    The Lost Boys (1987)

    Today we discuss Joel Schumacher's comedy-horror cult classic, The Lost Boys. In the film, teenage brothers Sam and Michael move to the fictional town of Santa Carla, California with their mom and slowly find out that it is a home to a gang of vampires who seek to grow their "family." Inspiring future synthwave artists and rock bands with its sleek soundtrack, this is truly considered to be the "rockstar" of vampire films.     The Burning (1981)

    This week we kick off our Summerween Spectacular with The Burning. Released in 1981, and often compared to Friday the 13th,  this summer slasher takes place in upstate New York where an abusive camp caretaker named Cropsy is horribly burned from a prank gone wrong at Camp Blackfoot. Five years later, he returns to Camp Stonewater with garden shears, seeking revenge on those responsible for his disfigurement.
