subjectivity: Toward a Phenomenology of Disclosure."  The conversation focuses on Engels' approach to studying UFO experiencers through phenomenological methods, examining how these encounters transform participants' sense of self, reality, and ethics.  We discuss the concept of "partial witnessing" as a form of epistemic harm, where experiencers' testimonies are reduced to fit pre-existing worldviews rather than being taken seriously in their full complexity.  Engels outlines how a multi-dimensional “new” ethics is emerging from contact experiences that includes everything now existing on this planet, as well as an interspecies relationality. This development suggests rather strongly that humanity is undergoing a transformation in how we understand our place in a more-than-human universe.  The discussion also touches on the debate between traditional human rights approaches to contact and a post-anthropocentric perspective that acknowledges the epistemic advantages of non-human intelligences.     Legislative disclosure? Kirk McConnell on the plight of UFOs in Congress

    In this episode, I interview one of the premier experts and advocates on the subjects of UAP disclosure, legislative remedies, government secrecy, and whistleblower safety to analyze recent “progress” in the disclosure movement and parse political theater from true reform.  Kirk McConnell is a former long-time congressional staffer who served 37 years for the Senate Armed Services Committee and both the House and Senate intel committees.  McConnell here describes how he got pulled into the UAP discussion, and how the subject propelled his transition from being a materialist reductionist to embracing many of the startling ontological consequences that emerge from taking UFOs seriously.   He’s since become a vocal advocate for the disclosure of UFO information to the public, and has partnered with several reform-minded organizations to achieve that end.  We explore current legislative developments, including the House of Representatives’ recent passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for the upcoming year, a massive annual; bill that now includes the UAP Disclosure Act. This historic legislation would take several dramatic steps toward dismantling the so-called truth embargo.  McConnell then shares his cautious prognosis for success this year. We consider President Donald Trump's recent announcement of whistleblower protections, as well as his establishment of a UAP science committee, headed up by Harvard astronomer  Avi Loeb. McConnell explains how these initiatives overlap with and differ from congressional efforts in the UAPDA. Is one meant to undermine the other? The conversation also breaks down the impact of jurisdictional conflicts, across multiple legislative committees, on efforts to pass the UAPDA, as well as the historical context for government secrecy around UAP.     Downloads and mind talk: Neuroscientist Marina Weiler on OBEs, NDEs, telepathy, and the brain

    In this episode, I sit down with Marina Weiler, a neuroscientist and consciousness researcher from the University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS), to discuss her work on anomalous experiences and consciousness phenomena. We explore her study of out-of-body and near-death experiences, as well as her research into the telepathic capabilities of non-speaking autists. Weiler describes several instances in her work that challenge the reflexive rejection of such phenomena by mainstream science, including veridical reports from experiencers. We also explore the nature of consciousness, how it relates to bedrock reality, and how scientists like Weiler have long had downloads that help propel their best research.     Mystery makes meaning: Greg Bishop and Josh Cutchin on the transformational power of the UFO enigma

    On this episode, I sit down with Greg Bishop and Joshua Cutchin to discuss the UFO phenomenon, non-human intelligence, and the tendency of these subjects to have a great psychic impact on researchers and percipients. Cutchin is an author, folklorist and musician whose work in recent years has earned great acclaim for its insight, breadth, and power. Bishop is a researcher, podcaster, and art historian. His book, Project Beta, is considered one of the foundational texts on the power of government influence around UFOs to wreck lives and sow confusion. We discuss their perspectives on the current moment in ufology, whether government information is to be believed, then pivot to how witnessing a UFO can change lives and seems to represent a fundamental linkage between psyche and cosmos.  We explore how different phenomena get brought together for analysis and discussion, and the risk that methodology poses for narrative flattening and category collapse.  Bishop in particular argues that each researcher should engage with the material to find their own meaningful way through, and resist the urge to find their own right answer. Given the complexity of the phenomenon, such definitive solutions are often traps.
