A wonderful memory journey taken with you, Ken. Your word pictures bring the Gordon years flooding back. I appreciate hearing about music life happening behind the stage-as I was in the audience cheering y’all on. My husband, Bobby, says, “I like this guy!” as we listen together. I would LOVE to experience the Gordon music alumni gathering someday.

Equal parts nostalgic, historical record, wrinkle in time and the benchmark for how far we can still get.

I arrived on the North Shore in 1998 as a seminary student and singer songwriter. I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of this era. Harrod and Funck, Scarlet Haven, Brother Sun, Erin Dooley, Bobbie, Jake Armerding opening fur Over the Rhine in Gilles… I’m loving learning the back story of this exceptional creative moment in time. Thank you so much, Ken. This podcast is a refreshing gift.

So beautifully written. I will now be playing dreams of the colorblind for the rest of the day. I remember so clearly the first night I ever heard Herrod and Funk. They came from Wheaton College and had a friendship with Bruce Hermon that I think drew them to Gordon. Your right when you said they seemed like ours. I can’t wait for another episode.
