    Episode #105-Galatians:Paul’s Not Sugarcoating This One! Part 2

    In this episode of The Bible Thumpers Podcast, we’re diving back into the book of Galatians, covering chapters 3 and 4, and Paul is definitely NOT holding back! He’s calling out the Galatians for allowing false teachers to lead them away from the truth of the gospel. They had received the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, yet they were being convinced that following the Mosaic Law was necessary for salvation. Paul makes it clear that salvation has never been something we could earn through good works, religious traditions, or following a list of rules. We’re digging into God’s promise to Abraham, the true purpose of the Law, the difference between faith and works, and why Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God’s promises. But Paul doesn’t stop there! In chapter 4, he reminds believers of something incredible: through faith in Jesus Christ, we are no longer slaves but children of God and heirs to His promises! We’re talking about what it means to be adopted into God’s family, the freedom we have in Christ, the dangers of false doctrine, and why growing in our faith and becoming more like Jesus matters. We’ll also discuss how easily human traditions and expectations can get mixed into the gospel and why it’s so important to study Scripture for ourselves. In Part 1, we’re diving into chapters 1 and 2, where Paul wastes no time confronting false teachings, defending the true gospel, and reminding believers that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not by following a list of man-made rules. We’re unpacking the dangers of adding requirements to God’s Word, the difference between personal convictions and biblical commands, and why Paul was so passionate about protecting the truth of the gospel. We’re also digging into Paul’s incredible transformation from persecutor to apostle, his confrontation with Peter, and what it really means to seek God’s approval instead of pleasing people. Along the way, we’re tackling some modern-day Christian rules, sharing personal experiences, asking plenty of questions, and taking a few of our usual rabbit trails! Join us as we discover why Paul’s words to the Galatians are still so relevant today and why we should never take anyone’s word for it without opening our Bibles and studying Scripture for ourselves.

    We all want to know God’s will for our lives, but are we really willing to follow it when it doesn’t line up with what we want? Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to figure out God’s plan for our future that we overlook what He has already told us in His Word. God’s will isn’t some hidden mystery we have to solve. Scripture tells us how He wants us to live, what He expects from us, and what it truly means to follow Him. Tonight, the Bible Thumpers are digging into the difference between God’s will and His plan, obedience versus our own desires, and why following God isn’t about getting Him to approve the life we’ve already planned.     Episode #102-Conviction, Confession and Course Correction

    Repentance is more than feeling guilty, saying we’re sorry, or promising to do better next time. In this episode of The Bible Thumpers, we’re digging into what biblical repentance really means: recognizing our sin, responding to conviction, confessing honestly, and turning away from sin and back toward God. We’ll talk about the difference between conviction and condemnation, godly sorrow and worldly sorrow, and why genuine repentance involves more than words. It’s not about checking another box on the Christian to-do list. It’s about a heart that is willing to be changed. Join us for an honest conversation about what repentance looks like in everyday life, why it can be so difficult, and why it is such an important part of following Christ. We’ll explore Scripture, ask some uncomfortable questions, chase a few rabbit holes, and examine whether we’re truly allowing conviction to lead to course correction. Repentance isn’t just something that happens when we first come to Christ. It is part of a life continually being transformed by Him. Conviction gets our attention. Confession brings our sin into the light. And repentance changes our direction.

    Episode #101-Gold, Glitter and Really Bad Decisions

    The Israelites had barely finished saying, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do,” when they decided a golden calf sounded like a fantastic idea. Exodus 32 is one of those chapters that makes us shake our heads and wonder, “What were they THINKING?” But before we get too comfortable judging a bunch of people dancing around a homemade cow, we might want to take a look at what’s sitting on the thrones of our own hearts. Our idols may not be covered in gold, but they can look like money, relationships, politics, success, approval, comfort, entertainment, social media, our phones—or even good things that quietly became more important than God. In Episode #101, GOLD, GLITTER & REALLY BAD DECISIONS, we’re talking about what idolatry actually looks like in the modern world, how easily our hearts can turn something created into something worshiped, and why God refuses to share first place. We’ll dig into Scripture, ask some uncomfortable questions, chase a few Bible rabbit holes, probably get distracted by a squirrel or two, and examine the things competing for our attention, affection, trust, and obedience. Because the golden calf may be ancient history, but idolatry definitely isn’t—and sometimes the hardest idol to recognize is the one we’ve gotten really good at calling something else.

    Episode #100-This Is What Happens When You Give Us Microphones

    Episode #100 of The Bible Thumpers Podcast is officially here—and apparently, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE US MICROPHONES! For 100 episodes, the four of us have opened our Bibles, asked questions, chased more rabbit trails than we could ever count, laughed until we couldn’t breathe, tackled some difficult topics, encouraged one another, and grown together in our walks with Christ. So for this milestone episode, we’re looking back at where we started, remembering some of our favorite moments and conversations, talking about what we’ve learned from God’s Word and from each other, and celebrating the Christian friendship that has grown right alongside this podcast. There will still be plenty of laughter—because after 100 episodes, we have clearly proven that putting the four of us around microphones is always a little dangerous. But underneath all the fun is the same reason we started Bible Thumpers in the first place: we love Jesus, we love God’s Word, and we want other women to know Him too. We’re incredibly thankful for every person who has listened, shared, prayed, laughed, learned, and grown alongside us.     Episode #99-Who Are You Serving?

    Who are you really serving? It’s easy to say “God,” but sometimes our choices, priorities, desires, and the way we spend our time tell a different story. In Episode #99, Who Are You Serving?, we take an honest look at the things that compete with God for first place in our lives. From money and possessions to comfort, approval, success, and our own desires, we’ll talk about what it really means to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and choose to serve God every day. We’ll also dig into the first two chapters of Ecclesiastes and Solomon’s search for satisfaction through wisdom, pleasure, accomplishments, possessions, and everything this world had to offer. Solomon had it all, yet none of it could give him lasting fulfillment. This episode challenges us to look beyond what is temporary, walk by faith instead of sight, and ask ourselves one important question: If the way I’m living is telling the truth about me, who am I serving?

    Episode #98-Week 6 of Colossians

    In Episode #98 of The Bible Thumpers Podcast, Week 6 of Colossians, we wrap up our journey through this incredible book by looking at what it really means to live like Jesus is Lord of every part of our lives. We talk about honoring Christ in our marriages, families, jobs, relationships, conversations and prayer lives. We dig into what it means to work for the Lord instead of for the approval of people, to serve others as though we are serving Jesus Himself, to stay devoted to prayer and to make the most of every opportunity God gives us to share His love. And of course, April came prepared with plenty of parables tonight, giving us some great examples that helped bring these Scriptures into everyday life. As Paul closes his letter to the Colossians, he reminds us that following Jesus was never meant to be something we do alone. We need people who will pray with us, encourage us, serve beside us and help us keep our eyes on Christ. After six weeks in Colossians, we are left with one big challenge: If Jesus truly is Lord of our lives, does the way we live actually show it? Join Cassandra, Brooke, April and Marie as we finish Week 6 of Colossians with lots of conversation, plenty to think about, a few squirrels along the way, and apparently enough parables from April to keep us all on our toes!
