  1. DAY 25: Are You Forcing What God Promised?

    11H AGO

DAY 25: Are You Forcing What God Promised?

DAY 25: Are You Forcing What God Promised? What if your problem isn’t that God hasn’t spoken, but that fear has convinced you to force what He already promised? What if God’s promise is real, but your fear is still trying to force the outcome? Genesis 27 is one of the most uncomfortable family scenes in the Bible. Isaac is blind. Rebekah is scheming. Jacob is pretending. Esau is about to be displaced. And somehow, God’s covenant purpose still moves forward through a house full of favoritism, appetite, secrecy, fear, and manipulation. In Day 25 of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener walks through Genesis 27:1 to 29 and exposes one of the hardest truths in the life of faith: God can move through broken people, but that never makes manipulation holy. This episode speaks directly to real people living in real pressure. People who are tempted to control outcomes. People who are tired of family dysfunction. People who know what it feels like when conversations become strategies, rooms become stages, and truth gets buried under fear. Genesis 27 reminds us that God’s promise does not need our deception. God’s timing does not need our panic. God’s blessing is safest when our hands are clean. From a Hebraic and Ancient Near Eastern perspective, this passage is not just about a stolen blessing. It is about covenant, spoken authority, family fracture, spiritual dissonance, and the danger of using holy language to baptize human schemes. Tell me in the comments: Where are you tempted to force an outcome instead of trusting God’s timing and method? Are YOUR Choices Destroying YOU?

ARE YOU LIVING BY COVENANT OR IMPULSE? What if your problem isn’t that you don’t believe God, but that fear still gets your mouth, appetite still gets your choices, opposition still gets your emotions, and compromise still gets your excuses? In this Sunday Summary and Deepening of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener walks through Genesis 25:1 to Genesis 26:35 and ties the entire week together with one direct question: are you living by covenant, or are you living by impulse? This week brings Abraham’s ending, Isaac’s inheritance, Ishmael remembered, Jacob chosen, Esau exposed, Isaac repeating Abraham’s fear, contested wells, God making room, and two quiet verses where one careless choice brings bitterness into the home. This is not ancient family drama. This is real life. Appetite still trades sacred things for temporary relief. Fear still repeats old family patterns. Opposition still makes faithful people wonder if God left. Small compromises still bring large grief into homes. And God still keeps His covenant. Through Hebraic worldview, Ancient Near Eastern context, and practical Bible teaching, this episode speaks directly to real people, real families, real marriages, real fears, and real decisions. Which one hit you hardest this week, appetite, fear, opposition, or compromise? 4D AGO

DAY 23: WHY DOES OBEDIENCE BRING OPPOSITION?

What if opposition isn’t proof God left you, but proof the blessing became visible?  In Day 23 of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener teaches Genesis 26:12 to 25, where Isaac obeys God, sows in famine, receives a hundredfold harvest, and immediately faces envy, hostility, and blocked wells. This episode connects the Ancient Near Eastern world of wells, water, survival, inheritance, and covenant future to real people today who are trying to stay faithful under pressure. Isaac’s story reminds us that obedience can be fruitful and contested at the same time. A contested well can still be real water. If you’ve obeyed God and then wondered why life got harder, this message is for you. Don’t confuse opposition with abandonment. Don’t let envy make you bitter. Build the altar. Pitch the tent. Dig the well. Trust the Lord to make room. 4. DAY 22: WHY DO WE REPEAT WHAT BROKE US?

    5D AGO

DAY 22: WHY DO WE REPEAT WHAT BROKE US?

Why do we repeat what broke us? Genesis 26 shows Isaac, the son of promise, repeating Abraham’s fear driven failure. He carries covenant blessing, but under pressure, fear still gets into his mouth. In this episode of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener walks through Genesis 26:1 to 11 and shows how famine, fear, family patterns, and compromise still speak directly to real people today. This isn’t just ancient history. It’s the story of what happens when pressure exposes the patterns we thought we’d escaped. Silence. Anger. Control. Lying. Avoidance. Self protection. Fear of truth. Fear of being exposed. Isaac’s lie put Rebekah at risk, and Genesis forces us to ask a painful question: where are we protecting ourselves in ways that wound the people closest to us? But this passage also gives hope. God doesn’t need your compromise to keep His covenant. He doesn’t need your panic to protect your future. He’s faithful enough to meet you in the very place fear has been running your life. Where is fear tempting you to compromise truth right now? Comment below. More resources: https://www.TrueWordFaithforLife.com #BibleTeaching #Genesis26 #ChristianPodcast Why do we repeat what broke us? Genesis 26 shows Isaac carrying covenant promise while repeating Abraham’s fear driven lie. Dr. Shawn M. Greener connects this Ancient Near Eastern Bible passage to real life patterns, fear, family wounds, compromise, and God’s covenant faithfulness. God doesn’t need your panic to protect your future. 5. DAY 21: WHY DID GOD CHOOSE HIM?!

    6D AGO

DAY 21: WHY DID GOD CHOOSE HIM?!

Why would God choose Jacob when Esau looked like the obvious heir? Genesis 25 isn’t just ancient family drama. It’s a mirror. It exposes how easily we trade tomorrow for whatever we’re hungry for today. In Day 21 of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener walks through Genesis 25:19 to 34, where Rebekah’s barrenness, Isaac’s prayer, the twins struggling in the womb, and Esau’s birthright all collide in one unforgettable question: Are you living by covenant, or by appetite? Esau didn’t just want stew. He treated something sacred like it was disposable. Jacob wasn’t mature, clean, or noble yet either. He was grasping. Calculating. Complicated. And that’s the point. God’s covenant purposes don’t move by human custom, birth order, physical strength, family preference, or emotional impulse. They move by His sovereign word. This episode will confront your instincts, your appetites, your ambitions, and the way you make decisions when you’re tired, hungry, pressured, or desperate. APR 27

DAY 20: WHY DOES ABRAHAM’S STORY END THIS WAY?

Why doesn’t the Bible rush past Abraham’s ending? Genesis 25:1 to 18 slows down to show something most people miss. God chooses Isaac for the covenant line, yet still blesses Ishmael. That tension reveals the true character of God. In this episode, Dr. Shawn M. Greener unpacks the closing of Abraham’s life through Ancient Near Eastern context, covenant inheritance, and generational identity. This is about more than history. It is about how God works in your life right now. You will learn: • Why covenant inheritance is precise, not random • Why God’s mercy extends beyond the chosen line • Why endings matter in God’s story • How to trust God when life transitions feel uncertain If you are wrestling with purpose, calling, fairness, or change, this episode will challenge and ground you. Tell me: Where do you need to trust God’s precision instead of resisting it? https://rumble.com/v791snq-day-20-why-does-it-end-this-way.html https://www.youtube.com/live/vsNEEKRwgPE?si=yUQI1qsgAkxTleW- More resources: https://www.truewordfaithforlife.com Genesis 25, Abraham death, Isaac inheritance, Ishmael descendants, covenant theology, Bible teaching podcast, Christian teaching, ANE context Bible, God’s faithfulness, biblical inheritance Send Dr. Shawn a Message.
