Franklin and Douglas Ep 115 | Kelly Clarkson vs. a Brooklyn Shop… Over a Bird?!

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down current events, celebrity drama, trending news, and bizarre headlines with humor, opinions, and our signature Bad Advice! This week, we’re talking about Kelly Clarkson and the viral controversy involving a Brooklyn shop, Art of Play, and a mechanical singing bird reportedly valued at $15,000. What started as a shopping trip turned into a full-blown social media feud. Kelly Clarkson says she felt judged and treated as though she couldn’t afford the unusual bird, while the store says the one-of-a-kind singing and dancing automaton, known as Molly, was not for sale and that there was a misunderstanding. Security footage has since surfaced, but without audio, the exact conversation remains unclear. We share our thoughts on the Kelly Clarkson controversy, celebrity drama, customer service, small business reputation, viral internet stories, and what happens when a public complaint sends social media into a frenzy. Was this a case of bad customer service, a misunderstanding, or a situation that got way out of hand? Then we wrap things up with our signature Bad Advice, because no episode of Franklin and Douglas would be complete without questionable opinions and entertaining commentary! #FranklinAndDouglas #CurrentEvents #CurrentEventsPodcast #BadAdvice #KellyClarkson #CelebrityNews #CelebrityDrama #ArtOfPlay #MechanicalBird #MollyTheBird #BrooklynNews #ViralNews #TrendingNews #WeirdNews #FunnyPodcast #NewsCommentary #SocialMediaDrama #PopCulture #EntertainmentNews#redditstories #aitah Subscribe and Listen to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast Here:  ▶YT: @FranklinandDouglasPod ▶Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/franklin-and-douglas-|-current-events-and-bad-advice/id1762544121 ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0TfbhzggvyLJedvwcJ0Zdv?si=b17befa4fd294a9b  Connect With Us: 🌐Website: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2394567 🎬TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@franklinanddouglaspod 📸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/franklindouglaspod/ Need Advice? - Ask us a question in the comments and we may choose your question to respond on a future episode! Franklin and Douglas Ep 114 | A Mysterious Death, Plague Fears & Bioweapon Speculation

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down current events, strange headlines, mysterious stories, and the news that makes you ask, “What the hell is really going on?” This week, we're investigating the mysterious death of a Russian laboratory worker connected to a research institute specializing in dangerous infectious diseases.   Darya Shipilova, a 28-year-old researcher in Siberia, died after developing severe pneumonia. Because she worked at an anti-plague research institute, questions quickly emerged about a possible plague infection, laboratory exposure, and whether something more serious could have happened behind closed doors.   We explore the reported circumstances surrounding her death, the public health response, Russia's explanations, and why the World Health Organization is seeking more information. We also discuss the online rumors about biological weapons, secret research programs, and the history that has fueled speculation. But what is actually known, and what remains unproven?   Join Franklin and Douglas for a conversation about plague, biosecurity, infectious disease fears, government transparency, conspiracy theories, and the strange world of current events.   If you enjoy current events podcasts, weird news, mysterious deaths, breaking news analysis, science controversies, and humorous commentary on the stories everyone is talking about, you're in the right place. Franklin and Douglas Ep 113 | Christa Pike & The Failed Lethal Injection

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down current events, strange news, controversial stories, and the headlines everyone is talking about—with humor, opinions, and our signature Bad Advice! This episode takes a serious look at the shocking case of Christa Pike, the Tennessee death row inmate whose September 2026 execution attempt failed after she received two doses of lethal-injection drugs.   We discuss how Christa Pike ended up on death row for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer, her decades awaiting execution, and the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Tennessee’s failed lethal injection. Pike was hospitalized following the attempt, and Tennessee Governor Bill Lee paused the state’s remaining scheduled 2026 execution while ordering a third-party review.   We also discuss the bigger questions surrounding the death penalty, lethal injection, botched executions, and what happens when an execution does not go according to plan.   Then we switch gears completely for our Bad Advice segment, tackling a relationship question about a husband who wants to make a sex tape. What could possibly go wrong?   If you enjoy current events podcasts, true crime, weird news, funny commentary, relationship advice, controversial topics, and entertaining conversations, subscribe and join Franklin and Douglas for another episode of Current Events and Bad Advice! #FranklinAndDouglas #CurrentEvents #CurrentEventsPodcast #BadAdvice #Podcast #TrueCrime #ChristaPike #DeathRow #DeathPenalty #LethalInjection #BotchedExecution #TennesseeNews #BreakingNews #WeirdNews #NewsCommentary #RelationshipAdvice #FunnyPodcast #TrendingNews #CurrentEvents #redditstories #aitah Subscribe and Listen to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast Here:  ▶YT: @FranklinandDouglasPod ▶Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/franklin-and-douglas-|-current-events-and-bad-advice/id1762544121 ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0TfbhzggvyLJedvwcJ0Zdv?si=b17befa4fd294a9b  Connect With Us: 🌐Website: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2394567 🎬TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@franklinanddouglaspod 📸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/franklindouglaspod/ Need Advice? - Ask us a question in the comments and we may choose your question to respond on a future episode! Franklin and Douglas Ep 112 | Lauren Boebert Accused of Affairs With 3 Staffers?!

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down current events, trending news, controversial stories, and the headlines everyone is talking about—with plenty of humor, opinions, and our signature Bad Advice! This week, we’re discussing the latest controversy surrounding U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert and a September 17 filing submitted to the House Ethics Committee.   The filing alleges that Boebert had sexual relationships with three congressional staffers under her supervision and arranged a $200,000 payment to one former aide. Boebert has strongly denied the allegations, calling them false and politically motivated. The claims have not been independently substantiated, and the House Ethics Committee has not announced a review.   We break down what has been alleged, Boebert’s response, the House ethics rules involved, and why this story is generating so much attention. Then, as always, Franklin and Douglas offer their humorous opinions and completely questionable Bad Advice.   If you enjoy current events podcasts, political news, funny news commentary, trending stories, controversial headlines, congressional news, and entertaining conversations, this episode is for you. Franklin and Douglas Ep 111 | Rabid Goats and Surprise Chicken Bones

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we take a look at current events, weird news, trending stories, and the headlines that make you stop and ask, “What the hell is going on?” In this episode, we’re diving into two bizarre stories that could not be more different: rabies-infected baby goats at a North Carolina mobile petting zoo and the Ohio Supreme Court case involving a bone found in a “boneless” chicken wing.   We discuss the North Carolina rabies exposure, how baby goats at a petting zoo ended up testing positive, and why health officials were warning people who may have had contact with the animals. Then we head to Ohio for one of the strangest legal food debates you’ll ever hear about: can a boneless wing actually contain a bone? The Ohio Supreme Court’s 2024 ruling said the term “boneless wing” describes a cooking style rather than guaranteeing the complete absence of bones.   We share our humorous opinions, questionable logic, and, of course, our signature Bad Advice. Franklin and Douglas Ep 110 | AI Has a 10% Chance of Killing Us All?!

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down current events, trending news, strange headlines, and the stories everyone seems to be talking about, with plenty of humor, opinions, and our signature bad advice! In Episode 110, we’re talking about a pretty terrifying claim: an Anthropic researcher believes there is more than a 10% chance that artificial intelligence could eventually “kill all humans.”   How seriously should we take the possibility of AI becoming an existential threat? We discuss artificial intelligence, AI safety, AI risks, the future of technology, and what could happen if increasingly powerful AI systems become difficult for humans to control. Is this a legitimate warning from people working on the technology, or are we just one bad software update away from the robot apocalypse?   We share our thoughts, questionable logic, humorous opinions, and, of course, our completely unqualified analysis of whether humanity should be worried about AI taking over the world.   Then we finish the episode with our famous Bad Advice segment, because if the machines eventually take over, you might as well get some terrible advice before they do.   If you enjoy current events podcasts, funny news commentary, technology news, AI discussions, trending topics, weird news, and entertaining conversations, subscribe and join Franklin and Douglas for another episode of Current Events and Bad Advice!    Subscribe and Listen to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast Here:  ▶YT: @FranklinandDouglasPod ▶Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/franklin-and-douglas-|-current-events-and-bad-advice/id1762544121 ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0TfbhzggvyLJedvwcJ0Zdv?si=b17befa4fd294a9b  Connect With Us: 🌐Website: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2394567 🎬TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@franklinanddouglaspod 📸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/franklindouglaspod/ Need Advice? - Ask us a question in the comments and we may choose your question to respond on a future episode! Franklin and Douglas Ep 109 | The White House Made Video Games?!

Welcome back to the Franklin and Douglas Podcast, where we break down the biggest current events, trending news stories, and bizarre headlines with plenty of opinions, laughs, and our signature bad advice! In Episode 109, we continue our discussion about the White House Arcade and the controversial video games centered around topics including immigration, deportation, and “building the wall.” We take a closer look at how politics, government messaging, and video games are being combined in a way that has people talking.   We also take a trip back to the early 2000s to discuss America’s Army, the military-developed video game that was created as an entertainment experience while also serving as a recruiting and public-relations tool. What happens when video games become more than just games? Are they entertainment, education, propaganda, recruitment tools—or some combination of all four?   As always, we wrap things up with our famous Bad Advice segment, where questionable opinions meet questionable solutions.   If you enjoy current events podcasts, funny news commentary, trending topics, weird news, political discussions, video games, internet culture, and entertaining conversations between friends, you’re in the right place.
